The Letter Carrier delivers more than letters...
Emily Cooper is one determined lady rancher who keeps her promises! Emily promised her late grandfather before he died that she would deliver the letters he’d written to a special pen pal and love over 60 years ago. Come hell or high water she would. Her grandfather told Emily that she needed to get away from her home and farm for a month so she could see her future more clearly. Emily honors those pledges by going to Lightning Ridge, the home of Clarice Barton. Clarice is the person to whom Marvin, her beloved grandfather, had written a treasure trove of letters; one of which Clarice never received. Over a decade later that letter which pledged Marvin’s love to Clarice, was found and returned to him. This touching story revolves around the caring people at the two ranches Shine Hill which she left and Lightning Ridge where she has gone to deliver the letters. Along the way, she comes to care about Dotty, Clarice, and everyone else. She earns the respect and admiration of everyone at the second ranch. Most important, she earns the love of Clarice’s grandson, Greg Adams. The challenge for Emily is to decide between family, home with her hundred acres in Shine Hill or heart and Greg in Lightning Ridge.

Influenced by Real Life
Another wonderful Carolyn Brown story. This one was influenced by her own love story. Emily fulfills her promise to her grandfather to take a lost love letter to his old sweetheart after his death. While things didn't work out for them, sparks fly when their grandchildren meet. Emily and Greg have an incredible connection. Grandmother Clarissa , best friend Dottie and two other friends are the crazy characters that keep us laughing with their zany plans. The "conversations" they have pretending to be Greg on online dating sites are a hoot. The special love Mrs. Brown has for this tale shines through. It leaves you with an extra special warmth in your heart.

More sexy cowboy romance
This was a hit for me, from an author I find writes hit and miss cowboy romances. Greg was another sexy, rugged, and hard working cowboy, and a family oriented man, the best. Emily is another one of Ms Browns superwomen, she can do her heavy ranch chores quicker than most guys, even fix a truck motor while she's at it. And still help with the daily house chores, and look good doing it all. I would prefer the author write about heroines who resemble Wonder Woman less, and are more normal and natural in the strength department. And in this particular novel I thought there was too much time spent on Gregs Nana and the other senior live wires. The plot is extremely simplistic, with no villains to stir things up It is mostly a day by day account of their ranch lives and chores, with some hot romance to spice it up and move the storyline forward. I was in the mood for a cowboy romance and this filled the bill.

Incredible story - great writing - if you like western romances, this is the one you NEED to read!
As much as I've come to expect a great read from Carolyn Brown, this one blew me away. Even though I KNEW everything would work out just fine, my heart was breaking until everything did - I couldn't put it down. The story was so much more complex than many western romances - a wonderfully satisfying read. (I'm just glad I could take the time today to go ahead and finish it - I'm sure I wouldn't have been worth much at any other endeavor!)Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful book - and so glad to know she's written bunches of others. I want to read them all!

Sweet love story!
Really enjoyed this book and practically finished it in one sitting. I loved how Emily and Greg met up at his ranch and I loved all of the older women who conspired to get them together and then keep them together. Loved the scene about the cowboy auction and how Greg was fought over, and then won by Emily. One of the most touching scenes in the book was at the beginning when Greg found Emily crying in the van over the loss of her grandfather, and how he comforted her. The scene in McDonald's where Emily wipes his glasses off was also very sweet. The two kittens were adorable and I loved how Greg and Emily called them "their boys". Just an enjoyable read and my favorite of the 4 books in the series.

Refreshing and uplifting
There is no mystery or struggle in this book.It is a bona fide love story.Emily lost her grandfather and she promised him she would return some letters to a long ago pen pall. The last letter which was a proposal has been lost in the mail. Both correspondents had moved on with their lives, but Gramps wanted the lady, Clerics, to have closure. Emily takes to Clarice, her friends, and family. When she sees a photo of Greg, her grandson, the lightning strikes. If you like old fashioned communication, you will love this book.

Another Wow
This is only the second book I have read by this author, but I guarantee it won't be the last by any means. Great characters and story line, without a lot of drama. Could hardly put it down. I am very selective in the reviews I give. If it is just so so, I don't usually write a review. If it is a bad boo, I always write a review. Same with a good book. This book falls into the category of great.

cowboy meets cowgirl
Girl drives 8 hours to deliver letters from her grandfather after he dies to the woman he wrote to many years ago. She arrives and instantly feels an attraction to the woman's grandson just by seeing his picture. Boy and girl meet and sparks fly and they begin a courtship of sorts. What really adds to the book is the boy's grandmother and her friends...what a hoot they all are!! Sad to see the book end as I wanted to hear more about all the characters lives.
