EKTOS100% Virgin Wool Blanket, 50" x 60", Perfect for Camping, Outdoor Essentials (Olive Green, Throw Size)

This blanket is a beautiful medium gray with white stitching around the edges. It’s light yet very warm. There was a mild odor upon opening, however, after a few days of being spread out on top of the bed, the wool odor is barely noticeable. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I read alot of people complaining about the smell of this blanket. Yes it does kinda smell at first. Its not that strong unless it very close to your face. but after a while the smell does fade away to the point i do even notice of smell that odor anymore. Once you wash it & air dry it a few times it just smells like a typical wool blanketIf you need something to kerp you warm when its veryvcold outside or chill indoors this blanket will do the job.I order a "full" fold in half and wrap it around me and i am warm with in minutes.Its a typical wool blanket, its very dense and its has some weight behind it to how thin it looks and feels and very well made.I wish i bought this years ago and what a great find and purchase.

Being that the blanket is 100% wool it is quite heavy and not very soft, but given the price that's perfectly fine. The color is exactly as described and the blanket performs well in the cold! I haven't attempted to wash the blanket yet, it does have that signature wool smell but that doesn't bother me, I also haven't experienced any shedding but I will update this review if I do have any issues in the future. It’s not quite a Pendleton but absolutely worth the price tag.

I posted an honest review about the blanket stating it's pros and cons. It smells awful washed it, and it still smells awful. Aired it out in the sun for 2 days still smells awful. Then my review was rejected for hate speech. I can't recommend this blanket, and am loosing all faith in amazon reviews. Blanket is soft and good weight, but no amount of washing or airing out blanket helps with smell. It's so bad if u touch it u will be carrying the smell on you for the rest of the day. I wouldn't let it anywhere near my bed, I wouldn't put in my vehicle unless you want it to smell like a truck stop diesel pump. Really bad. Unacceptable and completely dishonest. Note the smell is not lanolin, it is chemicals I worked on a farm growing up and am very familiar with what that smell is. Pretty bad when u can't post a honest review to save people from the same experience, then get accused of hate speech for your efforts. Shame on whoever did that.

This 100% virgin wool blanket is excellent! It is much softer than I was expecting and quite hefty. I bought a queen sized blanket for my king sized bed and it fits nicely with enough over hang (about 5-6 inches on each side) to cover me well but without hanging below my duvet (see photos). I did a lot of research on wool blankets and am so happy I decided to purchase this one. Some reviewers mentioned an odor with their blanket. I did not experience that. Mine had a very slight smell that dissipated after about 12 hours of airing out. (I am sensitive to smells and get headaches from smells easily and had NO problem with this blanket.)If you are looking for a well made, warm, soft, wool blanket at an affordable price, you’ve found it!

UPDATE:I have washed this blanket three times now and added scented softener to the water, in order to attempt to cover the smell. It has been left outside to dry and air out for the last 4 days in the sun. The diesel smell is reduced a tiny bit, but not enough to use the blanket inside, or even outside on a regular basis. My hands still smell of the diesel smell after handling it for some time. I will have to continue my search for another wool blanket as this one is going in the trash. I am so sad, because even though the blanket is excellent quality, it is absolutely unusable due to the fuel-like smell. Hopefully, this was just a random batch that they have an issue with, as I noticed another reviewer had the same issue.All that being said, the seller did reach out and offer a full refund. I do appreciate that.*******I can tell the blanket is good quality. However, I am not sure it will EVER be usable. I just received it today, and it absolutely reeks of diesel or machine oil. So much so, that when I open my sliding door to where it is airing outside, I immediately smell the fuel smell and not the outdoors! I will attempt everything to get the smell out of this and make it usable, but it isn’t usable as is because your hands even smell like diesel after touching it. It’s quite horrendous. Will update in a few days on the results of attempting to save this purchase.

There is nothing, I mean nothing, that man has made so far that warms you like good old nature- made wool. It doesn't take your own body heat to make it warm up- when it touches you it's already warm. And it's warm even if wet. It's one of natures miracles like real meat; man just cannot reproduce the qualities in the lab, only nature itself. Wool is winters' comfort fabric just like good beef stew is the food equivalent. I bought the throw size because it can be used when sitting in a chair and big enough to wrap around one person liberally but also we throw it over the middle of the bed when it's really cold. It doesn't make us too hot or weighed down which we can't stand. These are thick and heavy and (to us) not itchy at all, and one of us (he-him) has always said wool is too itchy. If you like a lot of weight and heft and live in a very cold place the bigger ones might be more of what you're seeking. Ours did come, like many others have mentioned (and why they haven't fixed this complaint of many I don't know), with an odd smell almost like it had been dry cleaned. I washed it on warm and let it drip dry until it was half dry and then hung it out on the deck for a day. Then tossed it into air fluff cycle for 15 minutes to fluff it up. That seems to have done the trick. It still has a faint smell but I will give it a second treatment and the scent of real wool will then shine. Anyway these are wonderful little throws and have already cheered and heated up a sicky in the fam that had the chills and they loved it. (she-me)
