Buy Segment Routing Part I 1 by Filsfils, Clarence, Michielsen, Kris, Talaulikar, Ketan (ISBN: 9781542369121) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Informative SR book - I read all of this book, cover-to-cover, building some of the example test networks along the way. I liked it because: 1) Itโs written by the people who had the original SR idea, with lots of explanations, context and insight 2) Emphasis on configuration examples, show outputs and packet captures 3) Readable On the downside: 1) The actual print quality of the CLI examples in my book isnโt very good: many of the emboldened lines are illegible 2) Thereโs quite a few mistakes, particularly involving references to the diagrams 3) No index I would probably give it nearer to 4.5, the negative points donโt detract much from a very useful book on SR which taught me a lot. Review: Good technical reference - The other review mentions that the diagrams are blurry, but I didnโt find that. There are a couple of photos at the beginning which donโt work particularly well printed in black and white, but they donโt take away from the book. The information itself is for the most part clear and detailed. Having prior knowledge of the subject matter has helped me get though it however. If there is one thing I will take away from it though, itโs to use the default homogeneous SRGB on any deployment. They harp on about this almost constantly!

Well written book and it has a comprehensive treatment of Segment Routing over MPLS data plane. It starts with the basic concepts like SR IGP control plane, SR data plane and ramps up to advanced concepts like topology independent LFA, SR for the data center to SR BGP control plane and SR LDP internetworking via SR mapping server.

I needed to get acquainted with this software for work. This is probably the best book I've read since Network Warrior and Juniper Networks Warrior. It's fun and seamless to read, especially the first chapter where they sell the technology to you.

A bible on this topic. Must read for network engineers working on SP networks.
