This is an exceptional knife sheath combo FOR THE PRICE.
First off, I've had this knife for 8+ months, I carry it daily along with my endura 4 and para 3 Spyderco knives. For the price I love this thing, the quick deploy is delightful, still works. knife edge retention is about what you can expect from a knife that's 20$, it would be short sided and idiotic for me to complain that it doesn't hold up as well as my endura (vg10 steel)...If you don't know how to sharpen or pull it across a "V" sharpener then probably not the knife for you...but that says more about you than it says about the knife. I recommend the smiths pocket diamond sharpener, 2 passes on the conical honing end and it's back to a razor. The guy that posted not 1 but 2 videos of the knife failing to fold...should stay away from sharp objects, for one the way he attempts to fold the blade back in is a great way to cut yourself....were it possible to just press the blade into a table to close it, which it isn't(that would be a terrible design). The knife has a liner locker....so trying to "close" it with blunt force is an excercise in futility along with being equal parts laughable and depressing. I hope someday he figures it out, and changes his review, operator error is a poor reason to leave a 1 star review....you got outsmarted by a 20$ knife, I'm sorry you didn't watch the handful of other videos showing the action for both deploying and folding/sheathing the knife. For the people saying the blade became so loose it wouldn't be safe to continue using because the liner locker wasn't catching....buy a screwdriver set for electronics, 120 pieces with all the torq/Philip/Allen tips you will ever need to tighten your knife...or just throw the knife away because basic knife maintenance is beneath you and you would rather write a scathing 1 star review than turn a screwdriver a half rotation. Might I recommend a fixed blade, mayhaps one made of rubber, wouldn't want you to hurt yourself. And last, the people that said the belt clip was garbage....I'm sorry but do you not have a screw driver either? Once you understand the basics of the buffer rings and one screw threading into the "bigger" hollow center "screw", this sheath has a plethera of different builds for any kind of deployment, direction, or hand dominance preference....and for the likely same handful of folks that couldn't keep it clipped on their belt or couldn't open it to clip to their belt....it has a locking mechanism, slide it over and push the release, if it doesn't depress you slid the lock the wrong way, then once you have it clipped, I recommend clipping the sheath on a belt that isn't already securely fastened around your waisted, unfasten your belt, leave it in the loops but get some slack wherever you intend to attach, press until it clicks, if it won't click....you guessed it, it's locked and you just have to slide it 1/4" to the other side, *click*....oh whats this here? You can lock it once it's attached to keep it from bumping and some how miracling it's way off your belt? Astounding! Also in case this wasn't obvious, okay, you're right, clearly it wasn't...there are little black bars of plastic that come with the clip....you may be wondering why? the clip can fit on a belt around 1.5" wide, if yours doesn't, it's because you have those little black retention bars already installed on the clip simply pull em out, you can also use them to hike the sheath up on a narrower belt or allow it to sit lower on your waist...play around with it see what works best. Pro tip: if you can't get the retention bar out by pulling on it, don't bend it back and forth simply turn the clip so the back of the retention baris facing you, using a small straight blade press out the center fastener of the retention bar...viola. It's a great knife with a unique deployment action that I haven't found on any other knife from any other knife maker, I would love to know if someone is doing it better, I'm aware of the Emerson wave on Fox karambits, but this is a different action for folks who like the kydex sheath and the ability to adjust directional deployment.

Great Karambit Knife - Cleaver Holster
I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this knife. All I know is.....auto deployment holster? Cool. And that's really the only point to buying this thing. For the cool factor. Really, what is the real benefit to having a Karambit style knife to the average non-ninja type person? It's not practical in everyday use like a pocket knife. And, really, unless you are trained to use this thing in combat, it's useless in a self defense situation. Plus, I am not sure i'd want this thing up on the evidence bench in a courtroom in a trial investigating a self defense situation. Anything scary looking, will definitely NOT be in your favor in those situations. With all that being said, let me say that it's a cool looking knife. And pulling it out of the holster is really cool too. Provided you pull it swiftly enough, it does snap out and lock. And if you handle it right, it should snap out into your hand perfectly (make sure you put your index finger through the loop and keep your hand open when you remove it from the holster). The black blade is nice looking. It's fairly sharp. But if you are going to do practical things with it, get it sharpened professionally first. But like I mentioned earlier, it is highly impractical to use this thing in every day applications. It's just awkward to try and cut with at best. So, if you are a knife collector, this is definitely worth the coin to add to your collection as being a cool toy. Also, one more thing to mention. There are absolutely NO instructions on how to assemble the holster belt attachment. It's not incredibly hard to figure out, but just a forewarning. You WILL spend a few minutes trying to figure out how it goes together. And it's also worth mentioning, you will need a torx bit set to put on the belt clip it also comes with. Well, that's it! Review done! Now stop reading and buy this thing. It's neat. =)

This is a sheath-assisted opening knife -- not spring assisted. That said, it's a really nice design and well made.
So, like others, I was expecting a spring assisted karambit with a nice holster system... I was initially very disappointed that the knife has no spring assist. However, once I configured the very nice holster, I am very pleased with the action of the knife. On a one-handled pull from the left side of my belt, the knife opens automatically about 90% of the way on a standard pull (not quite far enough to lock, but close). Pull it out fast and it will lock open (but be careful). This is made possible by the very nice design of the plastic sheath (holster) that grabs the thumb stud and forces the knife open as it's pulled out. If you added a spring assist to the design, it would snap open all the way and lock on sheath exit, which would be amazing. -I recommend reversing the side of the knife the clip is on -- takes a very small torx bit, this way the clip does not interfere with the holster. -I also recommend removing the spacers between the sheath and the clip and putting the spacers on the outside face of the holster so the knife is closer to your body. You can only do this after you have reversed the clip. Back to the knife. The design is very nice and very lethal. The angle of the blade relative to the handle is more functional (for doing damage) than a lot of the other decent folding karambits available right now (which are more obtuse). The quality of the handle is very nice. Fit and finish are very good. The knife is almost razor sharp from the factory. A mild polishing and it would shave hair. Nothing to complain about besides the lack of an axis spring assist. It is an overall very good value at the price paid (May 23rd, 2017). I have no affiliation with any knife company. Just a user / collector.

Outstanding S-TEC Karambit and Sheath
Hey There, This a quick overall review. Please watch video for more detail. Very nice knife for the money. Comes with the belt clip and kydex quick release sheath that you can set up to your liking. 2.5โ blade. Solid action and instant open within inches from the sheath keeping the knife very close to your body. Itโs got a smooth hex ring thatโs comfortable when using with index finger. Ring size diameter is perfect for your index finger with just a bit of movement. Not spring assisted, but the sheath is amazing. You can still attach the clip and use the sheath, but I chose not to. Hugs to your waist for a low pro bro. Ok, for the sheath install. Donโt worry if the holes donโt line up perfectly, just fit them in and tighten down. Use all three rubber spacers for each hole. On the inside of the belt clip are two removable spacers that you can pull out to adjust the width of your belt for a nice secure fit. You donโt want a wobbly system. Thatโs it. Work the blade in and practice. You will be a pro in no time. Itโs an excellent knife for everyday type use. Be safe and responsible. You have an obligation to all of us that EDC. If as a weapon, only to be used in absolute life or death situation and in most situations, just run away. You can train all you want but when someone is coming at you pumping and stabbing, you have less than seconds to react.

S-TEC Does It Again!
I have purchased S-TEC knives before; great knife for the money, and built like a tank! This Karambit is no exception! The knife comes with sheath and attachment; pocket clip, and is well packaged. Several carry options are available to the operator. The knife is sturdy; blade is thick, and sharp right out of the box! Scales are nicely patterned to fit in the hand; non-slip texture, and the deployment of the blade is swift and locks tight! Well worth the money spent; with an auto-draw sheath, and various carry options... quality materials and wormanship... makes this budget EDC stand out!

Great knife
Great knife and really sharp. Love how it deploys when you pull it out the sheath.

Pros and Cons: a 5 Star Karambit in a 1 Star Sheath
Overall, this is a rather nice karambit style knife, but it has pros and cons. Pro: it's a great design all told. The blade is sharp out of the box and locks open firmly on my copy at least. It has an intimidating hawkbill curve, good for slicing and with a nice piercing point. I drove it right into the shipping box without an effort. The finger loop is heavy enough to work as a brass knuckle if you want to just hold the closed knife in your fist and punch with index finger forward. So overall design; 5 stars. the blade is single edged, though, so you won't be able to employ many of the martial arts moves that the karambit is specifically intended for. Subtract 2 stars. The sheath opens the knife reliably every time as long as your draw motion is rapid enough. Back up to 5 stars. Add a bonus star because I've never seen anything like this for a folding knife of any kind. But the sheath itself is rather chunky. The only possible way to conceal it is beneath a very loose shirt or a bulky sweater. The design is such that the belt spacers prevent the sheath from latching shut if they're used. It's really a poor design, a simple belt loop would have been much better and more concealable. And it makes a loud "snap" noise when pulling the knife from the kydex holster. Minus two stars. This wouldn't matter if you have a threat standing right in front of you, but there are bound to be times you want to get a knife out without telling the world that "something" just happened. Of course, you can draw the knife by rotating it forward and then lifting it out, but this doesn't deploy the blade. There's no way to pull out and open the knife without the snap. Reholstering is also less than instinctive... at least it has been for the first couple of days. So we're standing at 4 stars right now. I don't know if I will carry this knife every day. It's a good concept that could have been executed in a more user-friendly way. There isn't even a diagram for assembling the sheath, I had to look on the internet. I would definitely carry it in front of a handgun carried OWB (outside waistband), because I've already got a considerable bulk showing under my shirt or coat in that case. Otherwise, I feel like this knife takes up more space than it's worth. It stands about 1 & 1/2" away from my waist including the sheath; that's thicker than any of my handguns including their holsters. It's hard for me to imagine where I'm going to carry this that a spring-assist pocket karambit is not a better choice... although I could just carry this one in a pocket, the thumb studs are fine for opening it with. I would carry this knife in its sheath hiking or anywhere concealment was not an issue. Otherwise, it's going in a pocket, or I'm using another knife entirely. If the sheath were a better design, I would want to carry it all the time. As it is, I need to subtract 1 more star due to lack of overall carrying utility in my opinion. Sad to say, my review ends up at 3 stars. This is a 5 star karambit knife with a 1 star sheath. The concept behind the sheath is 5 stars... it's just crippled by poor execution. Maybe some day I'll learn to mold kydex enough to make a belt clip and replace the clunky one supplied. Until then...

Amazing knife for the price!
I will start by saying I have never in my life owned a karambit before, but after reading up on it i realized it would be a good EDC knife, since this knife has some amazing possibilities. I did not get this for a self defense weapon, although it can be used as such, it was bought for its original uses, which was as a farming instrument (my uses: cutting black berry bush limbs, opening boxes, etc.). I settled for this knife and one other, and this one arrived first. I read the reviews, and i decided to take a chance anyway. I'm glad i did, this knife is amazing! As other have said, this is a knife that does require some effort to get ready for use. You need to put the belt clip together as well as the sheath for usage, but it's not hard. Took me a while to get it set up how i wanted it, but when you do, the sheath makes this knife amazing. I'm not entirely sure why others say you need to use force to get the sheath to work properly (deploy the blade), because for me the blade comes out with little effort. It's a lot of fun too, but be careful! This blade came razor sharp, and passed the paper test with ease. Be warned! As for the knife itself, it feels comfortable and comes sharp. The karambit will take some practice before it can be used properly, but at the very least it will be amazing for most mundane tasks (opening boxes or packages). I am, as of now, completely satisfied with this knife, and i encourage anyone on the fence to get it. If it's like mine, you won't regret it one bit. As a final note, here are a couple suggestions. You're going to want to angle the sheath belt clip, because of the curvature of the blade itself. Wear a belt that is slightly too big to keep the belt clip secure, since it has a tendency to move around. Having it lose makes deployment of the blade difficult, and avoid wearing loose clothing. The blade will get caught in a shirt, so wear it tucked in, or else it will tear up your clothes, or injure you.
