Retroactive

James Belushi is either very good or very bad in most movies he does. Not sure if it's just my take on the kind of role he fits or if he's sometimes a bad judge of scripts. This movie Retroactive as well as The Principal are two of Belushi's best performances(I would add the Sidekick cop part he played in Red Heat with Arnold Schwarzenegger as a third good performance). At any rate, retroactive is an interesting story that's well acted by the entire cast. As in 12:01 or Groundog Day, the character(s) get caught in a time loop so one or more of them return to a point in time and 'redo' events from that time forward. What makes this extremely interesting is that each time, one of the characters changes something and that changes events. They wind up back at the 'ending point' and start again. I watched Retroactive two or three times over a few weeks and each time noticed something else, and always enjoyed the movie. Even when you know the ultimate outcome, it's still a very entertaining ride thru each viewing.

I could--and do--watch this movie over and over, and still not tire of it. Time travel is my favorite theme, and this movie proves (as do most) why people should not be allowed to do it. The twists and turns, the ironic outcomes of trying to go back in time to correct things, only to make matters worse: I love it. And secretly wish I could do it. Carefully, of course.

I like this movie. It blends in science fiction, time travel, and action well, and has a good plot. I like the extras too. If you like Jim Belushi in a different sort of role and this kind of movie, this is the film for you!

I didn't know precisely what to expect, it was ok.

I'm a big fan of sci-fi movies and especially time travel stories. I liked the way the protagonist in this one discovered merely being able to go back n time was no guarantee she could fix things as her attempts at corrections only made things worse.

this sleeper hit is not unknown amongst its cult followers. Amazing work by James Belushi as the bad guy. A facet of this film worth noting is Kylie Travis as the girl being able to go head to head with the bad guy and give as well as she gets. This movie was described as Quantum leap meets Groundhog Day. I never saw quantum leap but it communicates. Lots of action to watch and a somewhat surprising ending. A very good film.

Retroactive, the movie was well made and suspenseful but it is not my type of movie. I watched the entire movie but was never really into it. I like James Belushi too. Taking care of business and K-9 comedy movies are great. However, his detective movies are good too. My wife love Curly Sue.For my taste I rated it a 2 but the quality was a 4 so a 3 star seems fair.

Things can always get worse, and sometimes no matter how hard or how often one tries, instead of making things better you make them worse. This is a little known movie, slightly tongue in cheek dark comedy, based on that premise. Hold on to your seat action with James Belushi at his psychotic best.

時間を逆行する機械を使ったＳＦ作品です。Ｂ級ＳＦではありますが、いくつかの点を気にしなければ十分に楽しい作品だと思います。（タイムパラドックスに関わる部分や時間を逆行する機械のチープな点、逆行時の表現方法など）過去を修復しようとして、事態がどんどん酷くなっていくところなど、ストーリーとしてはなかなかおもしろく、結構気にいっている作品です。主人公の女刑事が美しいのも良いです。（７daysにもちょっと似た話があります（「タイムループ」）が、もしかしてこの作品がヒントになったりしたのでしょうか？

Retroactive is a very interesting movie with James Belushi.Great acting from the American/Albanian.He plays a baddy in this movie which actually suits him really well I must say. Going in back in time is something we all would like to do, well Belushi has that opportunity which happened by a woman he picks up having car trouble. He has a frightened and very nervous companion in the car who has cheated on him. He finds out and kills her but the woman that is sitting in the back of his car witnessed it all and made a run for it. Close by is a isolated research centre that she enters and all starts from there. A project to travel back in time is taking place and she accidentally is pulled in it. Going back to the events right before all hell broke loose is a challenge as things go not as planned but with events changing. The rest you will have to watch for yourself. This is a great movie with a decent story and full of action. Its a movie that you will enjoy. I know I did. Give it a chance as you will be surprised how good it is. Great seller. Fast delivery. It's good but, there a a couple of pitfalls; for instance the film leaves out important details that we need because when watching the film, I have wondered how James Belushi knows the man with the computer; it doesn't give any indication in the film that James Belushi has had any dealings with him. Also on one of the gunfights, how does James Belushi know that the young lad is hiding in the container outside the shop? I must admit that I like the young boy in the film who goes through the time travel and is able to direct his parents to do the right thing.

My mum and dad kept telling me that I needed to see this film. I finally catched on the tv, so I relaxed and gave it a try. I found the movie to be brilliant, it had nearly everything: Action, comedy, horror etc. It's easily a movie that you can watch again and again and again, and it had some unpredictable parts in some places.Jim belushi was great as the crazy guy who murders his wife and tries to kill another woman, luckily that woman manages to escape and run away, she then finds this building to hide in, little does she know it's a time machine, and she gets sent back in time by it, she then keeps going back in time to stop the murder from happening but, instead, she keeps making it worse.This is a movie i'd love to own. Too bad it's only available on region 1, i'll just have to wait for region 2.
