Epiphone PRO-1 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar - Vintage Sunburst

I was looking for a cheapish guitar as I've just started lessons and came across the Epiphone PRO-1.It's advertised as a great starter guitar and I can't disagree.Obviously it's not as good as a much more expensive guitar but for the price I think this does a great job for the novice learner like me.The sound is really rich and the guitar is well constructed from solid materials.The finish is great and looks really good.The strings seem to hold their tuning well and the string height is fine for a novice player like me.

Having played electric for years, I fancied a go at acoustic but without breaking the bank and this looked a good bet. I've been so impressed with the guitar I got for £80 (was on offer at the time). The finish is beautiful (sunburst). The sound is really rich. Epiphone have designed this guitar specifically for beginners and got it right. Its easy to play with its reduced body depth, jumbo frets and shorter neck. If you paid £500, you'd obviously get a better guitar but for £100, this is a great piece of kit I'd recommend to anyone.

I found Epiphone Pro 1 Acoustic guitar good, handy, easy and useful for beginner.Box pack includes humidifier with manual on net, few booklets, one small iron tool, and guitar in black/yellow border color.NO eMedia, NO gigbag provided.This means you need to purchase tuner, picks, strap and gig bag. What you get from order is just a guitar.I had also used snark tuner for tuning this guitar which works really well and guitar remain tuned for long time. Epiphone's strings are really good and produces sharp sound.However, gig bag again not provided when tried Amazon replacement which was even worst... the guitar was having many issues including no gig bag and seller was again Bajaao.Amazon, Bajaao could have done better for this item apart from their good logistic and timed delivery... I feel disappointed.Hopefully when you order take your time to judge and be lucky to get the Epiphone Pro 1 in good condition while making decision.Epiphone Pro 1 is excellent guitar seems you need to be lucky to get the good one... 1 star rating justifies my overall buying experience.

My Epiphone Pro-1 in Vintage Sunburst arrived today and I am very pleased. Packaging was very good. The guitar was well protected in it's own box within a bigger box and bubble wrapped to keep it extra safe AND did not require a massive effort to open and get to the "prize"... My Guitar!! The finish is better than I expected. Very nice! The overall "feel" of the guitar is good and it definitely has the feel of a more expensive unit. I have owned a Yamaha and a pretty nice Alvarez in years past and must say I am not disappointed in the Epiphone Pro-1. I had thought that since my earlier years in dabbling with guitar and spending bigger bucks that I'd be a little let down. That is NOT the case. OK, so the out of box setup... is pretty good. I did have to tune it as I fully expected. Easy to get tuned and then I began to strum the few chords I still know...and the sound is nice, a lot better than I expected, again...after having had bigger $$ guitars previously. The tone is good for low, medium and high notes... And the "playability", the "action"... EASY on the finger tips as promised. I love the taller / roomier fret size... it is just enough to make it easier for getting close in positions on the A chord for example. EASIEST fretboard for that I have ever tried. Now that I have decided to get back to learning guitar I am really happy I found out about the Pro-1, the features it has that should help me...and being able to do it at an extremely reasonable price.Now that I have the right tool... It's up to me to supply the discipline. I am HAPPY with this purchase and look forward to making some music!!

i bought this on a open box for a cheaper price and took it in and had a good setup on it now it sounds as good as my Epiphone Masterbuilt and some of the guitars i have and paid over $500 for. a real good buy for the price

its great!!! Im super clumsy and ive dropped it a bunch of times and its misnt broken or anything. Ive had it for a year now and the strings hadnt needed to be replaced once. its perfect for beginners and experts

I researched this purchase for a solid week before jumping onto this Epiphone, part of the Gibson family of guitars.I got this because a guy I work with offered to teach us all guitar lessons. He plays a $3K+ Martin, but was really excited to see the quality and workmanship on this baby that cost a mere fraction of his.And the sound...oh the sound! In the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, it's just gorgeous!One of the other guys in our learners group brought in an old secondhand guitar from a Pawn Shop. It had really high strings (what is that called? the movement?) and cut his fingers to shreds. By contrast, mine is wonderful and easy to play, and when I handed it to the other guy to try out, he didn't want to give it back.All in all, I think this is a fantastic "entry level" guitar that still brings BIG sound in the hands of someone who knows what to do with it. This should last someone for a good while until they graduate into something more advanced.

Stay away! Bought this as a beginner guitar and the neck has a hairline fracture already! This guitar has been cared for and always in a case, so the damage is not from a drop or force of any kind.

Ours was not packaged well and is incredibly buzzy. Have to wonder if the two things are related.

My first serious guitar, like the sound, stays in tune majority of the time, not sure what happens when one or two strings go out - based on electronic tuner as I wouldn't know otherwise. It's supposed to be great for beginners with smaller spacing for fingers etc - you can read the discription. I practice 10 min a day with a short video instruction and my fingers went dumb the first couple weeks but I keep going cause it does get better and am happy with my choice. I've held friends guitars and they just seemed so large and uncomfortable to hold. This is not too big and a good size for adult.

Bought from Amazon Warehouse as "acceptable." It's well beyond that. Very pleased.
