Outperformed by a cheaper film antenna
Looks much better than the film antennas when fitted and on paper had more gain. However I found the signal weak and susceptible to interference from reversing camera and headunit when charging phone/using android auto. I replaced it with a cheaper film antenna aslo from Eightwood which has worked without issue. Shame really. So I would recommend the film antena version for use on a VW T5 with a Sony headunit.

Get a proper exterior aerial
To be completely honest, it is medioca, not the best reception, I think the other screen aerial is better with the foil strip, this one drops signal all the time, gets annoying

Does What It Should, Very Well
I bought this to replace a roof mounted magnetic aerial that snapped when I was trying to remove the antenna from the base. The roof mounted aerial worked very well but I didn’t want another because this one had snapped and another, on a previous car, had rusted.I have used windscreen mount aerials before and found the reception from windscreen aerials to be generally unsatisfactory unless in a strong signal area. However, the Eightwood DAB aerial has a slightly different design, with the leads at the bottom, and I felt that this may suit the rear side window of my car, an Audi A3 Sportback, where I would be able to position it vertically and centrally in the window.Having fitted the aerial, I am very pleased with the reception. It pulls in any station as well as the magnetic, roof mounted aerial. In areas, like behind hills, where low power stations would sometimes drop out, the Eightwood maintains the signal better and with fewer dropouts.

Unfortunately my signal got worse
I bought this with high hopes, as others had said it was better than the screen mounted type (the ones that look like a thin piece of wire in clear sticky back plastic) but sadly as soon as I connected this one to earth and allowed my Sony DAB radio to send power to it, the actual signal dropped, which I was gobsmacked about, I expected it as a non passive powered aerial to actually give better reception than the passive screen mounted one and when power was added the signal got worse, no idea at all what is going on there. It does work in passive mode so I unearthed it and am just using it passively or non-powered, but like I say, its definitely not as good reception as the real cheap screen mounted one I had previously which is very dissapointing.Looks like I'm going to have to go the whole path of removing all of my roof lining and getting a shark style external aerial fitted at some point, as I've heard that roof mounted ones are ultimately the best solution, its just the hassle of trying to fit one of these that puts me off, as my car doesn't already have a working roof mounted one, instead getting its FM/AM feed from the rear window elements (X-Type Jaguars eh!)

Works faultlessly
I'd fitted a BMW DAB head unit as an upgrade and wanted to receive DAB radio without the expense of replacing the rear windscreen and buying the separate antenna, which is how DAB was installed at the factory. This aerial is so slim that I was able to fit to the top of the rear windscreen but underneath the rear headlining so it remains hidden from view. I've driven many brand new BMWs with DAB radio and have not noticed any drop in reception with this aerial. I did need to wait a few minutes for my head unit to 'wake-up' and recognise that DAB reception was now available but it has worked perfectly ever since. Highly recommended.

Disappointing
I was expecting great things off the aerial . Cleaned window, stuck aerial to top of windscreen cleaned the door pillar down to bare metal and screwed connector to the door pillar . Connected to my dab radio using an adapter and rescanned . Signal bar is constantly at 1 bar(with oe part it bobbed around between 1 and 5 ) . Drove for 10 meters and lost signal ,not great. Tested on the road today and it's worse than the aerial that came with the dab radio . £30 for an aerial and connectors that's worse than the one that came with a £40 dab radio.

Performing well
Purchased to replace the aerial supplied with a Kenwood DBA/FM car radio and fitted in a 987 Boxster. Experiencing lots of drop-outs in West Sussex on country roads. It took about fifteen minutes to install (II was already conversant on how to remove the trim from the A post). A convenient nut on the top of the A pots gave me a good anchor point for the earth tag and I fitted the aerial inside the plastic trim of the A pots (vertically). Making my usual journey of some 20 miles through Ashdown and St Leonard's forests I listened to a low power local radio broadcast and the only, momentary, drop-out was at the bottom of a dip between two inclines. The same journey with the supplied aerial would lead to between four and five drop-outs lasting for up to a minute. So far so good.

Reception terrible.
A absolutely terrible, returned it.I didn't want something stuck on the windows so I opted for this unit so i could hide it inside the dash or trim. Installed and found a suitable earth. Ensured phantom power was switched on on my stereo. Scanned for channels. Terrible signal. Tried many location in the car including removing most of the trim to ensure the cable was fully extended. If Tried extending the earth cable and putting it up inside the head cloth. Even tried fixing it to various windows both horizontally and vertical. If I stood outside the car with it in my hand above my head it could.just about achieve a stable radio station. Sometimes I could find a location that worked in the car but only when the vehicle was stationary. On a journey its cut out more than its playing. I've wasted an entire day with this and it's just not fit for purpose.I have since tried one of the powered units that converts the cars existing antenna into a DAB and FM output and have been pleased with results. Been running round the city for a day and not lost signal once.Bottom line: if you want to stick a pointless black strip on the window of your car this is the product for you. Otherwise save your money
