What is the difference between a BTE (Behind-the-Ear) and ITE (In-the-Ear)? The location of the receiver or speaker is different. Review: Amazing product! - Amazing product! Easy to use and comfortable. Review: Would recommend a different hearing aid - Got this for a family member who is suffering from mild hearing loss. While the hearing aids were comfortable and could be worn for long periods of time, the actual function of helping amplify sounds and working as a hearing aid seemed to be average at best while producing a lot of harsher, high pitched sounds. The touch buttons did not work well and there was a very big learning curve in trying to get these buds to work in the first place. While the charging case was a nice touch, I would overall recommend a different hearing aid for anyone looking for one

Bad experience
Not a good experience. Product didn’t work the second day I received them. Call the number for Nano’s help which is in the user guide, and that doesn’t work either. Returned to Amazon and bought another brand.

Work pretty well. But overpriced.
This review is for: First Ear Plus BTE - Behind the Ear - For Adults & Seniors with Mild to Moderate Hearing Loss - Includes Rechargeable Battery, Portable Charging Case & Cable First of all, I think there is a differentiation between hearing aids and hearing amplifiers. I think hearing aids are more customized and give you more ability to tweak things to match your hearing perfectly. I think hearing amplifiers give you less ability and more or less just amplify the sound for you. I would call these hearing amplifiers, not hearing aids, personally. I like the behind the ear option because I have a lot of hair and they can't be seen. Plus they're not going to be falling out of my ears by mistake. I will feel it if they come off. It also makes managing the controls a little easier. There are tiny little toggles that you can use. It takes some practice, but eventually they would become second nature. The charging case is great. It makes batteries a thing of the past. Just putting them away is all you need to do. They do amplify a lot. I am currently using them on the low setting and it is pretty loud. For what they are, I think they are very overpriced. I think you can get other hearing amplifiers that are similar in quality for much less.

Performs like budget hearing aids
Existing reviews here seem to be for a different product. This review is for the “Nano Hearing Aids First Ear Plus BTE - Behind the Ear - For Adults & Seniors with Mild to Moderate Hearing Loss”. I’ve submitted a photo to differentiate the product I’m reviewing. We have tried two other hearing aids on a budget (under $100) and expected these (listed at almost $400) to perform but ultimately am disappointed. Here are the good points: The ear pieces fit comfortably, and the “BTE” part is very lightweight and discrete. The volume control has a positive reaction and is easy to adjust. The case is small and recharges the hearing aids with no need to fumble with tedious wires or small batteries. But ultimately, we will head to our doc for guidance to get a true quality hearing aid. These have a very tinny electronic sound and an unacceptable delay actually worse than the “budget” hearing aid we tried.

Works good for me
I got these to help with some very mild hearing and they seem pretty good for me. They are comfortable to wear and do not draw much attention since they sit mostly on the top behind the ear. I like that they feel secure and I can wear them through the day without irritation. The sound quality has been clear and natural for me and it has made conversations easier without feeling overwhelming or artificial. The amplification is adjustable and since my hearing loss is very mild I usually keep it on the lower setting and it still makes a difference. The rechargeable battery has been reliable and it lasts all day with no problem for me. I put them back in the portable charging case at night and they are ready to go by the morning without any hassle. The case itself is easy to carry and I like that it includes the cable so I do not have to search for the right charger. The convenience of not having to worry about swapping disposable batteries has been a big plus since it keeps maintenance simple and stress free. I have even taken the case on short trips and it works well for recharging on the go. What also stands out to me is that they feel durable and the build quality gives me confidence they will hold up with daily use. The controls are straightforward so I can adjust volume quickly if I need to in different environments. I have used them while talking with family, watching TV, and even in a small group setting, and each time they have helped me catch more details than before. For me these hearing aids have been a practical and comfortable option that makes mild hearing support easy to manage, and I feel like they fit smoothly into my daily routine without extra effort.

Work too well--too loud for me! But would be great with more hearing loss.
The cons first: The lowest volume level is still way too loud for me, almost painfully so. And yes, I am using it correctly. The little red and blue dots signifying right and left are almost impossible to see--I put a big red dot of nail polish on the right/red aid to be able to easily see them. And the price is too high for what you get, but hearing aids seem to be very pricey. The pros: I am a big proponent of over-the-ear aids with controls behind the ear; I have lost several little tiny in-the-ear invisible" aids, didn't feel a thing when they fell out and noticed too late to be able to find them; I have a good collection of one-of-a-kind invisible aids! The over/behind-the ear aids are not really visible anyway, and that ear hook really does keep them in place. I have not lost one in several years. The controls behind the ear are also much easier to use than the invisible type of aid. The controls are teeny tiny anyway, and I am a woman with small hands and fingers, and still have an occasional problem locating the button and deciding which way is up or down--sounds silly, but it's true. The controls of these aids are big enough to feel with a little practice. There are only two basic ways to move the toggles: up and down: on/off long push, volume fast up/down, program (quiet surrounds or noisy surroundings) fast push. There are beeps to indicate you got it right (or wrong). It is actually very easy. The battery life is quite long, providing you recharge each night. The little container for the charger is very small, attractive, and easy to use--just put the aids in the slots. So, I recommend them, with the volume and price caveats. They are very well made, easy to use, and everything you need to keep them clean and otherwise care for them is included.
