BEST Resource for Psych in PA School
I cannot say enough good things about this book! I got it during my didactic year of Physician Assistant school and used it RELIGIOUSLY for studying not only DSM-5 disorders, but also for Pharmacology related to Psych (which is a LARGE component of the specialty). I not only got A's in all my Psych courses and tests in didactic, but also used this to study for my EOR during clinicals and PANCE exam and am happy to say that I passed both (with psychiatry being my STRONGEST subject). It is clear, concise, and provides helpful tidbits like mnemonics, ward tips, and rhymes to remember information (AND it has places to take notes in the margins!!). I also like it because it has a much more up-to-date list of the psych drugs than the textbook we were assigned and includes comparisons between meds in the same class, s/e profiles, and recs for prescribers.OVERALL: 10/10 recommend!

Test writers probably use this to make questions
Really fantastic! Most of my classmates hate on textbooks, and go all in for Anki...... But this was less textbook and more "everything that the test asks you about," and is way more manageable than Anki decks with thousands of cards. Did a chapter a day, finished halfway through my 6 week clerkship. Then did 20-40 UW questions per day, finished a few days before shelf. Felt really prepared and got good scores on practice NBMEs. Waiting for real score.

Excellent and easy to read
Highly recommend for med, pa, or np students on their psych rotation. Very digestible and easy to read and understand. This edition even goes over the side effects of specific anti-psychotics. I read the book fromStart to finish and did well in my clinicals.

WOW!
Literally ordered this book LESS THAN 12 HOURS AGO AND ITS HERE IN PERFECT CONDITION. I don't normally write reviews but this one warranted me to take time out of studying for Step to leave a great review! Excellent customer service.

highly recommended for DSM-V up-to-date content
This is probably the best of the first-aid clerkship series books; comprehensive and well prepares you for the shelf. Importantly, this fifth edition is a necessity, because it includes the updated content from the DSM-V, which is dramatically different from the DSM-IV (and from the 4th edition of this book). I definitely recommend going for this current edition.

Great resource!
This is a well-written summary of all the key points you need to know for the psychiatry shelf. Combining this with a question bank such as UWorld is all you need to do well on the shelf.

Got me through all my psych rotations
And earned me honors in my sub I. Will get you through the critical things on shelf. Pharmacology chapters are a great review at the med school level.
