Worked! Not much more than that is necessary
I picked this up when I installed my new ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential, and I'm really glad I did. My old thermostat left a noticeable rectangular patch of discolored paint and a few extra screw holes on the wall — not exactly a great first impression in the entryway. The trim plate covered everything cleanly and completely, no touch-up painting required. Installation took maybe five minutes. It simply mounts behind the thermostat before you snap the ecobee into place, so there's no extra hardware or guesswork involved. The fit was snug and precise — clearly designed specifically for the Essential model, which gave me confidence it wouldn't look cheap or off-center. The finish matches the thermostat's clean white aesthetic really well. It sits flush against the wall without any gaps or wobbling, and the overall look is polished and intentional rather than like an afterthought. Honestly, if you're replacing an older thermostat and worried about wall damage underneath, just add this to your cart at the same time. It's a small investment that makes the whole installation look professional. Would definitely recommend to anyone doing a DIY thermostat upgrade.

Works great! Hid extras holes from previous!
Was required for my new ecobee thermostat. Had a larger holes in the gyproc from the gen 2 Nest (Google) thermostat it was replacing. Google is not supporting Gen 1 and 2 after Oct 2025 so won't need using anything Google ever again! This plate went on easily and looks great! Thermostat works far better than the best as well, much better temp control in the house especially with the air conditioner, we were constantly manually changing the best as the smart program was crap and it was either to got out too cold but never just right, ever, so glad they forced me to find this one!
