Enjoyed these.
Really liked the flavor of these. Great crema, too. Just wish I could get them a little closer to the roast date. But overall, really enjoyed the espresso I made with these.

Very good solid espresso.
I have been normally drinking this coffee at Eataly around the world or in Italy and I did not know until recently that Amazon was selling it. Lately I have been drinking the Lavazza Professional line like Top Class and Grande Riserva or Blue Bottle Espresso, which are very good coffees, this one is a little better for my taste. I did my first cup at home using a KitchenAid espresso maker the latest model, and using the same grinder setting that I was using for the beans mentioned above and it came out just perfect with a lot of crema, a good density and flavor with zero acidity or bitterness. Also, the price is similar to the Lavazza's and less expensive of Blu Bottle and illy, so i think i will keep this on my subscription.

Smooth and so good
Delicious. I was hesitant because of the price, but it’s worth it. Smooth, creamy, has a great head and the smell is amazing! I think this is worth the price!

Not my favorite
This is not my favorite Italian espresso. I find the flavor slightly muted and a bit too bitter. These are mass produced blends sold at a boutique price.

Dark chocolate and vanilla cream, every time
This is a review of the Caffé Vergnano Espresso. If you like classic Italian espresso, then these beans really deliver. It's extremely easy to dial in, although I do find that with the many broken beans, the grind consistency and some clumping was a slight challenge. The RDT "Ross Droplet Technique" method of adding a couple of droplets of water to the beans before grinding, helped to avoid excessive clumping, and with thorough distribution of grinds and careful tamping, I was able to avoid channeling, although it was a slight issue with these beans when ground dry. Generally, I was able to achieve consistent results without any difficulty, and the resulting espresso was almost always delicious: a rich, dark chocolate flavour with a very creamy mouth feel, and a hint of vanilla to add a little complexity. Initially, there was a hint of ashiness, but there was mostly just a rather pleasant roasted coffee aftertaste. I found that lowering the water temperature reduced any ashy flavours so they were almost undetectable. The crema is the richest and longest lasting I've ever experienced (there's probably quite a high percentage of robusta in this blend). Some would say there is too much of it, but it tastes good, so I can't see how that's a problem and you can always spoon it off if you prefer less. While I will certainly be buying many more kilo bags of these beans in future, I'd be very interested to try the Anticabottega (lighter, and fruiter, it seems), and perhaps the Granaroma, for an even more powerful hit of espresso (but only if I can find a 250g bag, to test). All things considered, this might become my go to "off the shelf" espresso blend for the foreseeable future.

Smooth, non-bitter espressos
Makes excellent espresso (freshly ground and brewed using a basic espresso machine).
