Very firm compression
When I found I had to wear thigh high compression stockings instead of knee highs and also go to a firmer stocking, 30-40mm instead of 20-30mm I was rather apprehensive, but stockings are not as bad as I feared. Not to say that wearing these monsters is fun but they certainly do the job they are designed for. You need to remember they are very high compression but I didn’t find them much more difficult than the knee highs I had been wearing. You do need to take your time and not rush things and 10 minutes per leg is probably a good estimate of how long it takes me to get them on. Once on they certainly do their job and my legs feel so much better. The are very very tight, but the compression feels good throughout the day. I had thought I would need to wear a garter belt to hold them up, but it turns out the silicone dots at the top do a good job and keep them in place. They are made of quite a stiff fabric but they look reasonable and have plenty of room for my toes. All in all I would highly recommend these stocking if you need the very firm compression and will buy them again

Perfect
These compression thigh high socks do what they're suppose to do. Be tight, compressive and stay up. Are they hard to get on? Yes! But they're suppose to be. I have lymphedema and my doctor always told me to put my compression garments on first thing in the morning when you're retaining the least amount of water. Well I didn't do that today. I put them on after breakfast so I was a little swollen HOWEVER I have the garment gloves that help you grip the compression garments to help get them up. Once on they did not move. I worked out in them and wore them all day. They work great

Trade-offs are worth it
In name-brand hosiery for lymphedema, the top band was too tight and digging into the swollen lymph tissue and creating a lot of pain. This brand has a more nuanced compression at the top to fit my thighs while maintaining a great compression for the calves. My measurements are distorted because I compressed the calves for 20 years without realizing the thighs were getting worse.Drawback: These are unusually short so petite people are going to love them! As a taller woman, I had to purchase neoprene thigh sleeves from the athletic department to make up for the difference. I rotate those with compression pants and am finally making progress on the lymphedema in the thighs. These hosiery are much tougher and more resistant to snagging than my previous name brand. They aren't as pretty but I cover all of the time so nobody sees them. If I had to dress up, I would switch to a different brand. Definitely a great price for the wear and frequent replacement for lymphedema wear.

Great compression
I put my stocking on early in the morning and they stay up all day and actually feel like the 30-40 compression. Love theses, going to order more soon.

Weak Fabric, Bad Stitching, Grip Sleeve Rolls
After my initial order I swore I would never purchase another pair of these. I should have written the review then so I would have had something to remind me why.1. 1st pair: After pulling the stocking over my heel I pull the bunched sock up my ankle to my calf with both hands when my right hand tears through the fabric destroying the stocking.2. Pair no. 2 failed at the grip sleeve stitching.3. Pair no. 3 ripped at the thigh as I was attempting to pull the stocking up from where it had slipped and pinching behind my knee. But I did not learn my lesson. There is another brand I had ordered at the same time that has been a champ. The first casualty was 3 months in, and a year later 3 of the 4 pair I ordered are still in circulation. When I placed an order late last year to restock, I thought I was ordering those. I realized my error immediately. And sure enough, the same story: I ordered 4 pair. 3 months in and I have 3 intact stockings. Not 'pairs' mind you, 3 complete 'stockings'.I am not prone to giving harsh reviews. And I did not contact this merchant for a refund. I do not require a refund. I figure the merchant knows full well the quality of the material and merchandise it brings to market. My refund will be in saving you money and in lessening the odds of similar merchandise appearing. I hope this helps someone.

Unable to get on!!!
These seem like really great quality and tight compression socks. But unfortunately I can't even get them on, they don't fit me at all. I'm not obese or anything, but I do work out my calves. I am 5'8" and 200lbs (athletic build) for reference.

Better than many other brands
So I again bought another pair of these medical grade stockings that are affordable!!! and have a good firm pressure applied all over. I have worn many different brands over the years and struggled with those other brands their tightness being too weak, and they often fall down. These ones stay up better (but all brands seem to fall down during the day anyway). So As a male I found a trick is to shave your upper thigh where the rubberband dots grip the skin on the leg, also rub a damp cloth on those rubber dots as that damp helps them grip better and stay up longer. Also twist parts of the stocking to the left and right as you work them up the leg. This zigzagging helps create a sideways pull instead of just a downward pull. But the best method yet is getting a pair on long tight compression under pants (the ones that go a little down the thigh). as when they cover the top of the compression stockings they stop them from rolling down while walking. I found the also on Amazon by typing men’s compression pants (maybe add the word ‘thighs’ inthat Search)Finally buy a pair of kitchen rubber gloves. As a good pair will grip the stockings without your fingernails putting a hole in them as so often happens.Good luck and enjoy this product. Service was super fast too! Thank youGood quality, that’s why I bought more!!

Terrible Description--Great Product!
Thanks to pain in my varicose veins, I had EVLT (Endovenous Laser Treatment or Therapy, depending on which clinic you consult) and was prescribed thigh-high compression stockings of 30-40 mmHg by the vascular surgeon. Originally, I bought 3 pairs of expensive German compression stockings. They are $187 per pair!On a whim, I decided to look on Amazon, after 1 of the pairs developed a run. (Note to 1 reviewer: even the "good-quality" compression socks develop runs after a while!) Bought 2 different pairs of Truform & wondered what the difference(s) were, when they are the same size and colour. This pair, here, have a "stay-up top" that has little silicone "beads" (rounded 2-dimensional disks) that are sewn into the band. They look very much like the beige pair of (expensive!) German stockings I already own. Except these Truform stay up! [The other pair I bought are also Truform, yet they don't have a silicone top & must be worn with Truform's garter belt, which Amazon also sells. These are much better, in my opinion: for $2 more, you don't have to buy an extra accessory just to have stockings that function!]*BUT* the description for this pair is terrible! It doesn't indicate the level of compression (30-40) nor anything about the "beaded stay-up top" that's actually shown on the front of the box. I wear a size Medium, and even though that's what I ordered, the description changed on my order invoice to say it was a size Small! Was worried I'd get the wrong size also. Love these so much I'm ordering another 2 pairs and crossing my fingers I receive 2 Medium pairs as ordered! The description should also give the model number: Model 8848BG, followed by the size's 1st letter: i.e. "S" for small, etc. If you're on the fence regarding the quality for such a low price, don't hesitate: these are really great quality compression stockings/socks!
