Fantastic quality binoculars at a great price
After some research I found these binoculars and the reviews looked promising. I didn't want to spend too much on my first pair but appreciated I'd need to spend a little to get a decent pair. I took these to Cornwall and Isles of Scilly on holiday to bird watch/use on boats for nature safaris and they were great. Crystal clear and easy to use. Magnification level was perfect. Due to the magnification (10x42) you need to have reasonably steady hands however which was tricky on boats and made it a little difficult to hold steady where an 8x42 pair may have been easier. I prioritised the magnification however. Love the protective end caps being attached to the binoculars themselves and the case is helpful. I'd happily recommend these as a good pair of bins for beginners who want a decent pair. I hear they compare to more expensive brands but can't comment as I've not used any other than these and my partners cheap pair - and the clarity on these was far superior.

As good as name brands costing twice as much
I bought one for one grandchild and, after receiving it, bought a second for the other. Optical quality is as good or better than my name brand pair costing twice as much with sharp focus, rich colours with no apparent aberration and good stereo vision impression. All moving parts move smoothly with the right amount of resistance, although the individual eyepiece focus adjuster may be a little stiff for small hands. I especially like the front objective caps that won't get lost.

Not as good as expected
Bought these with high expectation from all the rave reviews (everywhere). I liked the lifetime warranty and the claimed water resistance. I opened them and looked through the eyepieces expecting the “wow” factor, but alas, the picture quality is no better than another pair of bins I have which are available at half the price. The focusing wheel is too coarse, the diopter likewise and the brightness of the image is poor with almost a “milky” quality; as if the platinum rim of the object lens is causing light to bleed into the view. Sadly these are going back.

Excellent value for money.
Very light, easy to use and focus. Good field of vision. I would just say there is a very slight yellow line around the object when looking at birds in the sky at a distance. Also, it does not focus very close-up - you need to be at least about12 feet away. However, for the money, it is excellent - not as perfect as a Leica Noctivid, but then it's a tenth of the price! The after-sakles service from Avalon was first-rate.

Value for money
Although these bins were unsuitable for my wife and myself due to our eye problems! The binoculars themselves are absolutely brilliant value, and really well built! A really good investment!

Excellent quality with great viewing capability
Love the colour, easy to spot them if you ever put them down whilst out and about, very comfy to hold and excellent vision, decent neck strap too.
