We purchased several of these cameras to help identify what critters occupy some rural property we recently purchased. I selected this brand because I had tried it previously with good results and I like that it uses a standard size SD data card. Other brands often opt for the micro cards, which I find too small to handle easily. I saved a little money by purchasing the black color instead of camo and they are both equally difficult to spot in my experience. The camera is easy to set up. We've had good results with both daytime and night shots, including our very first sighting of a mountain lion after more than 25 years of looking. The cameras have detected creatures as small as mice and many others, including skunks, owls and, of course, hundreds of rabbits. We eagerly look forward to checking our camera shots on a regular basis. The findings have caused me to further improve my safety protocols when hiking because I now have a clear view of who else is out there!

The picture quality is ok but not outstanding compared to a couple I have borrowed. The lag means what triggered the camera is usually out of the way. I haven't gotten no nighttime pictures or videos. I started with videos and when there weren't any tried JUST pictures. I have a feral cat colony I monitor. I put this up near the path they have to take across my patio to get to the feeding station. I KNOW there are possums and racoons that come after dark I can see the evidence left by them and tracks. but no pictures. I initially thought I must have set something up wrong, so I have tried it with several different settings and locations with no nighttime videos. The pictures of the cats are blurry I can usually identify individuals but only in about half the pictures it captures. Also the information here in Amazon says contact them with problems but I don't see anything that says HOW to contact them.Update-My previous comments got their attention and their customer support was very eager to solve my problems via email.After changing batteries a 2nd time (also recommended not using rechargeable batteries) and putting in a new card, the night vision is working.The camera is very sensitive and picks up blowing trees and grass as well as animals. I recommend checking it often 2 days of videos netted me about 800 video clips, which took a long time to review. And with the lag between the motion detection and the recording starting, most of those were empty. I have tried over the last several weeks to put it in different locations, with different settings and hoped for better results. It's a mixed bag. I have managed to capture at least a few times the racoons, opposums, deer, and even a skunk once. I think it would be fine if you were using it to track large and slower moving animals (or people) but it still doesn't do what I was looking for.I have updated my review to reflect the attentive customer service and that they are willing to give me a refund because I am not satisfied with this camera.

Got this camera bc it was cheap, I wanted a camera in my backyard and also always wanted a trail camera. So, I'm not using this as a trail camera, but as a security one. It may not be the best, but it was super cheap and it works. Got this camera and tried to install it when I realized it would only take a sd card up to 32 gb, I had the 128. In the next day I had my back yard burglarized and they took a saw, my fish tank light, a flood light and IDK what else, it was a mess. So, if you're short of money and do't want to spend 1000 bucks on a security system, at least get this. It's dirt cheap and it's coll to catch the cats and your roommate on the camera lol. Image is pretty good. Next time I go camping I will take this with me. Working for like 2 months now. Batteries are still going, under Florida rain and sun. So I do recommend this product.

Updated review. Customer service quickly responded to my issue with nighttime capture on the camera. They quickly replaced it with a new camera at no charge to me and I tried it at home first to test and then outside where I needed critter monitoring. This new camera is great. They actually gave me a different model the woods G500 as opposed to what I originally ordered which was the G200. The G500 is a wonderful camera with loads more recoding options!! That you for such great, quick customer service response and resolution to my issue. A+old review:Daytime captures are fine it’s not capturing any night images. I know there is activity in front of the camera as I have sand sat down and there are plenty of foot prints and yet there are no images of what is leaving these foot prints.

The company reached out to remove my previous 1-star review (the night vision stopped working) and they offered a promo code / gift card in exchange. I removed the review, and they never responded back to me. Not sure if that's even legal under Amazon's TOS, but it's definitely dishonest. I'm leaving another 1-star review.

Amended 8/3/21They sent a new camera which included a readable support manual, which is what I wanted in the first place. At least I can now do more than turn it on or off.This might be a good product if there was a usable operator manual. I tried to get assistance from the company but basically got Ignored. If you're familiar with game cameras fine but if you're a newbie like me, do not even consider one of these. Unless you're a glutton for punishment.

Update: it turns out rechargeable batteries worked fine!For the price and for my needs, this is a very good trail cam. I got it to figure out what has been eating my tomato plants in the middle of the night. Turns out it was squirrels and a raccoon! I like that this has two mounting options. It the woods, I would probably use the strap, but in my yard I was able to use the mount to affix it to my fence. The controls are simple and picture quality and night vision are about what you would expect from a budget trail cam. The one downside is that it requires 8 AA batteries and rechargeable batteries are not recommended. Aside from that, I am pleased.

For the few times this thing worked, it was great, 5 weeks later, it no longer works. Avoid!

I bought this to see what critters were causing trouble under my deck. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the images. I do find the odd picture is blank but it is working for what I need it for.

I was quite happy but after a couple of months of using it, it stopped working. I am quite disappointed.
