Ariens/Gravely Lawn Mower LED Light Kit Part# 71514100 ZT-X, ZT-XL, IKON X, IKON XL

The light is great, almost "plug and play". Its really bright, enough to mow at night, and fits neatly up under the front of the mower. Like others mentioned though, it is not wired correctly for Ariens IKON mowers. Sure, it will work if you follow the directions, but the light will be on anytime the mower is running. My IKON has a separate position on the key switch for the light. Wiring it by the directions will not take advantage of the light position on the switch. As someone else mentioned, wire the black wire from the light to the black wire from the fuse box. Wire red to "L" on the switch, then run another wire from "A2" to the purple wire from the fuse box, this will put the switch in the loop, and it will only be on when you put the switch in the "light" position, running or not, like any other vehicle, tractor, etc.

Ordered this for my Ariens Ikon XD 52” zero turn mower. I was concerned because other reviews mentioned challenges with the switch. I must say, I had zero problems. The directions were clear and the installation only took about 25 minutes and that was with distractions. It works as it should with the Ikon 52. The light only comes on when the switch is turned to the headlight position. Works perfectly!!, Only negative comment is that it’s a bit expensive for a headlight.

OK - Light works well once installed. Is sturdy and should last.Poor directions: Wire routing is poorly planned. Would be better to route through frame tube.Connection to fuse box difficult because wire length is about 6 inched short for easy install.Wire routed under foot pan using a drain hole to secure a plastic push through wire support, expect it will be sheared off from foot traffic.Bolts difficult to install on light fixture, holes had to be enlarged to install bolts.Should have been a 10 minute job but was not.;

Too early to rate durability a 5, but suspect it will be. Amazingly bright lights.

Add a little bling you know you want to. The light itself is quality made. For those with an Arians concerned about the light staying on when the zero turns running, you'll need to run wires from A2 and L located on the key switch. I tried to add a wiring diagram hopefully it's legible

This light package is way over priced, and half baked instruction make it a little challenging to hook. It’s not too difficult though. The light output is great.

works grate, I only wish it had an on/off switch. was very easy to install

Terrible construction! Wrong size bullet on the light fell off in my hands. Blue crimp lugs are made for 14 to 16 awg wire where as the light has 18 awg wire on it. Also, the bullets were crimped with a non insulated crimper which is not correct for these insulated lugs. Seems a bit dumb to have nice weather resistant bullet sockets on the wiring harness and generic bullets on the light. The wire colors do not match as the manual says they should (red to red and black to black). The light bracket itself is ok but the single bolt design is a pain to get tightened and also have it aimed in the desired direction. An extra washer or 2 would help this problem (lock washers should be used with flat washers behind them). I terminated the wires with better connectors in order to complete my installation.
