These swabs are like micro "Q-Tip style swabs" and while not for ears, can be used to remove or adjust makeup in tight spaces, or, as I like to use them for, when cleaning things like my DSLR etc -- these micro swabs enable one to get into tight corners etc when a regular swab or brush might not be able to access some areas. These are not cheaply made, and are robust enough to allow one to get at and remove dust and grime etc, where one needs to. Recommended!
