Comprehensive gourmet gift set!
At the time of writing, this seems to be the most comprehensive (and expensive!) gift set this small company has to offer. I think it will be a long time before I've tasted everything in it, as even having truffle at all is not an everyday event, and having it in the many and varied forms available here will be even more occasional, but I'm already full of ideas for jazzing-up burgers, salads, chicken etc. Fortunately, the whole set has a long shelf-life of March 2025, so there's no rush. I like the company's ethos of trying to democratize truffles, so they're no longer viewed as elite or unaffordable. I think a set like this is entirely in keeping with that; people who are NOT gourmet chefs, and wouldn't buy fresh, raw truffles to cook with (not least because of the expense) get a chance to experience several creative uses of them. I think, as with all gift selections, there's a risk that one or two items may not be liked. But equally, I do agree there should be something here for everyone - everyone who likes truffles, that is! It's not a present I would get without being sure, as it can be rather an acquired taste. Whilst I believe all the contents DO contain real truffles, a minority also contain "truffle flavouring" - which I take to be synthetic. Although the set is quite expensive, even olive oil (the basis for the oils) is expensive on its own these days, without the addition of truffles, so the price-tag is probably not unreasonable, and certainly not inaccessible. I like that the set comes from a small-to-medium UK business, which I'm always keen to support. Their website features recipe ideas for anyone unsure what to do with the products. I'm sure I'll be looking there for inspiration.

It is not for my taste buds
I always wanted to try the famous and super expensive truffles because why not. This set is a great idea to try out different things that you can add truffles in or you can use powder for your own culinary experience. This set is the first ever in my life that I have tried truffles. First thing that was slightly disappointing was the smell. I am definitely not a fan of it and for myself it is actually quite bad smell that puts me off a little bit. I thought that maybe it is the taste that will knock me off from my feet...but I was disappointed as well. Nothing special and nothing too exciting. Does it add some special taste to your meals ? Yes but I was expecting more. I don't know if the truffle content is just too small or it is just not for me. I can imagine if you are the fan of truffles you will enjoy this much more than I do. Although, I am not too convinced to the truffle extravaganza the products itself are very tasty and very good quality. I thing I like the BBQ sauce the most as well as oils are great too. I am not too sure about truffle honey with sweet smell mixed with weird truffle smell. I tried adding powder to my meals to see if it will add to the flavour in any way but except some smell I didn't notice too much of a difference. Overall, this set I think is a great idea to try out different ways for consuming truffles with actually very good quality olive oils and other products that will spice up your meals however, personally I don't know what is all the fuss about it.

Not cheap, but the quality is worth it
Truffles are not cheap, so it goes to say that any products derived from this particular fungus are also not going to be cheap. I'm far from a gourmet chef, but I like to experiment with different flavours, and this is my first time with truffle oil. I've tried cooking a few different potato dishes now using truffle oil instead of olive oil, and there is a huge difference in taste, adding much earthier tones, although my experiments haven't proven to be to everyone's liking! The rest of the condiments can be a bit of an acquired taste, but they sure are fancy. They're only small, so don't expect to be able to lump on the ketchup like you would from a bottle, these are far more delicate tasters, although you could use the oil to infuse your favourite condiment with the taste of truffles. For me, my favourite was the salt, I like a bit of salt on my chips, and I thought I would be a decadent heathen, and try the infused salt on my chips, and I'm so glad I did. Sure, this kind of behaviour would probably get me thrown out of a fancy restaurant, but I can do whatever I want in my own kitchen, I'm unrepentant, not to mention converted! This would make a great gift for the right person, but just be warned that it won't be to everyone's taste.

A truffle lovers dream
I think it goes without saying that if you don't like truffles then this is not for you but if, like me, you are then this is a veritable feast for the senses. When the box arrived it not only looked great but smelt great to. The design has a real elegance about it and just oozes quality. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into this collection, as there really is such variety. Who knew truffle honey was even a thing! Well luckily for me it is, and I love it. Truffles do have quite a heady aroma, which for me conjures up images of Provence, not that I have ever been, but I have seen many programmes about the Truffle Route. The Black Truffle Hot Sauce brought a touch of class to my sausages the other evening & the truffle ketchup is just gorgeous. The Oils bring a whole new depth to your home cooking, and they work especially well with pasta dishes in my opinion. The expiry date on my box was March 2025 although many of the condiments within last a couple of months more so all have a great shelf life. Overall, I am really impressed with every aspect of this collection. A perfect gift for any truffle lover.

Good, but expensive
Ooh! I do love truffles and truffle products! This fungus is capable of adding another dimension to any food it is added to. In this case, the packet features a white and black truffle oils which I know each cost over £10 as I buy them regularly adding them to my beans or soups to give a completely different taste and aroma. On each side the collection consists of: - Black truffle sea salt; - Black truffle mustard; - Black truffle chilli sauce; - Black truffle mayonnaise; - Black truffle powder; - Black truffle bbq sauce; - Black truffle ketchup; and - White truffle honey. The bbq sauce is a little spicy, but for someone who can't take anything spicy hot, it is tolerable to the point where I finished it with relish and enjoyed my sausages even more because of it! The powder is interesting as it tastes very strongly of truffle and I could eat it all on its own. It is a little salty. The honey is also interesting. One could add it to both sweet and savoury dishes to get completely different results in taste. This, along with the oils are the only products that contain slices of truffle. All the others have granules that are evenly mixed in. The ketchup has made chips/fries taste entirely differently to normal ketchup, elevating a normally cheap food to one that would be worthy of a Michelin star! The kit is certainly expensive, but it gives a person an introduction into the wonderful world of truffles. I would like to see it a little more affordable so more people could have the experience.

Essentially just an expensive smell
All ten of the items in this set are essentially about the aroma. They have that rich pungent fungi scent that jumps out of the jar or bottle as soon as you take the lid off. It’s a bit of an acquired aroma, with the grown-ups in our house generally enjoying it but the kids describing the smell as ‘stinky feet smell’ and running out of the kitchen. But underneath the aroma, there’s a bit of an “Emperor’s New Clothes” sense about some of these items- or at least, reminders of those science tests where people being fed an apple while smelling something different wouldn’t think it was an apple. There’s a lot of smell here, but not a lot of content. Both of the ‘truffle oils’ are almost 100% just olive oil, albeit good quality olive oil, with just a dash of truffle infusion, while each of the small (very small) (very very small) individual sauce pots technically have truffle in, but are largely just the base sauce with a bare minimum of truffle added for scent. So considering how tiny each of the bottles and jars is, and how little truffle is actually involved here, I don’t think the current asking price of fifty-nine quid is anywhere near justified. I feel like you’d get better results, as well as getting far more economical results, by sourcing your own truffle flakes or truffle dust- even from the same brand, as they’ll do you a jar for thirty quid- then mixing it into different sauces and recipes to your own preference, instead of using these pre-mixed jars that are barely any bigger than some of the individual jam pot servings you get in some hotels. The brand’s claim to offer these truffles “without the premium price tag” needs to be challenged. Some of these sauces are proving rather nice, albeit very divisive in our house. I’m tempted to give this set four stars, but because of the way it’s set up to seemingly deliberately offer far less actual truffle content and flavour than the product description would have you believe, means I’m going to knock it down to three.

Truffle flavour
This is a lot of money for a little bit of truffle. Mostly salt, some oil, and some truffle flavouring. Average content across the pack is 1% actual truffle. Nice presentation, and a nice thought, but save your money. This is too bougie for its own good.
