This machine was priced nicely I figured it would be another item that ended up on the shelf but it’s actually a good tool to have around for small quick projects. Pleasantly please with it!

Rods look good but a few of them got busted up on the ends due to poor shipping. Looked like the box got tossed around and damaged one end of the plastic container. Sturdier container would have probably kept them from getting damaged. Will update if they do not perform well.

3/32, 7018. this brand is amazing. I've ordered 3 different brands of 7018 and this brand has been an absolute delight to work with. 8/10 rods light up without issue.

These are probably 3 or 4 star rods but I'm giving them a 1 so people will actually see this and read it. Inconsistent flux is what I believe to be the root problem with these rods. If you're a good stick welder these are fine. The welds appear good, no complaints. My beef with them is that they are not consistent in their behavior from rod to rod. I bought these for a job thinking I'd save a bunch of money but what ended up happening is my crew struggled with them and it added probably two whole days to the job. I can run them fine but I'm more experienced and have an easier time adjusting on the fly. If you're fresh out of welding school where you ran nothing but Lincoln Excalibur straight out of a rod oven, these things are gonna throw you sooner or later. One or two will do just what you're expecting and then one will pop up and be a complete mess. The slag will get out ahead of you and the puddle will become a boiling lava pit that you either have to push through and kind of weld blind or do a restart. About every tenth rod would develop a really deep fingernail on the flux and the arc would go out. This pissed the crew off and we eventually found that if you just crammed it into the joint as soon as it went out it would re-light and usually not stick. If you're used to leaning on the side of the flux and letting its burn rate control your travel speed, that will work with these about 1\2 to 2\3 of the time. Other times the arc will go out or you'll have to manually slow down to get a big enough bead. In closing I want to reiterate that these did weld fine but they required a bit more adaptability and, ultimately, I would have been much better off buying my guys some rods that they were used to running so they could just get on with their lives and knocked out the job. Lesson learned for me and some good practice for them. In the pictures, all the welds were done in the flat position by the same person with the same settings. They're all good enough for what this job is but they aren't user friendly.

These welding rods worked flawlessly. They were perfect for the project we were working on. I’ll be purchasing these again!
