Budget-Friendly & Works Just As Well🧡
This stimulant-free formula behaves exactly as expected for a standard 100mg docusate sodium product. It's gentle on the system/stomach and works consistently over a few days. They don't stick together in the bottle which is a plus, and there's no bad aftertaste and no smell. I would definitely purchase this version again🧡

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reliable and Gentle Relief
Finding a dependable solution for occasional irregularity can be a trial-and-error process, but these Amazon Basic Care softgels have proven to be an excellent choice. The 100 mg dose of docusate sodium is effective without being overly aggressive, which is a significant factor for those who prefer a more natural-feeling relief over harsh stimulant laxatives. The softgels are small and very easy to swallow, and they do not have any unpleasant aftertaste. I found that they work consistently within the expected timeframe, usually providing gentle results overnight or by the next morning. There was no cramping or sudden urgency, which makes this product feel much safer and more comfortable for routine use when needed. The value offered in this 100-count bottle is exceptional. Comparing the ingredient list to the major national brands, it is identical in every way except for the price. It is clear that you are receiving the same pharmaceutical quality at a fraction of the cost. The packaging is secure and easy to open, and the quantity ensures that you have a supply on hand for quite some time. For anyone looking for a straightforward, effective stool softener that prioritizes comfort and affordability, this is a top-tier option. It does exactly what it is intended to do with no surprises, making it a staple for the home medicine cabinet.

Amazon Basic Care Stool Softener Laxative, Docusate Sodium 100 mg Softgels
Gentle and Reliable Relief — Affordable and Effective I’ve tried several stool softeners over the years, and the Amazon Basic Care Docusate Sodium 100 mg Softgels perform just as well—if not better—than more expensive name-brand versions. For anyone dealing with occasional constipation, post-surgery recovery, or just looking for a gentle, non-stimulant option, this product delivers. Pros: Works as Expected: It generally takes about 12–72 hours to work (as stated), and when it does, the results are effective but gentle—no cramping or urgency like with stimulant laxatives. Easy to Swallow: The softgels are small, smooth, and go down easily, even for people who usually struggle with pills. Great Value: You’re getting a large count for a very affordable price. This is ideal if you need to use them regularly or want to keep them stocked in the medicine cabinet. Comparable to Colace: I’ve used Colace in the past and honestly can’t tell a difference in performance. This generic version saves money without sacrificing quality. Cons: Takes Time to Work: Like all stool softeners, this isn’t an instant fix. If you need fast relief, you’ll need a stimulant or combination product. This is more about softening over time. Gel Capsule Odor: When you open the bottle, there’s a slight chemical smell. It’s not overpowering, but worth mentioning. Packaging Could Improve: The cap is secure but not child-resistant, which might be a concern in households with young children. Bottom Line: This is a reliable, gentle solution for softening stools and supporting regular bowel movements without harsh effects. It’s not meant to be a quick laxative, but it does exactly what it claims if used consistently. If you’re looking for an affordable alternative to brand-name products, this is a great buy. Highly recommended for adults seeking non-stimulant relief. Just be patient—it works best over a day or two.

A post-surgical must!
I was advised to use this after relatively minor abdominal surgery. I thought I wouldn’t need it because I eat a high-fiber diet. Wrong! If you’re told to use it, best to use it. It was effective, gentle. No side effects. I wished I hadn’t waited.

A must if you take a GLP one
I buy this and take two a day while being on a GLP -1 to make sure I can go. I have no side effects. It has been 100% effective. They are small pill pills so there is no problem with swallowing them.

Works, but Not Quite as Well as Name Brand
Unfortunately, these didn't seem to work quite as well as the name brand. Other than that, they seem to be acceptable, so long as you don't mind them being slightly less effective.
