Great head-mounted camera!
This is a really good helmet/head cam, and in my opinion much better than the normal GoPro form factor. The controls are simple to use without having to see them, and the ability to easily rotate and adjust the lenses makes aiming your video nearly effortless.

Please Read Before Buying!
This review is coming from a video maker and an airsoft player. I am very familiar with video quality, what is acceptable, and what I am looking for with a camera. I purchased this camera knowing the downsides (which I will below), but my main reason for purchasing it was to run it as a backup camera for when my GoPro inevitably overheats. With that being said - I will review this item on its own two feet and unrelated to the actual reason of why I bought it. Is the video quality good? Realistically, no. If I was buying this as a standalone camera to make airsoft videos, this will not get me far. While its better than most cheap options, I have high standards for what good quality 4K video looks like - and this is not it. However, it is very acceptable as a backup camera, so in that aspect I am satisfied. There is no image stabilization. If you want smooth running footage, this is not it. With this camera you feel every step and every bump. However, there is a charm to that and I personally don't think it's a big deal, especially if you are using it as a secondary camera. Is the audio quality good? Definitely not. It peaks a lot, especially when there are some loud callouts going on. Is the app control good? Mid at best. I was not able to get this camera to connect to the new app, however it does work with the RunCam Legacy app. You WANT TO DO THIS, because by default, this camera is not set to record at its highest bitrate, which you want. Is it east to install? Yes. Very easy to mount on the helmet. No complaints. Is the battery life good? Yes, I have never run out of battery while playing, even for a full day. Do you need a memory card? Yes, you will need to have a microSD card to put into the camera. Is it lightweight? Yes, it barley adds any weight to the helmet. Is it simple to use? Yes you turn it on and it starts recording right away, you turn it off and it stops recording. The on/off switch is durable and will not slide one way or another. Is it easy to tell when the camera is recording? Yes - it has a red light on it, which wont give away your position, but will be easy to tell for your teammates when you ask them if your camera is on. You can also disable the light if you want. Pros: - Extremely easy to start recording and stop - Lightweight - Good battery life - Easy to attach to helmet - Good as a backup/secondary camera - Does not overheat Cons: - Video quality - Audio quality - No image stabilization (can't expect it though at this price range) - App connection works, but not ideally Conclusion: If you want a single camera the puts out great quality, go for the GoPro 13 or better yet, the new DJI Osmo Action 6 (less overheating issues). However, if you want a decent backup/secondary angle camera, you can definitely purchase this. Additionally, if you don't plan on making crazy videos, this would also work as a casual camera that will remind you of the fun times you had on the field. Despite all the negative cons I've listed, you will not find a camera that's better for this price (most likely, unless you're being a someones used GoPro or something). And even with all that - I STILL keep this camera on my helmet, and always turn it on because I knew what I was buying into. So with all that being said, a solid 4 out of 5 from me.

10/10 Video. 3/10 Audio.
Great video, mediocre audio since there isn't a competent mic onboard. Just a tiny SMD mic that gets utterly overwhelmed at the slightest clap. The RunCam 6 has much better specs and gets way better recordings. I just wish it came in this great formfactor.

Annoying at First, Works Well
After dialing in all the settings, it works pretty well. The picture quality is good, audio is clear(ish), and I trust it to take a few bbs without breaking. Battery life is subpar, and you can’t find replacements, but it’s easy enough to wire a battery pack to it. Definitely worth the money.

Excellent Product Design and Functionality
After searching for camera I can use for motorsports, I found this RunCam. This is really well thought out product. First, unlike other side mount helmet cams, the camera is mounted on a flexible stalk so you can position it ideally--the head also rotates so you adjust it to be level regardless of the angle of the mount on the side of the helmet. THis is better way to mount then action cams that use GoPro type mounts on the top of the helmet. Second, unlike action cams where you have to fiddle with multiple buttons to turn on and then record, the RunCam starts recording immediately after you turn it on. Because it is side mounted, its super easy to access the switch--you don't need to have a wrist band mounted remote as with action cams. And to let you know that recording has started, you get a vibration signal which is strong enough to be felt through your helmet. Video quality is excellent. The only limitation is that there is no audio, but that's not a problem for my use case, as I'm planning on combining the video with other video from the vehicle that has audio.

Great for recording
This is a reliable product with only one drawback. That one drawback is the sound. When you talk, it sounds like a machine talking or if it is very windy then you can really catch that. But on the other hand, if people are talking to you, then it sounds great. That has its pros and cons but it depends what you use that video for. The battery life is very good to where I dont have to worry if it will die on me mid game. It is very easy to connect to the runcam app and quickly change any settings if need be. It is very secure when you run so dont have to worry about the camera moving around.

Works great just don't download the app
The helmet cam was fine and the app to Livestream was fine. Then they decided to update the app which now requires access to your entire address book, location and biometric data. But if you don't download the app it works just fine.

not compatible with Sandisk Micro SD Cards, but otherwise, recommend this camera.
bought one a few years back, worked flawlessly and i LOOOOOOOOOOVED it. unique POV for airsoft videos, at the cost of cam quality and audio quality. battery life seems to be on the shorter end of that "6 hours", so i suggest leaving the auto off feature on, and being cognizant of the vibrations it does every now and then. these cams are a mixed bag. i bought 3 of them for my small airsoft team, after my original died on me. i am learning these cameras are NOT compatible with ANY Sandisk Micro SD Cards, but seem to be with Onn Micro SD Cards. most of everything in the above sections still apply, but be careful when using them, try not to turn them off and on rapidly or turn wifi on etc, as my last helmetcam stayed on even when the switch was off, i had to unscrew the battery compartment to shut it off. current setup with this is, digital voice recorder and mic for cleaner audio, and helmet cam hooked up to a micro battery bank to increase recording time. with this setup, i can reasonably record a 8hr 4k30 vid, or however long until the SD card runs out of space, and still have relatively clean audio. 4 stars due to how easy they are to use, the wifi ability, but only 4 due to how much of a pain it is to set them up, and the product page not stating that Sandisk SD cards do not work in the camera, or what the suggested SD card for them are

Great quality for the price! Perfect starting camera for airsofters.
For the price this is an absolute steal! Plenty of customisable options in the settings to mess around with to get the perfect recording desired. The picture quality in 4k is really good, with no stutter or lag. Can record in 4k with up to 30fps and even in 1080p it looks great. Love how you can record in landscape and portrait by just twisting the lens arm around. The app is great too, just download the videos onto your phone library. I love how you can turn the led lights off too for a stealthier look. (I haven’t used this on the field yet but I have run around the house a few times 😂. Will update when Iv tried it at my next airsoft session.)
