Does the Job!
I'm a whittler, I have a lot of carving knives, and they're all carbon blades. This stuff works great on keeping my knives rust-free, and it's great for my bicycle also! It's easy to use, and you can turn the cap to the left to close it. Doesn't have a weird smell, and overall takes care of my metals. Hooray buy it!

Works As Stated
Great stuff. Used this on a bunch of surplus ammo cans that had surface rust on them from being in storage in a pole barn for decades. Sprayed each can down completely, let them sit for 3 days to evaporate some, hit them with a brass brush, and all of the rust spots were gone. Also, sprayed down a recently-acquired SKS that had seen better days. The metal had surface rust, the chamber and barrel were severely neglected, as were both piston rods, trigger group, gas tube, butt plate, and the bolt carrier group. Basically, the rifle looked like it was stored in a pole barn in the tropics somewhere. Everything looked terribly neglected. I used half of a can just on the SKS, which is a LOT of product. A little goes a long way, and it does penetrate. Left for a week wrapped in cheesecloth to keep it saturated and to help pull off the rust, dirt and whatever else was on it. Unwrapped it, hit it with some Purple Power degreaser (diluted 2:1), rinsed with hot water and used shop air to dry it off. Afterwards, it looked 30 years newer and 98% of the surface rust was gone. It will need refinished in the future, but this stuff gave it a serious face-lift and cleaning it desperately needed. If only it could be used on the original wood stock. *sigh* Anyway, worth the money. It seriously works great.

Good on rust
Only used this product a few times so far but works very well so far spray is nice and smooth and seems to keep rust of items decent for the money

Works soooo good.
Unreal. Not only does this penetrate and help break things loose but makes it feel like new. Especially useful on the rustiest of cable ratchets.

I was excited to try this, but it fails to even spray.
I went to use some of this brand new unused gear hugger and both cans fail to spray at all. I’m not sure if it’s the eco friendly propellant they used or the low ish temps in my garage (mid 40s) but, I have two cans full of liquid I cannot use. My WD40, CLP and PB blaster all work in this temp range, but this was a fairly expensive experiment that did not go well. I’ll give the seller a bit of time to respond or replace it otherwise it’s getting returned. Eco friendly is great and all but it needs to actually propel liquid out of the can in order for this to be useful. I’d love to be able to rate the function of the product but I can’t even get that far into using it.

Works great on everything!
The best degreaser on clothes I have ever used. So far I haven’t found anything it won’t get out! Cooking a lot I do get some grease on my clothes. One grandson is a chef and gets grease splatters. This Gear Hugger works on all of it.
