Excellent for standard windows, not for skylight
Bought x large size to do both my bedroom (standard window) and babys room (skylight) as she still co-sleeps in my room part of night. Blind was easy to cut. As mentioned blind is quite heavy to manoeuvre by yourself (I may just be weak) to keep it sticking up and get it tight to get the other side stuck. Ended up sticking some velcro in the wrong place but you do get quite a few pieces so should be OK. Doesn't look pretty on the outside (to neighbours) and is a bit of a faff to put it up and down twice a day. But blocks the light amazingly. Literally my room is pitch black when it is all smoothed out and sitting tight on the frame. The skylight window hasn't covered quite as well. The velcro pieces don't seem to stay stuck to the wooden frame of the skylight and they do fall down. Probably weren't made for skylights but was cheaper than a blind. Blocks out maybe 70-80% of light in baby room but will probably opt for the blind as it is difficult to open window etc with blackout blind in place. Velcro has come unstuck several times and had to be replaced as lost stickiness. However the velcro on standard pic window is holding fine and have been taking it up and down regularly for a month. Overall though I do love this product

Well thought out and very practical
I use this everyday night to block light in a bedroom. I’m very sensitive to light waking me up early and this material really is great. Once the pads are around the window frame (which you don’t notice) it’s very quick to put up and pull off in the morning. No need to ware an eye mask anymore.I have used it everyday since I’ve had it. Really helps me sleep

Fit for purpose
Superior product. The silver side deflects sunlight. Velcro patches are white to match window frames. Have not used the suction pads.

Works as intended in child's room
First off, the material itself lets absolutely no outdoor light through it (my photo was taken with direct morning sunlight on the window). I've got this on my toddler's bedroom window since they basically just sleep in there, and it keeps the room plenty dark so they won't wake prematurely or be bothered by late sunsets. As my photo shows, the only light is coming through the edge of the window simply because I didn't leave enough excess material when I cut it to window size.I haven't used the suction cups, but my guess is they don't work well. The velcro works perfectly fine stuck to the window frame. All in all, I'm very pleased with this.

Is it night time? Is it day time? Who knows when you've got THIS blackout blind!
Edit: I am no longer using this - although it does 'blackout' the window/room, I can't get it to stay attached. The suction cups/vecro keep popping off and the extra velcro pads don't work on a plastered wall - you will have to buy extra items to keep this in place. P. S. Command stripes don't work on this fabric!Easy to install - less than 5 mins installation time on the extra large blind. Stick suction cups to the window glass - the suction cups have velcro on them - then stick the velcro sticky pads onto the suction cups, remove film and position blind, and press down so that the sticky pad adheres to the blind and voila. It works, it makes the room very very dark. It fits discreetly behind my wooden venetian blinds so doesn't ruin the look of my room. It doesn't look brilliant from the outside - keep this in mind if you're installing in a front window. Loses 1 star as the sticky pads which are included to attach to the frame of the window for extra blackout power and secure fixing don't actually stick to the frame or the blind, so there is a tiny crack of light that comes through round the very edge of the window frame, so I'll probably buy some command strips for this. Oh and it isn't hemmed so you can cut to size which is helpful. Whether it helps my toddler sleep better yet is unknown.

Really does cut out light
I bought this to try to stop waking so early in the summer mornings. I do not intend using it as a travel item so cut it roughly to the size of my bedroom window and spent ages working out where to put suction cups and corresponding velcro pads before realising that it just sits better (flatter) without the suction cups. As a result, I've ditched them and just used the small velcro strips around the window frame instead. They're discrete and small but still do the job well. It hasn't fallen down once and I've not used them all. Now it's a simple matter to take the blind down in the morning (if I want to) and put it back up again at night. I am not confident that it would work as well if not cut to size - it may be better than nothing, but the folds in fabric will allow some light in at the sides. I've just ordered a second identical pack to put on the front bedroom during the current hot weather. I plan to leave them both up during the day to keep the upstairs cooler while it's so hot. Only other thing to note is that it arrived with one or two tiny pinprick holes in the material, but they're of no consequence and don't affect its overall effect. After 3 weeks of use (up and down most days), I've seen no other holes appear. I'm pleased with this purchase and feel it was a good decision.

Slight modification makes this super resilient in windy conditions!
I've had one of these blackout blinds for a few years now (cheaper than Velux blinds!) and it's great: easy to install, easy to put up/take down, 10/10 stuff. So I bought this larger set with the goal of cutting it in half, so 2 blinds for the price of 1 (you get 12 suction cups with it). Now, I have these installed on velux windows that are at 45 degrees - pretty much the worse angle for tension - and the windows are often open a bit - so lots of wind force hitting them. While the velcro works 90% of the time, when it gets a bit windy they do come down. Granted this issue is very *very* specific to me... but I fixed it by taking out the screw on the velcro suction pad, and just screwing the suction pad directly to the blind - circumventing the velcro. Now a hurricane can hit them and they don't budge!TL;DR: These are great. Cheap, easy to install, easy to use, properly blacks out a room in broad daylight.
