I am using these tablets to make sure I can keep a clean mouth. It is frightening how much we leave behind. With disclosing tablets, your mouth shows plaque as purple or pink. You can get rid of those colors and keep a cleaner mouth!

My child is not brushing well enough. First of all she has a small jaw and lots of teeth. Her first tooth did not fall out until she was 7. So we have lots of crowded teeth to clean. We took her to the Dentist and after 6 teeth being removed he told us that she has "plaque-key" teeth (too much plaque still on her teeth). I bought these tablets because I remember when I was a kid and I had to chew them at the dentist to show me where I was not brushing well. It worked well for me when I was a kid because I remember looking at my purple teeth and thinking "yuk". It did motivate me to brush better.What I like best about these little tablets is that I can watch her chewing the tablet and after I get to see all the spots she is not brushing well. I'm a teacher and I know that research show that children think in pictures so I believe this is a brilliant way to show kids about where bacteria and plaques hide. My child had not yet grasped the concept of plaque before we started doing the tablets but now she can "see" the plaque because its purple. These are small purple tablets so once the child chews the tablet (do not swallow), then they rinse their mouth out and the plaque turns purple. Now the good part: they have to go back and brush all the purple stuff off.

Overall, I had a good experience with these tablets. I felt it was a bit pricey, so I started to divide 1 tablet into 2 or 4 small pieces, which was still enough to color and identify the problem. It colors quickly, be careful with white vanity surfaces in the bathroom. Otherwise, you might not be able to clean the stain after.

The product itself is good as it teaches my daughter how to brush well. Sometimes it is difficult to remove and cause to hurt the gum. Biggest suggestion is to use at night! I also clip the tab in half for my 8 yr old...while in the packaging, I snip it in half with a scissor and then put in a weekday pill box for her. Each night, my daughter just open the pill box and use. It's less messier and staining when I do this. The reason why I gave it 3 stars because this is my second time ordering this product and there were NO INSTRUCTIONS. What if this were my first time using and ordering? The tabs came prepacked but were inserted in a clear bag....that's it. Customers should not go out their way to figure how to use.

I got this for my son because he wants to be a little lazy at bricking his teeth....and that’s a big no go in my house! So, I recalled having these as a child after a dentist visit... you don’t see them around as often as we did as kids.The tablets are pretty strong color wise when using..haha! We tried 1 tablet the first time and his mouth looked like Barney the purple dinosaur..haha! So I use a half tablet if I were you, as we have after the first use. These have helped my son greatly at taking the proper time and care at brushing his teeth, because he does not want to brush his teeth 4 times to recommend all the purple dye from mouth and teeth. I will absolutely buy the again if he gets a cavity on his dental check up or if I see that he may be slacking at brushing his teeth.Final Thought:Get if your child does not think brushing proper matters!

It works. But I really didn't like it. I wanted to have the kids try something to show them how well they need to brush. But it's a bit too strong. When I tried it the purple showed up strong on an amalgam filling on one of my front teeth and I was in a panic that it wouldn't come out. It finally did come out. But it took a lot of brushing. If this is what you like, I would recommend not using a whole one at one time. It takes just a small piece to get your teeth purple.

I love the two-tone action. It's so nice to be able to point out -exactly- where the kids need to brush. It's also been really nice for -them- to be able to see I really do know what I mean. I've used these myself to illustrate to them a "problem area," for example. I have a spot on the upper right side that for whatever reason if I don't make absolutely certain I get it really really good, it gets overlooked. I think it's helpful for them to not only be able to see their own problem spots in BRIGHT cannot miss colors, but also to see it's an ongoing issue even for adults. "Everyone needs to brush their teeth/take care of their bodies" is a pretty good message.I know other reviews have complained about the taste. I don't find it the BEST thing in the world, but it's not BAD either. It tastes kinda...kid medicine-like?

I got these for my disabled child. He was having problems understanding on how to brush his teeth. He was always missing areas and didn't want any help in brushing. Once I started using these, his brushing drastically improved. I use one tab. He chews it up, spit, and then rinses his mouth. I gave him his own handheld mirror to assist him. He now make sure that all the color is removed from his teeth. He thinks of it as a game. It DOESN'T stain my sink, his clothes, or toothbrush.They come in a little ziplock type bag. The Tablets are in "sheets". You just tear on the perforated line to get to the tablet. I think these are well worth there money.
