The Winch Wench /Sailboat Cup Holder

Easy to use when rafted up. Not as handy when under sail. But I still handy as heck!

I took it with me sailing to provide an extra cup-holder and it worked perfectly. My buddy, a full time sailor that lives on his boat, loved it so much and thought it was such a good idea that I let him keep it. Great buy.

Again, I was looking for useful gifts for my sailor. I bought two of these winch wench cup holders. We have 4 wenches to choose from on the boat. They come in very handy and we make the most of using them. Keep in mind that the cup holder is wide enough to hold large containers. If you want to place an aluminum can inside it use one of those cushions/sleeve around the can for a tighter grip. Otherwise your container will tilt.

Great product, very portable. Item holds a raw can or the thick style "coozie", but the thin ones allow the drink to tip a little.

I had two of these while I sailed around the world on a small boat. I see reviewers being concerned about things falling out. I always had my handheld gps (the only one onboard), the handheld vhf or a coldy in one of the Winch Wenches. I experienced deep knockdowns and never had anything fall out. I had waves crashing over the boat while crossing the Indian Ocean. One my favorite sail got washed overboard but there was my Winch Wench with a coldy still in it, water pouring out the drain holes in the bottom.

Pull these out while your boat is at anchor and everyone else in the anchorage will be paddling up to ask where you got them. They are big enough to fit a can in a koozie inside. Before buying them though, make sure your winches are fairly level-- if your winches are canted outboard (as many are), these will not work without spilling some of your precious beverage.Once in the winches, these stay in until you remove them. We have inadvertently left ours in overnight on evenings with brisk winds but they have always been there in the morning.I wish the seller would make one with a slot cut in the side to accommodate the handle of a coffee mug.

Cheap...

This bottom of this device could be used to measure the wear on your winches. On older winches it is a bit wobbly but has not fallen out, though might on a hard heal. On newer winches, it has a nice snug fit. If the bottom was a star like winches rather than a square, it could have a secure in all winches. However, even with the biggest, fattest koozie I could find, a twelve-ounce can is rather loose in this holder. Would have been nice to have a selection of cheesy logos and colors to from rather than just one. Given these issues and being almost ten bucks each, I won't buy more of these for my boat.
