If you're a parent of a child having difficulty with speech, the Pecs system will help. My almost 4 year old grandson stopped trying to speak around 18 months of age. One tester said he is not autistic, but I seriously believe he falls somewhere on the spectrum. We had the assistance of professionals in the Birth to Three program and in the Speech Pathologist in the preschool program. However, this book helped us fill in the holes and gave my grandson a way to express himself with out speech. He is now starting to speak more and more, but this book was very helpful
