Been playing CoC on off for decades. I am a huge fan of Lovecraft. Great set to get you into the game.

Very good starter set to start playing Arkham Horror RPG. The game is very similar to the Arkham horror tabletop game, but the characters have much more freedom on what they can do in this. The game can get chaotic due to the nature of RPGs but we had a blast playing. The set has numerous tokens and cards to assist both the players and the game master. The campaign was relatively simple and straight forward, but still was a lot of fun for everyone. The price point is perfect for this game, I personally wouldn't have been upset if I spent a little more on it because it was that good.

This is a hybrid RPG and board game combo. The box has everything you need to play this one investigation only, but the resources it has is worth it alone for the full RPG. To play that, you will need the core rulebook. This one investigation can offer hours of entertainment and the pre generated characters, tokens game master screen and dice; all useful in the full game.

It is the book my son has been wanting. On Christmas day, out of everything, he would not put that book down. He enjoys the graphics & readers thru the entire book in one day. He also got the game & is enjoying it. Great book for a kid that's a readers.

Just got it in the post today. I'm impressed. Really nice production value and attention to detail. The box is dense and packed with maps, dice, pre made characters and more. Even the rulebook has a stitch binding over staples. I haven't had a chance to run it yet but look forward to the opportunity. A great starter set and new ruleset for the Cthulhu mythos. I look forward to more. Don't let a silly review about clear packing stickers deter you...

Ran this to a few friends who are new to RPGs, the simpler rules and simpler skills, made it for an easy to learn experience and everyone had a great time.

This was less a TTRPG and more "Arkham Horror rules used to simulate Call of Cthulhu". You have the same stats/abilities as the board game! There's no character generation--you're given pregens. If you were hoping to make your own adventurer, you're out of luck. Sadly, the adventure is also very railroady. If you want to play Call of Cthulhu, buy that instead.

My friends and I love this it is different from call of cthulhu but stays in the same mind frame.

A strange product in some ways, which brings some board game style to a tradtional TTRPG. High quality components and useful for a one off one shot adeventure at any table. Worth your time if you are a fan of the Arkham Horror universe or simply want a break from the traditional rules sets.

After receiving the Hungering Abyss, I read through the RPG and it is a fairly well thought out single shot for a group of 5 PC’s plus the GM. Some of the puzzles are far more elaborate than that of a typical RPG and I may alter to streamline the gameplay a bit more. This is a personal choice based on my intended playgroup and not by any means a necessity. Already looking for a copy of the core rules book to continue with the Arkham Horror rpg world.
