My Swiss Army every day carry knife.
This is my every day carry (EDC) knife. Like many, I like a multipurpose knife. I do not recall how many years ago I started carrying a Swiss Army, but it has been a long while. Somehow, I lost it. So I checked out many different Swiss Army knives at the local knife shop. You know the kind, in the mall with all kinds of exotic knives in the window. I decided on the Huntsman as I wanted scissors, a cork screw and a small blade. The translucent sapphire is a nice color and nice touch. This is a clear blue. You can see through it to the knife base.Price wise, Amazon was a few dollars cheaper than local stores. Add Prime and I had my Huntsman in 2 days. This is a quality knife. The blades are tight but move easily. The knife is made in Switzerland.I used the saw several times already. It is very sharp and cuts on push and pull. The knife is sharp but not razor sharp. Adequate for most jobs but I honed the edge up a notch.Bottle opener is already tested and works well.I do not know what to do with the "hook" tool. The Huntsman is just at the large end of being pocket sized. It is not uncomfortable to carry in one's pocket but is noticeably there. Ergo, I ordered the Victorinox sheaf. This knife fits the large knife case, not the medium one.Overall, this is a high quality knife that I know will serve me well for many years.

Still going strong after 11 years!
This is a sturdy, but compact SAK and has all the features a man needs without much bulk. I thought I lost my old one for good, so I bought this one, which has everything my old one did, plus scissors and the string hook (for carrying items bound with string so it won't dig into your fingers). I was so happy with it, my old one ended up stowed away after I found it again. Hones like a razor and the translucent blue looks smart! I carry this knife all day, every day!It is now 4 years later and I still carry and use this knife every day. Worthy of the Victorinox name! Now it has been 11 years. I've almost lost it half a dozen times, but luckily it always turned up. It has outlasted two belt sheaths, and I still carry it almost every day. The translucent blue is covered in scratches and the metal is a little dinged up. I haven't been cautious with it. I use every tool it has and it still works like a champ, no pun intended. My trusty SAK is one reason I still trust the Victorinox brand!

Great Knife!
This is a great Swiss Army knife. I discovered that mine was missing after a recent trip and I was devastated. I didn’t think I would be able to find another one like it and then I found this one. I love the color because it is a little different than the standard red color. I was a bit surprised at how transparent the blue is, but it’s still very pretty and of course, all of the different gadgets are always handy to have on hand when traveling. Highly recommend!

You won't be disappointed.
This is a great product and I don't say this very often but I think it's worth every penny.

Good product, but side-by-side not as well-made as they used to be
Overall, this is a fine product. It's a Swiss Army Multi-Tool (though everyone I know would just say "Swiss Army Knife", and I'll call it a "knife" just for simplicity), and has all the properties that you would expect from such a knife.I purchased this one to replace a similar model that I've had for many (10+) years. There was nothing unexpectedly wrong with the old one, but the blades got dull and the spring on the scissors snapped. (I think you can get replacements for the spring, but I wanted to start fresh.)I know this may be a difficult criticism for some of you to swallow, because it's somewhat subjective:This newer knife feels flimsier. Not that it feels flimsy. Just flimsier.A bit lighter weight, too, and the action of the blades (and tools) snapping into place just doesn't feel as solid as the older model.Like I said, a bit subjective, but also a bit disappointing. If you're buying this knife for someone that's never owned one before, they'll never know the difference. And maybe this newer iteration will also withstand 10+ years of semi-regular use. But with the lower-quality feel, I'm not confident that it would. So I'd recommend this product insofar as it is what it claims to be, and is pretty decent at that. But if you're judging the quality of this model based upon past experiences with the brand, you may be disappointed.PS - I know that some Amazon sellers sell counterfeit versions of legitimate products, and that can lead to bad reviews. I don't think I got ripped off, because this doesn't feel like a cheap knock off. It's worse than an older model, sure, but it's not bad in of itself. It still has a quality feel, however less so than Swiss Army Knives of years past.

The TSA creates employment in Switzerland...
Had to sacrifice my old Huntsman at a recent TSA check. Ah well. The fact that I immediately bought a new one should be testament to the fact that it is a really good pocket knife (to me).One gets a versatile mix of tools: two knifes, can and bottle opener, corkscrew, screwdriver and woodsaw, amongst others. The large knife doesn't lock and I could do without the small one (and get a file instead?) but I've had my old one for 15+ years and used it all the time. I've never had an issue with the case during that time so I wouldn't worry about it falling off. In fact the only problem I ever had was with the spring mechanism on a pair of scissors (on a Swiss Tool). Victorinx in any case offers a lifetime guarantee so none of this should be an issue. All in all a fantastic tool and when my friends at the TSA fancy this one I'll just get another. Victorinow
