Great for making sauces and easy to clean
Very happy with product

Strong, easy to use and clean. Brilliant.
This is wonderful. I used this type of mouli grater at cordon bleu school, and they were a good type. This one though, is better, because of the 3 arms, which can then fit most bowls, also rubberised so don't slip or make a noise. Then the arm that turns is neatly clipped in . It's extremely strong, and pushes all the juices through. Easy to take apart and clean either by hand or in the dishwasher.

Will buy more!
This reminds me of the one that my grandma had and passed over to my mum. It lasted forever and I am sure this one will too. It is sturdy and very stable, easy to mount/demount. It was a revelation that the original way to remove the internal blade was not lost in translation due to all the cheap China stuff around. Worth every penny. 4 stars only because they haven’t thought about fixing the old problem of steel spindle grinding powder coming out down below in the centre when you slightly overload it.

Well made.
This is a very well made item that I bought exclusively to remove the tiny pips from figs and I was hugely disappointed when it proved to be completely useless. I can see it would be fine with apples and other fruits but figs are extremely stubborn and don't like being pulled about so it isn't the Oxo food Mills fault in all honesty.

Well designed
I've had a few food mills over the years and this is the best yet. The problem I've had in the past has been that the discs have not been stainless steel and they've tended to corrode and stain even when I think I've dried them properly and ruined if put in the dishwasher by mistake. The Good Grips is well-designed with a comfortable knob on the handle; has feet that give a stable base when extended over the edge of a bowl but fold in neatly for storage. I particularly like the clever clipping mechanism for holding the paddle in place: a big improvement on my previous struggle to get the ends shoved under the side brackets. The sides of the mill are tall and pitched quite steeply which has the advantage of keeping the food piled up above the blade rather than riding up the sides and having to be pushed manually down onto the disc. Altogether an excellent product worth the extra cost. UPDATE April 2012: It's still performing well. I've just discovered something that may be useful to others. I was making raspberry coulis and found that the food mill fits perfectly over Pyrex Glass Measuring Jug, 1L the three folding feet clipped down around the rim hold the mill securely onto the jug.

Not very good
I am so disappointed in this product. I have arthritis and find it hard to mash food using a normal masher. I had an old food mill that needed replacing and decided on this one after read the reviews. I wish I hadn't bothered, the food will not pass through any of the discs and the handle with the blade on it that you turn to push and pass the food through the discs just moves around on top of the food with out actually doing anything as it is too loose and you have to put so much pressure on to the handle to actually get anything to pass through I had to get my partner to help me. Once we actually managed to get the potato to go through the disc not only was it cold but it had black bits from the black rubber stopper that the discs sit on. I think it must be damaged in some way as it really does not work in the way it is suppose to, but I will try and replace it with a different make as I don't want another one of these.

Could be better
Not bad but not as efficient as my previous mouli. I needed a replacement for my unbranded, French tin mouli that I have used for 48 years which eventually got rusty. I made my usual batch of tomato soup today and it took nearly 30 minutes to get it though this new mill - a job that my old one did in about 5 minutes. The blade needs to be closer to the discs, all a bit frustrating as it is not a cheap item.

Throw your electric blender away
OXO are now producing an interesting array of kitchen products along with those little brown stock cubes wrapped up in foil delight. I bought a great pair of OXO kitchen scissors - robust and lifetime sharp. So I felt confident - sight unseen - in buying this food mill. To be honest I did not know I needed it until a recent soup recipe advised on passing the mash through a food mill - I had been tossing the soup into a blender - and this was really too aggressive and spoiled delicate soup flavours. The inner section is stainless steel as are the cutters and a spiral that forces the food through the cutters. The outside body is robust plastic and feels tough for the job. There are three legs that fold out - this lets you use the mill over a bowl or saucepan. Once set up the whole device is firm and easy to use - it just needs a back and forth technique to make sure solids are captured by the spiral and forced through the cutter. Two of the cutters are very fine I am not sure what I'll use those for yet but the larger cutter makes a nice job of grating down cooked vegetables in your soup - my first try was duck soup Moroccan style - the missus loved it with lentiles verte. Using the mill retained great flavours and was a lot easier to clean than a blender.

Impressive!
The little food mill that could! Well This is a nice food mill. It is smalker than my older one which indeed had the wiper on the bottom and springs and stuff to futz with. Now here it is. This is nit a gadget that you will use lots so ask yourself if you need a bigger one. There again it depends on your family size. So this is a sturdy little bugger. It will get the job done well. If you need a larger one to store 8-10 months of the year, do your homework and pick a top of the line one. I wanted one and talked myself out of it to see just what this OXO one looked like and how it performed. I make my own applesauce, tomatoe sauce primarily because today with all the foodborne illnesses cropping up, and the cost element. I decided to be cautious abd process some of my own healthier items. I have a very good potato ricer, but think will do a great job. This mill is very easy to use and clean. Its is a great mill at a reasonable price for smaller portions which works for me. If I find the need for a larger one, I will upgrade myself and add to my kitchen stash. Almost all the top reviewers still find this perfect and a number 1 choice. The thing with Amazon, get it home and look it over, see if it will fit your needs. If not, trade it for the best. Each of us have dufferent needs. I am impressed with the build quality and with 3 blades, you can achieve the texture you are after. Mashed potatoes will be a game changer. Get one for yourself and gift one as it is one of the last kitchen items we spend money on. It is a really nice gift along with a flat of organic tomatoes, bag of apples and one of potatoes. Food tastes heavenly from its use. go for it!

Build quality needs more development
The product was a shot in the dark purchase. Fortunately it turned out well for me. Needed a tool to assist in extracting pulp from seeds. The main body is made of ABS plastic. It is pretty durable and resistant to acidity. The internal elements are made of chrome plated steel. The build quality is a 6.5/10. It didnt score well here due to the weaker bond between the handle and mill body. I would position the handle a bit lower as it tends to get a bit ticking holding the mill while turning the paddle.
