We have a 10-year-old that is so obsessed with dunking that he has destroyed every other basketball goal we've had that he could find a way to dunk on. A flimsy hang over your door Christmas gift that lasted about a month. Then there was the trampoline basketball goal with the foam breakaway rim. Found a way to break it too. Eventually broke the adjustable full-size basketball goal we have in the driveway, dunking on it with a small exercise trampoline on it's lowest height. This kid literally sits around watching old slam dunk contests on YouTube on a regular basis. So searching for the Christmas present that would give him hours of dunking fun but also hold up, was a really long and in-depth process.When I found this goal, I originally balked at the price. I'm like, really? Can I spend that much for a little mini hoop just for dunking on? That's more than a cheap full-size adjustable goal. But, if it really holds up as advertised, and he can dunk on it without breaking it, then it would be worth it. So we order it. Hoping it's going to fix our kid-with-a-need-to-dunk issue.And let me tell you, this thing was and has been the absolute hit of Christmas with both of my boys. We have a 9-year-old too and they battle it out in every sport but basketball is their favorite. They have spent countless hours in our garage dunking on this goal and it has held up like a champ. Every single bit of the frame of the goal has been amazingly sturdy. The rim is a real deal breakaway rim like you'd expect on an expensive, full-size goal. My wife and I stood there watching them several times when I first put it up, judging for ourselves just how hard they could dunk on this thing without breaking it or tearing our wall apart. And it seems to just take it without any sign of "too much". There isn't a too much. We have watched them throw alley-oops to each other that look like NBA highlights and this thing just takes it all.Until 2 weeks ago. Finally, the backboard broke. The boys were scared to tell us for the first week. They thought they'd be in trouble. I know this may sound crazy to anyone reading this but I can honestly say that even though this thing ended up breaking in 4 months' time, it was still worth every penny. That's how much fun they've had on it. They've continued to play on it even with the broken backboard. It looks like the break is going to end up making the entire middle of the board come off soon though.I'm not sure if it has a manufacturer warranty or not that would cover this (the Amazon return window has passed) but if not I would be more than willing to buy a new backboard if you sell individual replacement parts. If you can help get me up and going again and my boys enjoying this goal again, especially now that they are here all day long every day with the Covid-19 quarantine, I would LOVE to come back and upgrade my review to 5 Stars! In no way am I trying to hold that 5th star hostage to make you give me something for free. As great a product as this goal is, if it truly only lasted 4 months and cost us $160, it's worthy of 4 stars due to the backboard's lack of durability. However, if it is covered under a warranty or I can replace it for a decent price and they can continue having the kind of fun they've been having on it, then it's worthy of 5 stars for sure.PS I would post a picture of the broken backboard if it allowed it but not seeing a way to do that.UPDATE: The manufacturer contacted me immediately and handled the issue flawlessly. The RamGoal has a lifetime warranty with a few exceptions. Also, found out that since we purchased the RamGoal, they have upgraded the backboard to make it even more sturdy. They took care of the issue by sending us a replacement with the sturdier, upgraded backboard and I went ahead and bought the new 10" rim that they offer as well. It's rare to find great American made companies that make a quality product with a warranty they stand behind. This is definitely one of them! I would recommend this goal and this company to anyone that would listen! Thank you!

Great product and customer service. Our product came with a manufacturing defect. Instead of immediately bashing the company, I gave them a call. I emailed the company with pictures and proof of purchase. I had a response back pretty quick and a new part on order free of charge. While the inconvenience of having a defect might sit on some people as a bad vibe, the customer service I received means more to me than a human error. Could not be happier with what I have received and my kids love the product.

Don’t hesitate on this one: this hoop is awesome and a huge upgrade from any “over the door” indoor hoop, which is what we were replacing. It’s perfect -- very high quality, looks great, and it’s extremely easy to install.We had one very minor issue to which I texted the owner, on a Sunday (!), and not only received a very prompt reply back but was provided a simple solution and had the issue resolved within 10 minutes. We have been hooping on this hoop for four plus years. When mounted securely to the wall it really stands up to the task well. The adjustable support arms are clanky noisy but it doesn’t phase the toughness.The backboard adhesive tape had been loose for quite awhile and finally decided to take it apart and install new double sided tape. Upon inspection, the backboard bracing had tearing at two spots. Reading the warranty small print, there is a comment about not warranting brace tears due to hanging on the rim. So it appears the design has a known weakness based on their disclaimer. Note that no hanging was performed, just lots of dunking by 6-12 year olds.Upon reading this, I reached out to RamGoal asking if there was a new design to help prevent this tearing before I buy a replacement. Within a day I received a text message from Matt asking what style board I have. Sure enough, I had the original style that has been updated years ago. So I must have gotten the last of the old style. Matt described the new style being even more robust to withstand the game.I read numerous reviews sharing how Matt reached out personally to answer questions from owners. This is another proof of evidence that the company is attentive and has a great product. All this and we ordered a second basket to keep the space jam team hooping. Thank you RamGoal.

Hoop was way to install besides the screws that is comes with! Cheap screws broke twice while trying ti go into stud. Luckily I had better quality wood screws on hand that made the hoop way sturdier. Spend the extra money on better screws if you get this set. Otherwise perfect and my 12 yr old loves it.

The media could not be loaded. Sturdy, well built, great customer service. They stand behind their product. My son has had so much fun on this hoop-especially through the winter months.
