Edge of Eternity

A soothing balm for the weary pilgrim.
This novel speaks the eternal truths of Christ to the soul. You will feel comforted and encouraged. This book makes me want to live every day to the Glory of Christ. One of the standout messages in the book is that fact that we don't always understand everything and sometimes we won't until we go home to Jesus; we are called to live by faith and not by sight. This novel is both written well and loaded with wonderful parables; it's entertaining but feeds the soul. Buy one for yourself and someone you love. I pray that you find it as uplifting as I have.Kyle D.In Christ!

This Book Should Never Go Out Of Print
How does one describe a book like "Edge of Eternity"? It's not a thriller or suspense or even a mystery. It's not fantasy (even though some have described it as such). It's definitely not science fiction, horror or a western. If I had to put it in a genre I'd say it was a romance. Not a love story between two people but a romance between Jesus Christ and mankind. From creation to eternity the story brings to life the struggle between Truth and lies, good and evil, light and darkness, God and Satan, eternal life and eternal death. The story is about a man who goes on a journey between heaven and hell, but not in the literal sense as one would expect. Everything he experiences is ethereal and in a way allegorical, even though it is really happening to him. The two worlds blended just as they are here on earth not as they are in eternity. The lines are clearly drawn to the reader but our main character, Nick, must find out what is truth and what is a deception.Although this book is life changing it is not a page-turner. There's not a plot that keeps you guessing or compels you to stay up late at night. At times the theology seemed Calvinistic but then Randy would clarify things with a Biblical viewpoint. The writing is excellent as with all of Randy's books. I've owned a few copies of this book but always gave them away before I had a chance to read one. Finally I made sure to read it and I'm not disappointed one bit.If you are looking for a solid Biblical, life changing novel then make sure you read this book.1 Star = Pathetic2 Stars = Fair3 Stars = Good4 Stars = Excellent5 Stars = Life changing

This is the first Christian book I read as a new Christian over 20 years ago. Absolutely worth reading again. Inspiring! Motivating! Convicting!

Worth a second read!
Like all allegories, this book will have you more and more perplexed throughout, making you read through too fast to get to the end and have your questions answered. The problem with that is, your questions are never answered completely and you begin to wonder what you missed by skimming over. This in itself makes it worth a second read.I read this book several years ago, then loaned it out and it never was returned. But I did not forget it. Over time, I forgot who wrote the book and from time to time I realized I needed to read the book again to put my mind at rest. When I discovered it in Kindle format I couldn't wait to buy it. After reading it again, I understood more and enjoyed the book immensely. Highly recommended for all serious thinkers.

Wonderful!
Beautiful and deeply emotional, this book draws you in and brings into reality the reality we should be living as Followers of Christ: that this life is the dot and we should be living for the eternal line.Even if you don’t call yourself a Christian, it’s a must read!

2nd time reading is just as good as the first
I read this book almost 20 years ago when my sister handed it down to me. I always remembered the story, but forgot the title name and author. I knew it had to do with Eternity and God must of put the book title in my mind again and I found it.It's a beautiful story of what we go through as a Christian and the roads we take that lead us to accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior. Perfect for a non believer to hear his story told in another way to help lead them to his gift of eternal salvation!I won't ever forget the title again and I can see myself reading this yet again a few years down the road because Mr. Alcorn's gift to write captures my attention on every page of his book! Thank you God for the gift of this book from my sister. Definitely telling my Christian and non-Christian friends and family about this book!!!

An Amazing Novel
Edge of Eternity by Randy AlcornEdge of Eternity is an amazing novel written by Randy Alcorn in 1998. The story is about a business man, Nick Seagate, whose life is a wreck. Suddenly he finds himself in another world in which he faces many torments and trials but also meets and makes friends with fellow travelers as they attempt to reach the city of Light. There are many twists and turns to the plot. The writing is full of beautiful and profound words. Early in the book Nick walks with the Woodsman who tells him about a King. He tells Nick: The King is the fountain of life…The King is a rose full of beauty but also thorns…The King is the true vine, the tree of life, the giver of grain…The King is light…The King is a singer and a song and more. Pg 43This is a very special book full of wisdom and word pictures of our journey in life with the God of the universe.

Gripping read
Such an encouraging story, really helpful in understanding the big picture and why we continue to struggle even after accepting Christ.
