Simply Awesome Radio with removable 18650 rechargeable batteries
First of all I thank to Amazon Team who made this product available to us under a reasonable price. This product is simply Awesome. I have been using this Radio for last 1 month till now i have not received any problems.. The most amazing feature of this product is the availability of rechargeable battery of 18650. Where other brands don't have this feature. We can purchase additional battery for this radio if any one is deep music lover. I purchased this Product only for Radio purpose. Most user have written the reviews for Memory Card Slot and Pendrive feature. But according to me these two features are useless in today's modern era where Bluetooth Playing feature has taken down the Memory card and Pendrive feature. Let me describe the Pro's and Con's this portable music player: Pro's: 1) Battery backup is almost good with the 18650 rechargeable battery (1800 mah) supplied with this radio. Almost got 10hrs of backup while playing Radio continuously for 10 hrs in normal volume. 2) Signal strength is good for private stations. While needed to open my Telescopic antenna for Vividh Bharti. Otherwise reception is great. 3) Speaker quality is Good and good for Radio purpose. But this speaker cannot be compared with Bluetooth Speakers. 4) Digital Clock is good but battery consumption is more while using Clock feature. 5) Inbuilt Torch is great and illuminates large area. 6) Build quality is good but need to take extra care while opening the Telescopic antenna as it is delicate. 7) Portability is great and is small to get easily fitted in Jeans pocket. 8) Purchased 2 more Rechargeable batteries of capacity of 2600 mah for Rs 600 where i got 22 hrs of playback time on this radio. link for these batteries i have provided below. Cons: 1) Price could have been 700 Rs for this Radio. 2) Till now i have not seen any cons for this radio. LG 2 Pieces 18650 2600 mAh Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery

No bluetooth, No C-type or Micro sdb charging type, but still works good and looks good.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought it for my grandma, for using as a rechargable radio, and it fits for the use very well. I just randomly selected this from amazon, and I felt it was small and good-looking, then I bought it, Now, I'm very happy to use it, not only for grandma, but for me too. I'm using it like with a USB plugged in, with my playlist on it, then connecting my wired earphones in the headphone jack, then listening to it. There is a two-second lagging when the mode is switched to USB mode, but still, it works very vell. IT DOESN'T HAVE A BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY, and I'm not a fan of it, so its not a problem for me. And to say, it is very small, and can be easilt carrie4d around, if you have big pockets. It brings a kind of nostalgia, but im more using it by USB mode, with my mp3 playlists, while jogging or cycling. so, overall, a 4-star product, and they lose 1 star for not having bluetooth, and for the time it is taking to switch modes, and also, for the charging port, which IS NOT USB C-TYPE.

Updated: Stopped working within 4 months!!
Updated review: My earlier review would have held if it had kept working. Mine - no rough or long usage, not dropped - stopped working within 4 months. I gave it more time thinking not to hurry with a negative review, as it might start working again. Nope: the battery doesn't charge properly, long silences while playing songs, the forward/back buttons don't really work. In short, garbage now. 1st review in July: I got it for use only as an mp3 player. To that end, this is a nice player - compact, simple operation, crystal clear sound (and loud, too), & a fairly good battery life. It didn't give me 12 hours on a full charge but roughly 8. I am giving it 4 stars because its battery life is shorter than expected (going by the manufacturer's claims). Also, the pen drive plays well continuously but each time that I pressed the 'previous/next' button, the playlist got reshuffled, which I didn't want. Those wanting to use FM on it may get disappointed: I found the radio reception less than satisfactory and radio operation relatively more difficult. Overall, a simple, decently performing, budget-friendly mp3 player.

Good Quality Sound
Sound quality is the best with this fm speaker. FM reception is not that very high. You need to be close to windows or doors. You might have to spend some time to figure out a place where it catches reception in your room and keep the radio there. The power button to turn on or off is retro model and clubbed with volume control. However this is not very comfortable. A simple power switch would have been better. The torch is good and comes handy. Overall a decent product.

Convenient & handy multimedia player
Quite a nice product to have on your work desk or even at home. My 85 year old mother is using this and finds it easy to operate. For her I did not bother with pen/flash drives & such but simply loaded a micro sd card with several hundred songs. She either listens to the sd card or the FM radio. Sound quality is pretty good for a unit this size. The reproduction through the headphones is good too. I wish it had a playlist function but for this price I did not expect too much anyway. Speaking of price, identical models of another brand are also available for Rs.300/- lesser but I thought it better to rely on a known brand like Amkette in the event the unit gave any problems. The rechargeable battery is also available locally in the event it fails. On the whole I think its a good buy. Perfect for small spaces and even to carry around as it fits into most adult size trouser pockets. Will update this review as time passes & the unit ages a bit.

Utilitarian, cute little device, not rugged, one has to take care like a baby
This product is indeed utilitarian, it is cute, quite little, literally to fit into any pocket of grown up adult males (side pockets only, but will not fit into jeans pocket). Looks extremely good in hands, the digital display works well even in total darkness and the figures could be seen, the torch is really powerful. The batter is 18 mAh, it is shaped like any easily available dry cell round shaped (a bit fat and elongated) battery. Once battery is dead, replenishment will be a problem, since most products of its ilk, cease production within two to three years of its launch, or even less or much less. Hence, if you are thinking it of using for the next ten years, forget it. It is very easy to set up, the FM channel selection is prompt and the sound of radio is good, if not great. I have used it to play music card, radio and am using it primarily as a digital clock, and am satisfied in all these departments, given its price. Don't be misled about its size as available in the picture, it is a cute, good looking little product, easy enough to fit into any loose pant's side pocket, one can carry it anywhere. However, the clock display is nothing like the same remaining on throughout, it switches only when the product is switched on and on each such occasion, I have had to manually set the time, which is irksome and quite disturbing. Even the product remains switched off, the clock is expected to work, or at least I expected it to be so, and even if it does not work, so long as the battery is not taken off, it must give correct time on each occasion when the product is switched on. This is truly disturbing. However, the overall product quality is good, sound production is good, perhaps the best one can expect at this price. Go for it, it you want an utilitarian element in your pocket, its mobility is great, one should not worry about the battery too, since one can be confident about a seven to eight hours of listening delightfully. However, the batter is likely to get wear off, from the seventh hour past, continuous listening. If only the clock works tick tock throughout the day and night, one can expect it to function for at least two consecutive days, if not more. So folks, just go for it.

Amkette Pocket Speaker review: Packs a whole lot of punch
If you’re a music lover, chances are pretty high that you have a portable speaker lying around. These little gizmos offer the convenience of listening to music, just about anytime and anywhere. Portable speakers can be either wireless (Bluetooth-based) or wired and just like any other gadget, are available at different price points. With near-countless options available in the market, a portable speaker has to offer something more than just good music playback functionality to get some attention. This Amkette Pocket Portable Multimedia speaker has definitely attracted my attention and I think it would of quite a lot of people. Its uniqueness tempted me and I ended up buying it. Am I happy with my Decision?? ----> Let's find out...>!!!! ____________________ Design & Build Quality --------------------------------- Made of glossy plastic, the Pocket speaker has a cuboid-shaped design. It’s fairly compact and, true to its name, can be easily slid into a deep pocket and carried around everywhere. The front has a Grey-coloured speaker grille, with an Amkette logo in the centre. To its right, there’s a small LCD screen that can show everything from time to battery status. Below the LCD, there is a keypad with ten rubberised numbered keys (1-0), a mode selector key (marked with the alphabet ‘M’) and a Green-coloured Torch Key. The top-right corner of the speaker has a rotary dial that’s used for both switching the speaker On/Off and adjusting the output volume level. On its left, there are three more rubberised keys tied to Previous, Next and Play/Pause functions. These and the previously-mentioned numbered keys are backlit with a bright Blue colour and thus, can be used in the dark with zero effort. Just behind the Previous, Next and Play/Pause keys is a small, retractable antenna. It normally sits in a horizontal position but can be easily pulled up and extended to almost three times its size. The left side of Amkette Pocket speaker has a hook (for attaching the included hand strap) and a single-LED torchlight. As for the right, it has all the connectivity ports. From top to bottom, these include a Mini USB port (for charging), a USB 2.0 port (for connecting flash drives) and a 3.5 mm audio socket (for plugging-in headphones and earphones). At the bottom, there’s a microSD card slot. Lastly, the back of the speaker has just a battery compartment (accessible via a slide-out cover) which holds a rechargeable, cylinder-shaped 1,800 mAh battery. All said, I found the Amkette Pocket to be solidly-constructed portable speaker. The pull-out antenna and a front resembling analog TVs of the past lend it a distinctively retro appearance. ____________ Performance -------------------- As mentioned before, this Amkette Pocket Speaker is a lot more than just a portable speaker. It includes a built-in FM radio receiver with automatic channel search functionality, as well as the ability to directly play music files saved on USB flash drives and microSD cards. To listen to FM radio, simply switch to FM mode (by pressing the ‘M’ key on the keypad) and then press the Play/Pause key up top. Once you do that, the speaker will automatically search for available channels and save them when found. Also, the number keys can be used to directly input a channel’s frequency and stations can be switched via the Previous/Next keys. During my use, I found the FM radio reception to be excellent. The speaker easily tunes in to the available stations, and the extendable antenna helps in the reception further. Music playback from USB flash drives and microSD cards is a non-issue as well. All you need to do is plug-in the storage media, and the Pocket speaker automatically starts playing the saved tracks in a sequential order. During music playback, the number keys can be used to directly enter a track’s number and jump to it, a feature I found to be extremely useful. The Previous/Next buttons make it incredibly easy to switch tracks and navigate folders on the storage media. However, the best feature of Amkette Pocket speaker has to be its ‘USB Speaker’ mode. Just hook up the speaker to your PC (via the included Mini USB cable), and it instantly becomes an external speaker. No drivers, no extra settings, nothing. Connect the portable speaker to a PC and you’re ready to roll. It’s that simple! Coming to the actual audio performance, it was great (at least, for the price of the device!) during my test run. Sound output from the Pocket speaker is easily loud enough to fill a small room, yet it doesn’t get distorted too much at higher volume levels. Bass and treble levels are adequate as well, lending to an overall balanced audio output. The speaker does face some issues separating the highs and lows, but for the price, they can be conveniently ignored. In short, audio performance of Amkette Pocket speakermet my expectations. The single-LED torchlight built into the speaker is perfectly bright for emergency situations and works well for what it is. _______ Battery ----------- Amkette claims that the Pocket speaker can work for up to 12 hours at a stretch on a single charge. Over the course of my usage, I managed to get around 8.5 hours of use from it. Definitely not bad! _______ Verdict ----------- If you consider it just a portable speaker, Amkette Pocket speaker certainly isn’t the best of its kind out there. There are competing products that offer better sound quality for the same price. But if you factor in the useful extra features such as FM radio and torchlight, the Amkette Pocket speaker, at an asking price of Rs 999, is undoubtedly a value-for-money proposition.
