Compact, Reliable, and Perfect for Everyday Carry
I chose the Nitecore EDC23 as my everyday carry flashlight, and I’m really glad I went with it instead of the EDC29. Its compact size makes it much easier to keep in my pocket, which is a major plus for daily use. The battery life has been solid so far. After a couple of weeks, I still haven’t needed to charge it. It’s convenient and reliable. As others have mentioned, the flashlight does stick out of your pocket a bit, which can make reaching for other items a little tricky. However, it’s not a deal-breaker for me. If it becomes a bother, there are aftermarket clips available that allow the flashlight to sit lower in your pocket. I haven’t felt the need to buy one yet. I did read the one-star "burned my pants" review, and honestly, it just made me want the light more, lol! That said, there have been a couple of occasions where I was sure I locked the light, only to find it unlocked later. I’m not entirely sure how it’s happening, but I suspect I might be accidentally unlocking it when I reach into my pocket for other items. I could see how this might become an issue for some users, so it’s worth keeping in mind. Overall, I’m very happy with the Nitecore EDC23! It’s practical, well-designed, and performs beautifully. If something ever happened to this one, I wouldn’t hesitate to get another. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable everyday carry flashlight.

A Game-Changer for Everyday Carry Flashlights!
I recently purchased the Nitecore EDC23 (This is my second flashlight from Nitecore) and I am beyond impressed! This ultra-slim, 2500-lumen powerhouse has completely changed my perception of what an everyday carry flashlight can do. Key Highlights: 1. Blinding Brightness: At 2500 lumens, this flashlight cuts through darkness like a hot knife through butter. Whether you’re exploring the outdoors, walking your dog at night, or dealing with a power outage, this light ensures no corner is left unlit. 2. Ultra-Slim Design: It’s incredibly sleek and compact. It fits comfortably in my pocket without any bulk, making it perfect for everyday carry. 3. USB-C Rechargeable: The convenience of USB-C charging cannot be overstated. No more fumbling with proprietary cables; just plug it into any charger and you’re good to go. The charging speed is fantastic, too! 4. Durability: This flashlight feels rock-solid. It’s made from high-quality materials that give it a rugged, premium feel. I’ve already dropped it a couple of times, and it still works flawlessly. 5. User-Friendly Interface: The intuitive controls make it easy to switch between brightness levels. The settings are versatile, making it suitable for anything from low-light reading to high-power outdoor use. Verdict: The Nitecore EDC23 is worth every penny! It combines incredible brightness, portability, and modern features into one perfect package. Whether you’re a flashlight enthusiast or just need a reliable light source, this one is an absolute must-have.

...and now it has stopped working.
When I first got this light I thought it was the best flashlight ever. The light is bright and offers a good combination of flood and throw. The various light modes work very well for different situations. It was small enough to fit in a pocket along side a pocket knife, a car key fob, AirPod Pros, and sometimes a spare mag for a handgun. After a few months the buttons started having issues, but I could still generally get it to work with a few more clicks than should be necessary. Sometimes it wouldn't come on, sometimes it wouldn't turn off, but it was mostly still functional. Now, a little after a year, the main button to turn on the light and switch modes almost never works. If you keep clicking it, it will sometimes switch modes but the light is still off. Other times nothing at all. If you keep clicking about once every 20-30 times the light might come on. Keep clicking, nope, it won't turn off. Keep clicking oh, it changed modes. Keep clicking...nothing. It's garbage. I contacted their customer service. They want me to send in the light for repair or replacement, but reading through the other reviews, it seems that this is a widespread issue. With people who just got it still reporting button failures. I feel like I'd be paying for shipping only to get another faulty light. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I REALLY CAN'T SAY THAT ENOUGH. I'm trying Olight and Weltool, hopefully I'll have better luck.

Quality EDC made of quality materials at a good price
I have never used any nitecore products until recently since their products started appearing on my feed. I bought this flashlight as my EDC and I was not disappointed in the quality, fit and finish of the flashlight. The build is of excellent quality and it does not feel cheap like others I have used. The flashlight is easy to use. It's bright on the highest setting of 2500 lumens with a good throw and it is also very useful on the lowest setting when brightness isn't required. The buttons on the top of the flashlight function and seem like they will last a long time even if they go through some beating and rough usage. I work as an armed transit driver and this is perfect for me in all aspects. The screen is a nice touch because I am able to see what setting I am in and how much battery I have left. I love that this is a USB C type charging device. I think what really sold me on it was the fact that it has a safety switch. I have used other flashlights that tend to turn on in the pocket and burn my thighs. Since owning this product, I have not had it once turn on accidentally in my pockets. The clip on it doesn't feel cheap either. Overall the flashlight is of good quality and materials, and the functionality make is easy to use even for the novice user diving into the world of EDC flashlights.

Almost Perfect. BUT….
I use this flash light all the time. As the name states it is my EDC and is always in my pocket. About the same size as a standard pocket knife. The adjustability of the intensity level with the two button system is nice. However, the button has started to not respond right. Originally it is a half click to change intensity and a full click to turn on/off. Now when pressing it does not want to change intensity and will do so on a full click therefore not always turning on the light. I would quickly buy again but at the price I can not afford to buy one when the button only last for a couple months of use. I continue to carry every day but find it frustrating to have to press the button sometimes 10X to get the light to turn on while also shuffling thru intensity settings. The turbo mode still works as designed but often is too bright for low light use and is on a timer by default. The full lockout slider works great and is a nice feature to have. If there was no issue with the button this would be 5 stars and 10/10 recommend.

Great EDC
I’ve always hated tail switch flashlights but somehow this one completely changed my mind. It’s a great weight and size for the pocket and is designed perfectly. Built well and battery is also pretty decent just wouldn’t recommend long consistent periods of use on the 200 or 1,100 lumens as it will drain it. It’s my daily carry with the rovyvon aurora A7 as a backup.

I love the quick lock feature
The quick lock switch makes it very easy to unlock and use the flashlight and when finished, to lock it again. I especially like the size of the flashlight AND that it is FLAT. It makes it lie in the pants pocket without bulging. My wife liked how small the flashlight was and so I got one for her for Mother's Day. Mind you, she rolls her eyes on my flashlight fetish, but she's happy with this EDC23 because of its size and ease of use.

Good idea, flawed execution.
TLDR; The semi-lockout mode will not let you activate turbo if you mash the power and mode button at the same time. Not well suited for a tactical role due to this flaw. I have been hoping to find a flat bodied light in this size with a proper tactical UI and decent throw potential, so gave this one a spin. I knew the Nitecore EDC line had some shortcomings but I hoped I could work around them. My first gripe is the terrible pocket clip. For a slim light it rides too high for any kind of discretion. I have seen that Benchmade pattern deep carry clips can work on the exterior with some washers to clear the oddly placed hump on the back of the light. But this adds extra thickness at that spot and creates a strange angle when inserting into the pocket. A modified standard carry emerson/benchmade style can be modified to fit and allow slightly deeper carry as it deletes the lanyard loop of the oe clip, but would be better if they offered that option from the factory. Also I am assuming the hump above the clip serves some purpose associated with the function of the switch, but it would be nice if that area was slimmer as the led display adds additional bulk as it is. My next gripe is the strobe function on full press of the mode switch. I would have much preferred a gas pedal style switch where a half press is medium and full press is high, or at least an option to program the strobe off. Under stress the full press as strobe is just annoying and comes off as a mall ninja function designed by engineers with no grasp of tactical light use. Also while the semi lockout function of the switch is nice to get quick access to turbo/strobe, it is annoying to have to set it by activating turbo/strobe and simultaneously flipping the lock. My main gripe, and what I consider a huge design flaw is, when in semi lockout mode, if you grab the light and accidentally hit the power button at any time before you mash the mode button for turbo/strobe, the light wont turn on at all and the screen just flashes the semi lockout mode screen. This will get you “KiLt iN dA StReEtZ” as you’re probably smashing anything on the back of the light to illuminate a potential threat to PID. So I continue to yearn for a proper light with a similar form factor to the EDC23 but it appears I’ll just have to hope that Surefire comes out with a high candela, mini version of the Stilleto series. Till then I will just keep using my Weltool T1 Pro Tac as my backup/admin light as its still nice and slim but has excellent throw in a good form factor for a round battery light. The Modlite OKW being my main defensive use only light.

The absolute best pocket-sized flashlight I've ever owned for daily carry
Finding an everyday carry flashlight that packs serious tactical power without being incredibly bulky or awkward in a pocket can be a challenge. I picked up this Nitecore EDC23, and it is hands down the best EDC light I've ever owned. The flat shape is a total game-changer—it slides cleanly into a pocket and sits perfectly flat against your leg instead of bulging out like standard round torches. Don't let the slim profile fool you, though; pumping out 2500 lumens gives you an unbelievable, blinding wall of crisp light when you need it. The integrated OLED display is remarkably convenient, letting you see your exact lumen output and remaining battery runtime in real-time so there's never any guessing. Between the solid mechanical lock switch that prevents it from accidentally turning on in your pocket and the rugged, heavy-duty build, Nitecore completely nailed the design on this one.

Little monster
Heats up fast. Though pocket friendly but pocket clip should have been high.

Incredible Light
One of my new favourite flashlights. The physical lock on this is great peace of mind. The output is amazing and the mode selection is easy enough for anyone to get used to. Easy to carry on a belt, pocket, or sling.
