Amazon Brand - Solimo Therapeutic Dandruff Shampoo, Original Strength, 8.5 Fluid Ounce

I decided to try this shampoo because the brand I was previously using changed formulas and no longer worked for me. I went into this knowing that tar shampoos do not have a pleasant smell and this is no exception. It did not seem to linger for too long though after I styled my hair and used some other hair products on it. I have very sensitive skin on my scalp and it frequently becomes quite uncomfortable and irritated and this type of shampoo is the only thing I have found that helps it feel normal again. I am so happy to have found this Solimo shampoo because it worked quickly and the price is quite reasonable. My hair also felt very clean and manageable after using this product.

Don’t buy in winter... it freezes and leaks

I decided to try this shampoo because of the price and the fact that it actually contains coal tar, which in my experience, works great for dandruff and dry skin conditions. I will say that this is a great product and a fantastic value when compared to national brands. The shampoo has a medicinal scent, but that doesn't bother me. Lathers up nice, has a good tingly sensation and seems to work well at calming any itchy scalp issues and flakes. A great value for the money!

I am sure it works for some people but it hasn't done anything for me in the week I have had it with daily use. I dont have super flaky dandruff I have the kind that is caked on and itches terribly so It just doesn't work for me. Plus it smells awful. I just wanted to keep up with paraben free but it just isnt working for me.

Because this product has an active ingredient for a specific function you might expect it to have a medicinal smell; well, it's far worse than medicinal! This shampoo actually stinks. I thought maybe the smell would dissipate after drying my hair but, no, it lingered all day and was especially strong every time I moved my head! To make matters worse, it didn't even work. I don't think it's returnable or I would send it back in an instant.

My mom LOVES this stuff. She has seborrhagic psoriasis on her scalp that often becomes so bad it can be weepy. We have used this in combination with a conditioning oil ONCE so far and I’d say it wiped out 50% of the problem. I will update further as we use it. The smell could be desired but it is coal tar so there’s not much you can do with that. This stuff gives her hope!

Not a fan of its fragrance

I do not have dandruff but I have had a very itchy scalp for months. I also have very long fine hair so whatever I put on my scalp affects the rest of it. First off, this worked on first application to eliminate my itchy head. 100% gone, I was amazed. Unfortunately this product has a very strong unpleasant odor which on me lingered all day despite rinsing and using a very fragrant conditioner. To me this shampoo smells like industrial lubricant or a vetiver-heavy men's cologne. This also stripped my hair dry and I needed to use a deep conditioner afterwards to prevent it from being straw. I would not be able to use this on a regular basis but I can see it as a once a month thing for ongoing itch issues. 4 stars because it did what it promised and relieved my itch. Pretty harsh stuff with a strong odor.
