Gooey is the best name for these Efectiv Nutrition Chocolate Protein bars because they are. Unlike a lot of protein bars (and I've tried loads of them) there aren't any nuts or crispies in the middle, just a soft yielding chewy chocolate filling with an even more yielding chocolate cream down the middle, all covered in chocolate-like coating. It might taste like a sugar-packed candy bar but there's less sugar in here than you might expect and a bit more protein, you get a full 20g serving of protein which is great.Also there isn't too much of that gritty texture you often get with protein bars, presumably from the protein powder they added. They're definitely best suited to anyone with a VERY sweet tooth who doesn't even want to pretend protein bars are part of a balanced diet if they contain two peanuts and an almond. They're a good size too so as a post-workout snack they're quite satisfying.

I was very thankful and grateful to receive these gooey chocolate Protein bars from Efectiv. I hadn't heard of the brand or bars before but the words "Gooey Chocolate" were enough to convince me and have me thoroughly looking forward to their arrival!This is obviously a box twelve bars, but I have eaten just one for now for the purposes of review! I must say the first thing I noticed was that these bars are a good size - they remind me of regular sized chocolate bars from the 90s or 2000s before all this "shrinkflation" nonsense happened. They are chocolate covered bars and all you see from the outside is chocolate. Biting in to the bar it is cake-like inside and there is a small amount of gooeyness, not a huge amount that I expected from the title of the bars, but a small amount. The taste is chocolatey and pretty good. I mentioned 'cake-like' there and you know what these remind me of? They're like those Mini Rolls. Very close to those I would say. So hey, if you like Mini Rolls and you're looking for some Protein Bars then I think you may have just found your perfect match!Overall I'm pretty happy and impressed by these. I do like them, because I do like Mini Rolls! But I am a slight bit disappointed that the gooeyness advertised is/was a little underwhelming. I think if you are going to go out of your way to advertise something as being "gooey" then it should live up to that promise, which these bars don't do particularly well in my opinion. I think a four star review is fair and accurate in my opinion.

With their very chewy texture and yummy flavour, these are my new favourite protein bars!Sometimes chocolate protein bars can be a bit much for me, but I found these delicious. They're not too sweet with the chocolate flavouring, they don't have any unpleasant after-taste, and I can easily finish the whole bar without having that sickly feeling.With the bars containing nearly 21g of protein, I do find them quite filling. They're ideal for me as I don't always get time for lunch, so these are a good filler until I can get a proper meal later in the day. They're handy to keep in my handbag for when I want it on the go.At £22 for 12 bars, this makes them about £1.84 per bar, which I think is very reasonable.Overall, I'm very impressed with them, and I would highly recommend them!

Pros:I am in love that each of their bars boasts 20.6g of protein, hence an excellent choice after working out or when one needs something satisfying.With minimal sugar, these bars fit perfectly in my low-sugar diet while still satisfying my sweet tooth.It is individually wrapped, and this makes it so convenient for any busy day or just to snack on when in a rush.Surprisingly, they fill me up between meals, which is a great plus.Cons:I found bars to be quite dry, which isn't everyone's cup of tea, and hence they might not enjoy that.The bitty texture adds to being dry and crumbly.While they're marketed as 'gooey,' I would say that they tend more towards the chewy instead of the gooey, which may not satisfy some palates.I would say that the box design needs a little work; with the graphic in the bottom right, it looks a bit too much like part of the male anatomy, which can be off-putting.They're a little high-end compared to normal snack bars, but I feel the protein content makes it worth it for me.Verdict:I still recommend Protein Bars for anyone desiring a high-protein snack without having to give up too much flavour. Although they were dry in texture, bitty, and had some flaws in packaging design, I have added them to my rotation of snacks. I also like the fact that I can indulge in them and not feel too guilty about sugar consumption. Perfect for workouts, busy days, or even treating myself to something chocolatey.

My daughters gym bunny boyfriend devoured these snacks. Apparently they are just the right amount of sweetness and not too try like some other brands are. Perfect for a post workout treat.
