Q: is this good for the bikini area?

Yes. It is a trimmer, not a shaver--and a small, pen-style trimmer that is not as suited to removing large amounts of hair at once as some other styles--but the pivoting head makes it the best trimmer of this type for the bikini area (this is in reference to the grey version, NOT the blue or lighted one, which are both subpar). I would not expect to use it as my first or only hair removal method, but it's the best I've found for keeping in your purse and doing random touch-ups. (You could use it as your only trimmer if you really wanted; I have in a pinch--it just takes a lot longer than my trusty 2-AA-battery Panasonic.)

Q: Is this trimmer safe for pubic trimming or hair removal for women and men?

This is meant for small touch-ups and I do not think that this would work well in this area.

Q: Why is it not truning on even after following the directions?

Are the batteries facing the right way? I’ve screwed that up more than once! If you’ve done everything right and it’s still not working, ask for a replacement. I like the product. Good luck!
