Pleased with the amount of air this puts out.
Compared to the other cheaper fans, I'm happy with the amount of air this fan moves. My only concern is that I purchased this fan to replace an identical Flex-A-Lite that appeared to have failed. I tested that fan with direct connection to the battery and it would no longer start up. However, that fan for whatever reason started working again. It couldn't be the thermostat switch or relay because I did connect directly to the batter with no luck. I'm not sure why it stopped in the first place (the second identical fan I have is working fine), but I'm going to keep this fan in case it quits again. These are not inexpensive fans but the amount of air they move compared to cheaper fans is worth the money. Now if the original fan continues to work then I'll feel better about the price and as mentioned, keep this one as a backup.

Excellent Product
I bought this for my 1996 Nissan Pickup after finding out the price of the replacement stock fan was going to be beyond what I had at the time and also wanted more engine power. This fan is more than enough and frees up the engine and you do gain power and fuel mileage and have been running it for a good while now and it has not failed me yet even in the rain and cold. Do get the thermostatic switch for it and the instructions are easy for anyone to do it in a weekends time. Overall this is worth the money and also if you need a helper fan this works great and sucks or pulls PLENTY OF AIR and will even cool after the engine is off and draws very little power even in heavy traffic.

Great, quiet fan for any custom needs.
Installed this in my '54 Ford when I was doing my engine swap... I'm using a '69 Mustang aluminum radiator and the fit is perfect. Easy installation, and I was surprised at how quiet it is... my engine is somewhat loud, but I don't have much interior insulation and I can't even hear the fan from inside the car. Works very well, I would definitely recommend this fan to anyone. I paired it with a Derale 16738 fan switch, and it works great with that.

Electric fan vs clutch fan
If you have a clutch fan I highly recommend that you switch to an electric fan. These are the pros and cons that I experienced by making the switch. PROS/ no more loud "roaring" sound when accelerating, throttle/ acceleration is much more responsive when pressing on gas pedal, A/C temperature remains cold during stop-and-go traffic and when parked, I haven't checked gas mileage but there has to be an improvement just based on the fact that there is less drag on the engine, engine also runs much cooler which is an accomplishment because I live in Phoenix Arizona. CONS/ this is not a project for an inexperienced mechanic. Do not Mount the electric fan directly to the radiator with the straps that they provide. It is too close and does not utilize the entire cooling capacity of the radiator by having it so close. You may be able to get away with it and cooler climates but I will suspect during hotter times of the year it will be a problem. The fan needs to be mounted approximately 4 inch away from the radiator with a radiator fan shroud. I was able 2 design and fabricate a fan mount to my existing fan shroud however this again is not for the novice mechanic. The positioning of the fan in the existing fan shroud is critical to getting the maximum cooling capacity of the electric fan. The fan shroud must have a good seal around the radiator, and the fan must be positioned in the existing fan shroud approximately in the same position as the old clutch fan. Enclosing my recommendation is if you are going to switch 2 in electric fan do not look for the cheapest way to do it. I would recommend buying a name brand such as Flex light with a shroud that fits your particular vehicle along with the thermostat kit. Also the S blade style fans are much quieter than the straight blade Style.

Great Customer Support
I used this item to build a custom "cooling fan" for my new John Deere Z920R lawn mower ... built a steel cage to house the fan ... wired it & mounted it on the RollOver Bar. Ran fine for about a month ... then, for no known reason, the blade shed 4 of it fans ans it became unusable. Called the factory ... told them what I had used their item for ... mentioned that a warranty consideration would be great ... but, either way, I needed to order a replacement part ... he made the decision on the spot to warranty it ... had the part on my front porch in about 3 days ... 15 minutes later, everything was "cool" once again.

Great fan
This works great on a big block chevy. Plenty of airflow, easy to install. Make sure you use a relay.

Good function, but failed in 2 weeks
Great functioning fan however, the snap ring holding the fan on disappeared within 2 weeks of use. Managed to catch it before it did too much damage to the radiator.

Failed in 1500 km with intermittent use. Snap ring went missing and wrecked the bore of fan. Assembled in USA. FLEXALITE used to make good products.
