Ludovico Einaudi - Nightbook: Solo Piano

Beautiful Music, First-Rate Transcription
This songbook is a nearly perfect transcription of Ludovico Einaudi's album "Nightbook." The piano parts to all the songs are included and, where practical, the other instruments are transcribed for a fuller solo piano performance. Einaudi's style is simple, meditative, and plainly stated, so these pieces are not especially difficult, though the effects they produce are absolutely stunning. This is some of the most beautiful piano music composed recently, blessedly free from New Age cliches, melodic, profound. Anyone who loves "Nightbook" will be delighted to recreate those soundscapes.

Great value and service from the book depository (uk based) that arrived in less than four business days and shipped from the UK, no less.

Just OK
Good music but is somewhat repetitive but that is the music. My son 12 year is advanced piano player but is able to play most songs without any lessons. It not for the beginner but advanced.

Beautiful music!
Four of the songs in this book are also in the book - Islands. The other nine songs do not appear in any of the other newer books.

A different style
Most of Einaudi's more renowned works, such as Le Onde and I Giorni, are purely piano works, with no additional frills or spills. He has in the past added electric undertones to his piano theme to add an ethereal sense of depth to his music, while not detracted from the strength of the piano. This was particularly successful with the album Divenire. He has applied a similar method here, with similar results. There are some fantastic scores here, such as Nightbook, which really pound out with a reverberating beat; as well as the soft delicacy of the introduction to Indaco. They are, broadly speaking, fairly straightforward to play, but there are some unconventional beats that can be a little tricky to master, and require the listening of the original to see how they should work in practice. It is a good album, but one is left with a feeling that the music still sounds a little empty without the additional body of an electric tone, or a violin or string quartet as is common during his tours. If you have an electric piano, with the ability to merge and manipulate different instruments to add layers of bass and so on to the music, then this is perfect.

Fantastic
Very challenging to play, but absolutely beautiful when started to be mastered. Enables the player to dream of being like Einaudi!

Einaudi at his most atmospheric!
Well sized and clearly printed notes.Nice cover, but it isn't a hard cover - which actually makes it more usable!
