Great design and it worked the first night!
It is a GREAT design! Easy to bait, easy to set. It has a door lock that slides down and prevents a critter from forcing its way out. (I haven't used it but I am sure it will work perfect). Also well built, and if it gets damaged by a critter they will replace it. UPDATE: It worked the very first night. I put peanut butter on the inside edges to lure it in further and further. I put lots of peanut butter in the trigger and it worked perfectly.

Works Well for Douglas Squirrels
This worked great for troublesome squirrels. Safe and doesn't harm them. Wear gloves to pick up the cage. It's solid and well made. Cleans up good with a brush and soapy water. Easy set up, fast catch.

Very well made and easy to set up. And it works well.
The trap was just delivered today. It is very well made, easy to set and easy to release for the rat or mouse. I just set it up in my shop so I can’t comment on its longevity. I think the trick is choosing the right bait. I put a piece of cheese and a piece of a cookie on the release pad as well as a trail of cookie crumbs inside. I’ll update this as time goes on. Update; I put the in my garage/shop at stated above. I checked it this morning, the day after I got it. There was a nice healthy rat inside. 😃. Yey . I took the trap with the little rat inside about a 1/4 mile from my house on a gravel road and released it into a huge open pasture. He scampered away into the tall grass. I hope he enjoys his life outside and away from my shop.

Works great!
Worked great! Caught 2 squirrels within a very short amount of time (they were living in my ceiling). I would have givin it 5 stars but the wire bars are not super strong. The squirrel was able to pull back part of it and make a small hole which lead to it getting cut up by the wires. I was easily able to bend the bars back but I could see that being a repeated issue.

Good humane solution
This trap worked very well to catch a chipmunk in a crowded filled up basement. Somehow, the chipmunk got through a sliding patio door. Was seen looking up at me in a bedroom. Of course he ran through the house, was sniffed out by the dog and chased through the kitchen and down to our basement. We could not have found his hiding place after looking for hours. So the only way we could think of getting him out so he didn't die in a basement was to order a trap for same day delivery. Set with peanut butter and some bird seed and sunflower seeds we checked in the morning and lo and behold he was trapped, scared, but uninjured. The trap was easy to set up and had a good spring mechanism on it that apparently did not spring until the critter touched the platform where the peanut butter was. We sometimes get mice in the winter so this will be good for humane trapping.

Here's the answer to your rodent problems. A life-saver (For us, as well as the mice!)
Some little mice set up housekeeping in our garage, and we didn't want to kill them (as we HAD done, reluctantly, when big rats caused some $1300 damage under the hoods of both our cars about 10 years ago). At first we tried using an old humane trap that we had kicking around, which outwardly looked and basically worked much like this one. On successive nights, we caught two mice, but it took two people to bait the thing because one had to hold the door open. Once it sprang shut on my husband's arm and actually left marks. Another drawback of the old trap was that for the trap to be sprung, a mouse had to pull or push the bait in the right direction, and that bait was just placed on a large, but too loose to control well, hook hanging from the top of the trap. After those first 2 successes, the mice managed several times to steal the bait and get away. So we went online to find a better solution. This KENSIZER CAGE is constructed of metal and looks much like the old trap we had, but it has beautifully solved both of the problems I mentioned above: (1) To my surprise, the strong metal rod whose tip goes just barely under a loop in the "trigger" can also be used to safely hold the door open while you bait the trap, there being a special metal clip-like thing for that purpose on the top of the cage. (2) Instead of the "victim" having to set off the trigger by the way it attacks the bait (in our case, cheddar cheese--The mice love peanut butter, too, but in the hot garage, it melted.), when it tries to get at the food, it cannot avoid stepping on a small, thin metal plate loosely positioned under the bait, and then Snap! goes the trap, so fast that the mouse doesn't have time to escape. Using this Kensizer cage, we caught 4 more mice in quick succession. One morning, we found 1 in the cage and released it in a field and rebaited and caught another one, about an hour later. We expected to get more, but haven't had any signs of them for a couple of days. Anyway, it was a total of 6, and the last 4 were very easy, thanks to this simple, but superbly designed trap. The fact that it is made of metal, rather than plastic, also sets my mind at ease because I know a mouse that has to spend the night in it will not be able to find a way to gnaw a hole and escape. Even using the trap indoors, you may eventually find ants coming for the bait and swarming all over the cage. We were afraid that the scent of an insect spray would keep the mice away, so we just cut a piece of wood a bit larger than the "floor" of the cage, smeared a lot of vaseline around the entire circumference of the wood, and set the cage on top of it. Ants, at least the small ones we have in southern CA, do not want to walk on vaseline. I should add, though, that we don't know if vaseline also works as a mouse repellant, or if we have really caught and released all the mice who were enjoying our hospitality. Going to test that tonight by leaving out a couple of pieces of cheese a small distance away from the cage. If that disappears and we catch nothing, it will be time to find a tray and create a tiny moat of water around the cage so the ants can't get across.

Do not recommend
I barely caught two in this. The rest laughed at it.

Excellent trap and superb customer service!
Kensizer Trap Review I’ve had this trap for a couple of weeks now and so far, two voles, a mouse, and something else (?) have been caught. The first time I had it set overnight, it trapped a vole. I don’t know what the second critter it caught was because before I realized it trapped something, the critter had chewed its way through the wires and escaped. I contacted Kensizer, but did not receive a response right away. I waited for about a week and contacted them again. This time I received a response within an hour or two with an apology for not responding to my first message. Apparently, there was a problem with an email filter. They also apologized for the problem with the trap and sent me a replacement that arrived within a week. Great customer service!!! Since then, I caught another vole and a mouse. This trap works great and is much better than other methods I’ve tried.

I Love the fact that the small animal can be trapped safely and relocated. The conventional rat and mice traps are absolutely barbaric - the poor little critters just wanna live!

Fue realmente sorprendente ver cómo en 3 horas ya había capturado al roedor. Solo seguí la recomendación de otro comprador de amarrar cacahuates al fondo de la jaula, y si, en tres horas cumplió su función

Good human trap for it's price. Place a heavy object on cage ( in a way that does not stop it operating) as our first Asian house mouse managed to get out after the trap being triggered. The dog may have had some role in that but I am uncertain.

My first ever review of a product on amazon but I’m still shocked how well this worked. We put it and 20min later the mouse was caught!!!
