Spectacular with hidden perks
My experience with this CPU has been a noticeable speed boost from my X4 975, and gives superior performance than my Intel i7-960, at *stock* speeds. I haven't OC'ed it except to see whether it was made with OCing in mind. At 4.1 GHz this chip stays cool enough you can get by without having to buy anything gigantic or expensive. Watching a full HD movie on VLC with 10+ tabs open in firefox, chatting on skype+IRC *and* a temp monitor running... this thing hasn't gone above 56% with most cores underclocked via the auto-power-saving features. The important info follows: *it assumes the buyer is basing their choice on what has the muscle to run their taxing apps, and that the other options being considered are other choices in the same line (though most of this applies when deciding between an i5 and this cpu)*1. Good single core performance. Articles bothering to measure this are rare, but the FX-6300 actually *outperforms* the more expensive 8-core models in running tasks dependent on individual core performance rather than the number of cores.I'll cut to the practical info to take from that: multimedia-oriented programs will benefit from more cores (so graphic artists would want more cores) and to a lesser extent, gaming will benefit from greater single-core performance.*Nobody* mentions this fact, and honestly I'm writing this review primarily to get that information out there, since the default logic would be that if anything the 6 core is definitely inferior to the 4 cores, or that the 8 cores would be faster in every way bar none. Also, if you're just browsing, checking email and watching youtube and skyping etc... don't worry! 6-cores and the stock 3.5Ghz speed is already way overkill :)2: When you are weighing how much money to invest in your CPU, the only price/performance comparisons are vs intel's products. This is superior to the 4-core Vishera's hands down..Spending another 3k-4k for a 8350 or 8320 is either a no brainer upgrade or a complete waste of money depending on your needs. New sockets or redesigned architecture will make the FX line in general obsolete before you start being thankful you splurged for that extra power back when the difference wasn't noticeable. Eg: Not the right component to upgrade for "future proofing".Put simply; Even everyday users will benefit from an upgrade from the 4-core to 6-core at very little expense for the higher performance, and 6 cores @ the easily OCed 3.5GHz is still ample for intensive desktop use. Even some intensive-program users won't see an improvement worth even $3k more for the upgrade to 8 cores.Basically, 6 cores is in the "able to handle whatever you're going to throw at it" category, whereas 8 cores is in the "Unless you run a FPS in windowed mode while transcoding a video, you'll probably never utilize the extra performance you dropped cash on, and it'll likely be a matter of speediness rather than true increased capability when it is utilized"3: Everything out there is requiring less and less power. Not even enthusiasts need 1000 watt PSU's anymore The difference between 125 vs 95 watts TDP may mean a better GPU, more OCing room or just less PSU wear out. Use an online power estimater and you might find the extra 30 watts means letting you use a better GPU or spending less on a PSU! Don't overlook the potential advantages your complete build might have by needing less power than the rest of the piledriversBuy it from here to get 10% CashBack (as Amazon pay balance) - Aditya4u .com/12

Decide First! then buy
Pros>>>Easy multitaskingSignificant fps improvement in gamesEasily overclockable!Cons>>>Not so great single core performance...No other cons! Please read Carefully if u are buying this processor and u have no plans for changing it in future, then only go for it....But if u are going to buy this processor and have plans to upgrade the processor in future do not buy it! instead go for and i3 4160Following are the reasonsThere is no point in upgrading further from this cpu as the 8320, 8350 etc are not that good, they nearly have the same performance! And if u are planning to upgrade your cpu further go for an i3 4150 which has LGA 1150 socket (which can accomodate any new intel cpu)though the i3 is dual core it has better single core performance than fx 6300 but sure the i3 cannot be overclocked.both processors have there pros and cons, but the intel cpu can be upgraded to a much better one like a i5 4690k while the amd doesn't promise better processors.

The Beast, Best Upgrade for older PCs 👍😎
This processor is a beast, it can handle most task thrown at it. It is a 3 module, 2 core per module so 6 core CPU with 1.2 billion transistors. Despite being technology from 2012, they are still in production and mine was 2017 made. This CPU is black edition CPU meaning you can easily overclock or even underclock it using unlocked multiplier in BIOS.It also has the latest instruction set like SSE 4.1, SSE 4.2, AVX etc. when this CPU was introduced it was for high end PCs, but now despite being 2012 technology this CPU still rocks and rivals many latest low (celeron, pentium, i3) to mid range (i5) CPUs and even beats older generation i7. This CPU easily beats the popular Pentium G4560 in performance. If you have a AM3+ motherboard and dont want to fully upgrade your PC then upgrading to this CPU is better choice then going to other AM3 socket phenom or athlon CPU which lacks instruction set like SSE4.2. latest CPU dont support Windows 7, only windows 10, so if you want to use Windows 7 and dont want to fully upgrade your PC, then this is best choice. Earlier I had a Athlon x260 and after upgrading I can see major performance improvement. If you want to use this CPU then visit the motherboard manufacture website to see the list of compatible CPUs, I have a Asus AM3+ motherboard. AM3+ is backward compatible with AM3 so there is high chances of you motherboard supporting both. The only problem with this CPU is that it overheats, this is due to high TDP of 95W & AMD Turbo Core technology which automatically overclocks the CPU giving 300mhz extra when needed, the max of this CPU is 3.5Ghz, under turbo core (boost) the speed goes upto 3.8Ghz, This causes heat. So to avoid overheating issue, its best to turn off turbo core feature in your BIOS. In winter time the CPU temperature remains cool about 10-12C on idle and 20-30C on loads like web browsing, watching video. I am using the stock heatsink and cooler and they are working fine, and I have disabled the turbo core.If you are getting a FX then get a CPU modal with 2nd number 3, like 4300, 6300. 2nd number 3 are the piledriver version of FX, which is a minor upgrade over the original FX codenamed bulldozer.I purchased this from Amazon global store for Rs. 4000 + Rs 1880 duty + Rs. 480 shipping, it cost me around Rs. 6400. if you can get this for under 6-7k then its a good deal, else look FX 4300 or get used CPU which are available under 3k.:) 👍😎
