Addicting
My 9 year old could not put this book down. She really loved it but parts of it made her really sad and even a few weeks later she is worried about slipping into a coma as apparently one of the characters does. I feel like that's a sign of a good book in that it has stuck with her like that. So, great book but beware of the medical drama. This was her first experience with a book with a darker side to it.

5 Stars!
Liz Kessler does it again, this time weaving a wonderful tale of time travel. I read this with my daughter, we stayed up late reading and couldn't wait to see how things turned out.

Interesting plot and details, worth readingโฆ
โฆbut I prefer "North of Nowhere" by the same author, written about a year later, it's a more pleasant story to read. Interesting concept, sort of like an old "Twilight Zone" TV episode but this one is slower going and has more unpleasant detail than "Nowhere". It might be written for a 12 year old but many adults will like it.

Liz Kessler the Author of the Fairy Godsister and Emily Windsnap series has topped herself once again. Jenni Green is best friend with Autumn. So close their practically sisters. While Autumn's family is at their vacation place this year and as Jenni to go horseback riding with her she doesn't show up. When she goes to her apartment she travels a year into the future instead. Autumn's younger brother is in a coma in the hospital do to a horse riding mishap on the day she left to meet with Autumn. Only everyone but her seem to have memories of her being around for the past year. Autumn is living in a different smaller apartment and Jenni is sure he time travel has something to do with the old lady in Autumn's old apartment. To learn more about what happened she travels even further into the future. Each year into the future life gets even worst including her own parents divorce and her dad seeing another woman. Events all connected with Autumn's brother's coma and later death. The one thing Jenni knows is she must find away back to the beginning and stop the horse accident from happening no matter what.

A year without autumn is one of those books that you can't put down. It's an amazing read and truly inspiring. This story represents an inseparable friendship. I really really enjoyed this book and I have to say, it's going onto my favourites list. In this book, jenni, the main character learns that her best friend is more important than anything else in the world to her. She will do anything for autumn, so she decides to save her and her family's life from going into a trauma. Because she knows the future.

I really liked this book as it pulled me in at the first chapter! I normally choose more cheesy lovey dovey Judy Bloom books, but this made a really lovely change. It is a mix of frierndship , sci-fi and fantasy. Great!! ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐

I loved this book so so much. There was nothing to not like about it. It's so interesting and as soon as I started reading I literally could NOT put it down. The start of the book is great which is a quality that not many books have. The middle was my favourite, with loads of twists and mysteries. The ending was great but predictable just like any old fairy tale that you might have read when you were younger...

Liz Kessler's books are my 11 year old daughter's favourite books by far. She is a prolific reader of everything and anything but she talks about these books endlessly and she has read them all over and over during the last two years. I have not read them myself but she has read me many highly descriptive passages that particularly fascinate her and she is very animated when she talks about the characters and plot in detail. I truly believe these books have also helped her own creative writing as the descriptive style is very similar to what is encouraged by teaching in KS2 and KS3. A teachers dream series of books I would expect.
