Part puzzle and part anatomy model, this transparent human torso is a great tool for learning about the various organs of the human body, and their general locations. Highly detailed, this 8" model has 37 detachable, hand-painted parts. The various organs have been painted a different color to help identify them. A display stand is included so that the model can stand up on a desk or bookshelf. The included assembly guide is illustrated and fully colored, and has brief descriptions of what kind of functions the various organs perform. The human torso model is a great addition to any human anatomy curriculum, as well as a display model in a doctor's office or for use in as a science fair project.

I had one of these in the 60's growing-up and i liked taking all the organs out and putting them back in. 50 years later this was given to a grandson who also loves it, it is of high quality and he is learning without trying to. Whether your child or grandchild is interested in the human body, biology, or not, this is a nice present for them.P.S. I am an emergency physician so my parents secret goal was reached.

Teaching Aid
I gifted two Human Anatomy Torso kits. One was given to my granddaughter, age 15, who is considering a career in medicine and has begun learning on her own. My daughter-in-law, a pediatric APN, saw it and wanted one for use in her clinic to better educate parents about their child's condition. They both have begun a collection of all the 4D Master Vision Human Anatomy models. Gift giving at its best!

Poorly Constructed Plastic
This is the first one star I am reviewing. I bought this for my science class (6 girls), who are always excited to experiment and work on models like this. This is the first one they were not able to put together. The pieces kept popping out and did not connect. This was poorly made plastic that did not snap together and kept falling apart. I advise to purchase a different type.

but it is a good teaching tool
My expectations were too high for this item, but it is a good teaching tool. My eight year old buddy has found it to be very interesting. Still, he is an unusual kid. When he was three years of age he was fascinated by photographs in a book on anatomy. and insisted that I tell him what the body parts were all about. Judging by the maturity of his questions at the time I do not think that he was just trying to get my attention.
