Updated 2026: BEST hair color brand! (Most effective product on dark blonde hair so far)
I've tried multiple products trying to get my hair to a dusty mauve color without having to bleach my hair to almost white. Although it's not perfect - it's kind of blotchy, so far this is the only product that has left any color in my hair. I plan on trying again with a darker shade since my hair is darker than recommended..My process:I will say do not follow the directions on the bottle.. the bottle says to wash it afterwards but that will wash the color out as well (I tried it on a test piece.) I did some research on this brand before trying it and combined a few technics I thought might work for mine.I started from a dark ash blonde with light ash brown roots (dyed right before applying Adore). I used a mix of 2:1 Adore 192 pink petal: Adore 193 soft lavender applied to towel dried hair using a dye brush applying in small sections for a more even coat. I covered with a plastic cap and left on for 1 hour (outside in the heat). I rinsed with cool water to lock in the color and applied a 2nd application of the same mixture combined with about 3Tbsp of conditioner. Lathered into my hair and covered it with 2 shower caps for extra heating effect. Left for another hour and rinsed again with cool water. I conditioned my hair again as normal and blow dried and straightened.I'm actually really surprised at the results (I half expected it to do nothing). There was still a lot of brassiness left in my hair from the previous products I tried that wouldn't tone out. Those are the main spots that didn't take the color but the darker roots took really well. The purple tones showed up better than the pink tones. I will definitely try again with more purple colors in darker shades. The only other thing I think I would change in my process is apply the first application to dry hair instead of damp hair to make sure it is evenly coated. Also leaving it on longer would probably help as well (the color was definitely more vibrant after the second application.)Update 2026: I just wanted to add since writing this review I've used many of the adore colors and absolutely love them. The darker colors work the best especially the purples. Also it's not nearly as complicated to use them as I did in my original post. After getting used to them I realized all you got to do is put the color directly into your hand (gloved) mix a little bit of conditioner and spread it through your damp hair while in the shower. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.. longer if you want and rinse it out.. do not wash it after. You can wash and condition your hair before but if you wash it after it will remove some of the color. The colors fade after each wash. Your second wash will give you about a pastel color if you started with the deeper colors. Lighter colors will probably wash out within the second wash. By the 3rd and 4th wash most of the colors will be completely gone. The green tones stay longer so if you're having trouble getting those out use a red tone and it will neutralize it. After the red washes out your hair should be back to the original color. I changed my hair color constantly with these. My favorite is doing a rainbowy mermaid look. I absolutely love the teal color but it's one of the ones that leaves the Green in there so I usually go with red or a deep pink for my next color to get the green out. These work best in dark blonde and lighter hair colors. I tried on my kid's hair which is a light brown to medium brown and only the deep pink showed up but it was gone after the first wash. I also love that it doesn't damage your hair so almost every time I wash my hair in the shower I'm putting a different color in. Since I changed it up so much and I only use it on the ends of my hair one bottle of color lasted me half a year to a year.. purple's lasted less because I used those more. But as cheap as they are it's worth it!

Good color
I really liked this color! The pink showed up nicely on my hair and gave it a fun, bright look. It was easy to apply and didn’t leave my wig feeling super dry afterward. Just keep in mind that the color can fade pretty quickly, especially with frequent washing. Overall, I’d buy it again for the price.

Easy peasy with stand out color!
This stuff is great and so easy to use. I lightened my hair before applying, cause this was going to be Halloween hair. I love how it turned out!!! I’ve used it without dying on my dirty blonde hair too and it’s still really pretty, but too dark for my taste. This stuff delivers. I’ve tried many colors and have a whole drawer full of Adore to choose from. And you can’t beat the price. I have very long thick hair and didn’t need the whole bottle. It’s great to mix in a bowl of water to do quick easy hombre ponytail dips too. The best part is that it’s so gentle. Absolutely no hair damage!

Good
My opinion/experience:Simple instructions, accurate color, one bottle was enough (I have a lot of hair, 3a-4a, shoulder-ear length ). So far, adore is the only hair color that does shows on my hair, I tried garnier permanent hair color ( didn't work on virgin hair or processed hair) and dark and lovely before (worked great on virgin hair), but adore has never failed me, don't matter if I have bleached my hair or not, the colors usually show, but it is a little bit hard to wash off your hands and nails or to clean it off the shower

Love it, so easy and quick with amazing results
Giving it 5 stars as of right now. I’ve been coloring my hair for 30+ years and have never had a colorant so easy to apply. Wash hair, towel dry, applied to damp hair then covered in plastic (I didn’t heat set as directions mention) for 15 minutes and shampooed out. Color is VIVID (pink blush) I have short hair and used maybe 1/3 of the bottle. It even colored the gray. Also seen some mention it was runny, not an issue imo. It’s like a gel. With that being said, the dye isn’t playing. I got a couple of smudges on my hand as I was taking off my gloves and no amount of scrubbing has gotten it off so use caution. Now we’ll see how long it lasts. Even if it’s a week or two the price and ease of application are well worth it.

Highly Recommend. Used it for YEARS
I've been using this brand for a long time and I mean years. I like it better than alot of the other competitors still. It stays bright like this for around 2 months and fades to a nice light blue towards 5 months ( if you use color safe shampoos and conditioners and weekly toners and rarely use heat after treatment). Before using the blue dyes, I make sure that my hair is very light and toned to be a platinum blonde to white as possible so your starting with a "clean canvas". I use both purple and blue toners in my bleach (40 dev. along but with a lot of serum, if you forget to add it your hair will be ruined and won't hold color at all.) I only use bleach on my untouched roots and only 4 times a year. If after I bleach it once, and don't feel comfortable with another round or it's light but not the right color, I'll just use a 20 peroxide based toner and more serum to lift more color and color correct. The purple toner kills the orange and the blue kills the super yellow. If you attempt to use this color on un bleached dark hair or incorrectly toned hair it WILL NOT look good. I see people try it because they liked mine and were very disappointed. It comes out poop green alot of the times. I only use shampoo before and skip conditioning and any type of oil because this will cause the dye not to attach leaving spots of undyed hair. I don't dry my hair all the way because i feel like it helps to distribute the color and it blends better if using 2 colors. It's important while dying your hair to be generous, and thorough. I use salon dye brushes and go section by section, then come back with a decent amount to the roots cuz I always miss a spot. I use my fingers and work the bottom color in first when doing 2 colors or else the top color will run to the bottom and your hair likes to take the first color. If you do it that way it also can come out blotchy since the colors weren't blended well. It says to use heat for 15 min. Don't just blowdry your hair. You don't want the liquid to evaporated. Once it's dry it's not soaking in anymore. I use a shower cap or ceram wrap or just a plastic bag tied around my hairline to keep it from drying up while I use the blow dryer. This also helps distribute the heat and hold it in. Just don't melt the plastic. The grocery bags shrink some but not melt. Use your dryer on lower settings or further away if it's too much heat. This dye definitely adds some health back into your hair but not as much as some other brands. After I treat it I rinse my hair in cold water only and use only products for color protection. Be careful some toners will strip colors and stay away from sulfates and alcohols.I like adore for how long it lasts in my hair even compared to the ,"permanent"vibrant color dyes which I feel have very little vibrancy in comparison to semi perms.

REALLY long lasting..
First of all, the color is gorgeous –exactly as pictured.I used this dye on my entire head of bleached hair, and it worked...extremely well! I didn't use a color safe shampoo or anything special to keep the color, so I figured it would fade pretty quickly as most semipermanent dyes do.I was wrong. This dye lasted me weeks with very little fading.I tried removing it with a color remover. That did nothing. I tried bleach, and even that only lightened it around 1-2 levels. So, I was left with a greenish blue stain, unable to be removed...Personally, I like changing my hair color really often, so I didn't care too much for this dye, BUT if you want blue hair for a long time, this might be for you.

Mocha covers pink, but I suggest diluting it/ Paprika is a true auburn shade on brown hair
Review for Mocha (3/5☆)This is a tough product to rate because it has pros and cons. I got the color mocha with the intention of covering my hot pink hair. A lot of reviews say the mocha turned their hair green, which I wanted to neutralize the pink. Pros: smells good, easy to use, easy to clean, not damaging, covered pink very well (to an auburn color). Cons: the only con, but it's a big one, is that it did turn the ends of some of my hair, mostly my face framing pieces a greenish dark brown. I ended up trimming as much of it off as I could, but don't be like me and please do a strand test. For the process, I put it on completely dry hair, shower cap, heated with blow dryer for a minute, left cap on for 30 min, rinsed out. I have above shoulder length hair, natural level 2 roots, ends were lightened to a 7/8. I doused my hair and used about 60% of the bottle.Update: It faded fairly fast after only one shampoo, but I made a color depositing conditioner and left it on dry hair for 40 min. If I had done this to begin with, I might have rated it higher. The pic with straight hair is after the color depositing conditioner.Review for Paprika (5/5☆)I'm unable to make a separate review, so I labeled the paprika pics. After the mocha faded, I permanently dyed my ends ash brown, which made it a murky color! I put paprika on shampooed and fully dry hair (curly shoulder length, natural level 2 roots and dyed level 6/7 ends). I fully saturated my hair from roots to ends (60% of bottle) and covered with plastic wrap for one hour, then rinsed with cold water. It turned out a beautiful true auburn color with a copper shade in the sun. It did not stick to my undyed roots, which I preferred. I will be making a color depositing conditioner with this shade too after shampooing. Paprika does bleed a lot, as most red shades do, so wear gloves. It came off my skin easily, and I bleached my sink, and no color stuck.
