This is a quality product that latches cleanly and securely, and is easy to open for someone tall enough to reach the top. Note that configuration will depend on which way the gate swings and whether you want the hardware on the inside or outside of the gate. In our case, my wife had wanted the hardware inside the gate and the vertical part that you pull up on the swinging part of the gate with the latching element on the fixed post, but fortunately we figured out before installing that would not work and had to reverse. Also, while the latch can be adjusted depending on how far the edge of the gate is from the post, it is not unlimited. In our case the gap between the gate and the post was about 3-4" and I can't picture making it stretch any farther (check the specs to make sure I have this right).
