X-Sense Smart Home Security System with App Alerts, Alexa Compatible, AS05

A brilliantly simple security system. Perfect for a workshop, garage or flat. It took minutes to set up and has detected intrusion every time I have tested it. The door and motion sensors are reliable and I haven’t had any false alarms since I installed it 4 weeks ago. There’s no outside siren but the base station is quite loud and if you link it to a smoke alarm it sets that off too. It also sends notifications to your phone via the app. It came with a keypad for setting/unsetting but I use the app instead. The only thing it’s missing is a battery backup to keep it working if the power goes off. I have connected it via a USB power bank, leaving the powerbank charging all the time. That does the trick nicely.

I compared several budget alarm systems to replace an ageing BT setup. What I wanted was straightforward: a simple keypad alongside smartphone control — and this system fits that brief well. Setup is fairly easy, and the base station doubles as both a Wi-Fi hub and the internal alarm sounder.It’s true there’s no external siren, but realistically most people pay little attention to outside alarms anyway. Yes, the base station could theoretically be unplugged by an intruder — but if I wanted something close to impenetrable, I’d be looking at systems costing £300 or more. This is about peace of mind. Asleep and alone, it’s ideal. Away from home, a quick glance at my phone tells me all I need to know. Best feature-scheduling the system to arm my doors at night.The system is well presented and clearly well thought out. That said, I did need to make risers for the door sensors, as uPVC doors aren’t always flush with their frames. Ring supplies risers as standard, and X-Sense could easily include them for pennies. A bright, visible window sticker would also have been a welcome addition.For the price, I’m very happy with it — it’s another sensible layer of home security.One week on I added a Leak Detector to the system..top notch!

I bought 2 kits in order to secure my house and a selection of outbuildings. I am delighted with one caveate; the system lacks an external siren. It is quick and simple to install, intuitive to operate and the sensors have good range to cover a reasonable sized house. The value is excellent, I have too systems working off one easy to use app for a price less than the annual service fee of my old system and with no subscription fees for the app or notification service. I am looking forward now to adding sensors for a fire alarm system. I am happy to recommend the X-Sense system

Great system. Easy to set up and configure all the different devices. The base station is loud however it’s lacking an additional indoor siren and outdoor siren. I have added interlinked smoke alarms so it triggers these and makes the alarm sound throughout the house.

bought this on 28thnov 2025after reading all the instructions I found it a bit confusing but managed to get it up and running after a couple of hours so a few tips that might help otherstip 1 go to the app it is a lot clearer to understandtip 2 dont worry if your door edges are round or beveled you can still fix the sensors at a angle if you have to it still works finetip 3 the height of the motion sensor can be put higher than 6ft mine is nearly 7ft and works greattip 4 the widows are same as the doors if they have a round or beveled edge still work fine make sure you test them before you put them upand finally you get a nice ding dong each time you open and close the door hope this helps!

This was so easy to set up and works great. Able to activate and deactivate the alarm from the app and rename the sensors in the app to which door has been opened etc. Very well thought out system and gives me peace of mind that my garage is secure. The motion detection is quick from been tripped to notifying your phone.

Easy to install. The app is relatively intuitive. Adding new devices is easy enough, even though it feels like time could be saved if the set supplied had been pre-configured as a group (rather than having to set up every single device from scratch). Loses a star because there is no external sounder, and as loud as the internal sounder is, it would be easy for a thief to identify its location and simply unplug it without anyone in the outside world being any the wiser. Think it would be a better system with two PIR's and one door sensor instead of the other way around. The sensors themselves are good quality, and the motion detection is effective within a fairly short range (e.g. 10 feet or so). Loses a star for the lack of an external sounder.

Works well. Installed it in my small motorbike garage. Works well really decent range. The only upgrade would be a alarmed shock sensor in case someone tries tampering with the door.
