Milkweed just so happens to be a beautiful flower that has long suffered from an unfortunate name. Often known in old-fashioned circles as “Butterfly Weed”, it is also sometimes referred to by the more marketing-savvy as “Butterfly Flower”. But regardless of the moniker, this beautiful native is cherished by serious wildflower gardeners. For best success with this perennial seed, we recommend Fall Planting. For Spring Planting, seeds should be cold stratified prior to sowing. David's Garden Seeds is a Veteran owned business that has been providing quality seeds since 2009.

Best seeds ever.
I get all of my seeds from David's seeds. They all grow, and I have never had so many zucchini's or cucumbers in my life. The butterfly milk weed seeds grew great, even though you are supposed to plant them in the fall. I read, on his site, I believe, to soak them over night, if you are planting them in the Spring. And they grew great.

Nothing
This is the 2nd spring since I originally planted these seeds. I have yet to see 1 sprout from any seed. Planted in early November (2-3 week prior to first frost) as indicated in the instructions, but still nothing. Was hoping to attract butterflies to my yard with these plants. Guess I will look for plants at local nursery and not buy seeds from here.

Germination good
The germination was very good. Planted 20 seeds. 19 sprouted and 17 grew to plant. Mar.2022 update. Stratified 20 more seeds for late February sprouting. All 20 sprouted and are growing great. Will be able to plant in April.

Beautiful butterfly plants
I had great success with these seeds. They attract Monarch butterflies. We see caterpillars and butterflies each year. I plan to grow more for my own yard and as gifts.

Seeds arrived in pretty good condition
Seeds arrived in pretty good condition, not that it matters in such high quantity. None have sprouted yet, I planted them a week or so ago, which is slightly disappointing because my wild collected seeds (most likely Zizotes) sprouted in less than a few days. I will update when they sprout, I might have to try to rear them indoors, even though milkweed should go straight into the ground during fall.
