Prepare to be dazzled, delighted, and swept away by the mesmerizing magic of “The Greatest Showman.” The Backstory: In the grand tradition of P.T. Barnum himself, this film is an unabashed celebration of showmanship, dreams, and the extraordinary. Directed with verve and panache by Michael Gracey, it’s a kaleidoscope of color, music, and heartwarming performances. And oh, those songs! Composed by the Oscar- and Tony-winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (the same geniuses behind “La La Land” and “Dear Evan Hansen”), they’re like earworms that burrow into your soul and refuse to let go. The Ringmaster: Hugh Jackman dons the red impresario’s coat and top hat, striding into the center ring with the swagger of a lion tamer. His Barnum is a dreamer, a hustler, and a believer in the impossible. From the opening number, “The Greatest Show,” he beckons us with a wink and a promise: “Just surrender cuz you feel the feeling taking over!” And surrender we do, willingly, without reservation. A Million Dreams: Young Barnum (played by the talented Ellis Rubin) befriends Charity Hallett (the delightful Skylar Dunn), a well-bred girl who shares his hunger for something more. Together, they dream of creating their own destiny—a million dreams woven from starlight and sawdust. Their chemistry is as sweet as cotton candy, and you’ll find yourself rooting for them like a kid cheering for the tightrope walker. The Circus of Misfit Toys: Barnum’s circus isn’t just about acrobats and fire-eaters. It’s a haven for the misfits—the ones society deemed odd, peculiar, or downright magical. Imagine a parade of characters: the bearded lady who belts out tunes, the trapeze artist with wings made of courage, and the tattooed man who wears his stories on his skin. They’re all here, dancing under the big top, proving that life’s greatest spectacle is acceptance. The Queen of Hearts: Zendaya as Anne Wheeler, the trapeze artist, steals every scene she graces. Her chemistry with Zac Efron (Phillip Carlyle) ignites the screen like a fireworks display. Their forbidden love story—set against a backdrop of prejudice and societal norms—will make your heart somersault. And when they swing through the air, it’s as if gravity itself holds its breath. The Critics’ Tightrope: Now, I hear the naysayers whispering like carnival ghosts. “But what about historical accuracy?” they murmur. Well, my friends, this isn’t a documentary; it’s a symphony of wonder. Yes, P.T. Barnum had his flaws, but this film isn’t about the man—it’s about the magic he conjured. It’s about the thrill of the spotlight, the gasp of the audience, and the belief that even misfits can shine. The Grand Finale: As the final curtain falls, you’ll leave the theater humming, dancing, and maybe even doing cartwheels. “The Greatest Showman” isn’t just a movie; it’s a state of mind. It’s the feeling of being alive, of chasing dreams, and of knowing that sometimes, the most extraordinary things happen under the ordinary canvas of life. So, my fellow dreamers, grab your popcorn, cue the spotlight, and join the circus. Because in this magical world, we’re all ringmasters, balancing on the tightrope of hope. Review: This movie is a cinematic sensation (SPOILER ALERT!!!) - This movie tells the life struggles of P.T. Barnum. It tells a great story of how today’s show business came about. It tells how Barnum became the greatest showman of all time. This movie is a great family movie, but it can appeal to people of all ages. Personally, being a teenager, I didn’t think this movie would interest me as much as it did. It is one of my favorite movies of all time. This movie also has an amazing soundtrack. A lot of people I know don’t like musicals, but they like this movie. It is very easy to make a musical very cheesy. However, this movie is not cheesy at all. Also, a lot of songs in musicals, such as “High School Musical,” can be really random and have nothing to do with the storyline. The songs in “The Greatest Showman” help tell the story really well. Personally, this movie never felt redundant. However, there were points in the movie that did bore me. However, after the boring points in the movie, they got really interesting. Also, the way the characters were portrayed really made me feel something. They all made me feel like I was there with them. For example, when Zac Efron’s character, Philip Carlyle, almost didn’t make it out of the burning building, I started crying. I got so attached to the character throughout the movie that when this part of the movie happened, it made me emotional. Also, Hugh Jackman was an excellent choice for the role of P.T. Barnum. He portrayed the character wonderfully and told the story very well. I think if P.T. Barnum could see this movie and the success it had, he would be filled with great joy. No matter how many times I watch this movie, it will never get old. It is truly a legendary film that will be watched and loved by many generations to come.

Ok its the Mrs here writing this review. Now Im not a girly type person when it comes to tv....I hate soaps & all reality tv....come on people get a life. I love action & horror...I mean lots of blood & gore type horror not some horror film that is meant to scare the pants off you yet be pg rated.... My typical girly night when hubster out is watching action films in bed til 2am..... Expendables, Jason Statham films, ect ect. I also love SC-FI...especially X-Men ect. The Greatest Showman has been mentioned a few times....I love Hugh Jackman & have all of his films including Logan, Real Steel ect but the thought of him singing....well kinda puts Wolverine in a different light that I didnt want see him in. However after a trip to the hairdressers & her going on about her BIL watching it 5 times & getting the soundtrack & him normally being an action hero/SC-FI fanatic...you know true guy stuff (tho gal stuff in my case hooraaa lol) I thought I would get it....the worst thing happening the disc becomes a coaster for my cuppa lol. Ok this action freak here loves this film....this SC-FI freak right here....yep has the soundtrack 😂. OMG you have to get the movie......no its NOT a true life story of PT Barnum but an adaptation of show business & the birth of show business but more importantly to me with having a severely disabled daughter it shows how beauty lies everywhere & comes in many forms & should not be hidden away...... Its a true feel good film, it just makes you feel happy watching it & the music is fantastic. Hugh Jackman plays the part perfectly & while Im never gonna look at Wolverine the same way again lol, I could not imagine anyone else playing the part better. Every single actor & actress plays their part tremendously.... Greatest Showman truly is the greatest show Ive seen in many years & I cannot stop watching it. Me & hubster watched it & then hubby said when it finished 'wanna watch it again?'....yep we watched it again immediately after til 2am even tho alarm would be going off at 6am (alarm been our daughter lol) Its so good my sons who are in their 20's, my hubby, my grandchildren & most importantly my disabled daughter all absolutely love this film. It deserves awards galore in my opinion. No its not turned me into a girly girl & yes I still hate all tv soaps & reality crap & no Im not going to start watching musicals now including La La Land.....unless Hugh Jackman is in it this will be my last musical.... However this which is maybe my 27th time watching the film will NOT be my last lol. Though I am worried I will wear the disc out.....do you think that can happen???🤣 People if you havnt seen it...then see it. Yes there are the ones that say its not a true representation of Barnum but its NOT meant to be...no where on this film does it say 'This is based on a true story'.....also there is a review about no trailers....are you kidding me!!! That is also a plus point for me...I dont want trailers, I have google to google new & upcoming films for me....I bought this film to watch the film....not crappy trailers that each suck away 3 minutes of my life. Dont complain about the little stuff that doesnt really matter.....most films out there are far fetched ect...its the reason we love em.....come on what action film is true to life. Its the 'No way would that happen' that we love. Unless you want me babble on more....just get the film. Hugh Jackman YOU are The Greatest Showman ❤❤
