Overlord, Vol. 9 (light novel): The Caster of Destruction (Overlord, 9) Hardcover – Illustrated, January 22, 2019

This book has everything is good in Overlord, I've read it like 3 times and still enjoy it. One of the best volumes in the series (still volumes 5 and 6 are the best in my opinion)

The book is ok though, the author is growing with every book, and the story is developing a lot, but i think the writing helps very little the imagination, it lacks of detailed descriptions, sometimes i need to figure with very little description how a character feels.This book should've feel emotionally dense, but it didn't.Still, good read, immensely better than the anime.

hahahah Too much blood all over the place to say that this is a book debating Good and evil, it is not. it all about perspective, saying that, gotta say that everyone here is deluded to believe themselves "Good", mild spoiler here, none are.

Great read

Spoiler Alert!!!!That battle, if you can even call something so one-sided a battle, was epic. Oh and Gazef, NO! But I like that the author is actually okay with letting characters die, rather than surviving by some miracle. He proved it early on by killing the group Mom on first traveled with, and again now. And he also touched on how Ainz recognizes that he is Lexington with "being human". He barely feels anything for humans anymore.With Ainz we have a character that is pretty true to what he is; he's not trying to be a hero at all. His goals are selfish and driven by loneliness and the desire to protect Nazarick. And he's not afraid to get his hands dirty to do it. The story just gets better and better and I can't wait for more.

This series never ceases to amaze me! It's pretty much the only light novel that catches my eye and it still doesn't disappoint. The story, the action and the details, puts me in awe everytime I read a new novel. Please give this a chance!

An enjoyable short read. I am a huge fan of the Anime which is why I picked up the book. Becoming tired of waiting for more episodes to air I thought this might be my only salvation. I was not disappointed. Only now I worry the anime will be soured for me. Ah what a catch 22.At times the writing style, or maybe the way it was translated, makes it slightly difficult to follow which characters are doing what in the scenes. This is my only gripe. Otherwise it was excellent.

I mainly wrote this review to explain that there is NO PAPERBACK version of this novel at the moment. Amazon lists it as a paperback when in reality it's a hard cover. I was worried before I placed my order that all of the hardcover copies were sold but I took the chance.Anyway the book itself is great. As with the previous entries in the series the translations can be wonky at times but all in all it doesn't ruin the experience.
