I started using this just once a day at night after cleansing, before moisturizer. I had heard that retinol products can sometimes lead to drying of the skin at first. Never had those issues. Eventually started using this product both morning and night. I was comparing this to the Seeking C serum I had been using prior.At first I didn't notice a huge difference between the two, aside from the fact that Seeeking C is scented obviously. They both go on clean, absorb quickly, and do a good job of hydrating. After a few weeks I thought my skin tone was evening out a bit, less red in a few areas, but the results were not super noticeable. I wanted to give it a fair chance to work so I eventually ordered another bottle and continued to use. I know that retinol in particular can take some time to work.After 2 months or so my pores were noticeably smaller. Skin looked great, the occasional blemish healed faster. I still use the seeking C serum but only occasionally. For my skin this product got the win and is my new go to. I've never had a product that did anything to help with minimizing pore visibility except this one and for me that makes it an easy choice and an easy recommendation.

I purchased the Eight Saints Smooth Sailing Retinol Serum as a recommendation from a friend. I've been looking at updating and renewing my skin routine, and she recommended I try looking at products from Eight Saints. I couldn't be happier! This is the first retinol product that I've used in a while and love it. The serum is light weight and absorbs quickly so it's a fast part of my morning routine (and I'm all about speed when it comes to getting ready in the morning). I didn't notice any peeling or irritation when using it either. My skin feels softer and I'm seeing some of my fine lines go away.I started using this product after spending a week on the Florida coast and subjecting myself to sun, wind, and loading my face with sunscreen each day. After just a week of using this, my skin has bounced back and gotten so much better. 10/10 would recommend!

This was a great little addition to my weekly skin routine. It’s lightweight, non-irritating, and definitely not needed more than a few times a week.For me, it’s an add-on product and not something I would’ve gone for when establishing my core skincare products. I like it nonetheless though! I use it 2-3 times a week, at night, and follow it up with the Eight Saints Cloud Whip. The night after using the Smooth Sailing Serum, I do a heavy moisturizing routine with High Society, Night Shift, and Up the Anti. It’s a night routine that seems to work well for me…plus it’s fast and requires minimal application time.I have some old acne scarring (which has minimized in general with Eight Saints products) but what’s left seems to really diminish with the Smooth Sailing serum. I’ve also noticed it helps minimize bigger pores and fine lines. I haven’t had any redness or irritation but I also wouldn’t be inclined to use this every day or in the morning before being outside in the sun.Overall, this is a power-packed little serum that’s a great accompaniment to a solid skincare routine and holds to the standard I’ve come to expect from Eight Saints.

Only giving 4 stars since I haven’t been using it long enough to say for sure, but I’m loving this serum so far. The texture is nice, but I like to mix it with my facial oil for a bit more luxe feel. I definitely am seeing a bit of improvement in fine lines (hopefully not just wishful thinking 😊), and hoping this will improve over time. Overall, I would recommend this product.

I discovered this brand because I was looking for skin care that wasn’t full of random harsh chemicals, and it seemed to fit the bill. The product itself has very little scent to it, and is easy to apply. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated and absorbs quite quickly without leaving any form of sticky residue. It might seem a bit expensive, but a little goes a long way and the results have been great! I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to get ahead of the effects of skin aging.

I'm usually sensitive to retinol that I end up stopping use of them. I love using many other 8 Saints products, so I wanted to give this a try. I was shocked when I used it. Even with every day application. I had no sensitivities to it. No burning, no tingling, nothing. I was so shocked, that I actually looked up the retinol percentage in it because I began doubting the product. Surprise! It has the same 0.03% as most other OTC retinol serums that I couldn't handle. That's crazy! There has to be magic in this bottle to be so soothing. It also absorbs wonderfully and doesn't have a harsh scent. My face now feels smoother in the mornings and I'm beginning to see pore shrinkage and less visible texture. I think this is going to become a permanent nightly serum for me.

I have very sensitive skin, and I’m always cautious when trying new skincare products. I was pleasantly surprised that this serum caused no irritation at all—it felt soothing and hydrating from the first application. It absorbs beautifully and leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed.One suggestion: since Eight Saints offers so many great products, I’d love to see more detailed descriptions to help narrow things down—like which products are best for certain age groups or specific skin concerns. That would make choosing even easier.Overall, this serum is a win for anyone with delicate skin looking for clean, effective skincare!

I was hesitant to try this because of all the warnings and the fact I have sensitive skin - only during the day, make sure you use sunscreen, can use daily unless you get dryness and flakiness. I am so glad I finally gave it a try! I have used it daily for over a week with Chase the Sun moisturizer and my skin looks and feels great! I feel like I look younger and some of those fine lines I was seeing have disappeared. Now I need to try the other retinol products! I feel like I have found a fountain of youth!
