great to have BP 1 on BD and BP 2 together in one package
I saw BP 1 live on old style analog TV when broadcasted in 2001 and it was breathtaking. At the time their film and video were shot, Jacques Cousteau was alive, and after he died his series was still shown in re-runs and was the best there was, until BP, which just blew every documentary about the oceans away. I watched it multiple times on DVD. Unfortunately, on HDTV the source material shows its age, much of it upconverted from SD material they must have on master, and this is written in small print on the rear of the box. I do own the original DVD of BP 1 and the good news is its better on BD than the original DVD. 18 years since, I've seen many of the creatures and oceans shown on BP myself, live, in the oceans, and can attest how difficult it is to drag old style cameras in the water prior to 2008. A GoPro or cheap clone today, can take better video that most of the pro gear taken to water before 2008. BP II extreme clarity clearly shows how obsolete BP 1 is in terms of video technology.Prosdisks run quick and easy to navigate, no frills menus make response fastBP 2 on BD is clearer than streaming or via cable materialclearer BP 1 on BP than the official DVD release, which I own and comparedConsBP 1 source material is old and dated, but can't minus a star given that's as good as it got back then. It could use a good remastering but I think the BBC would rather refilm the same using better gear than squeeze blood from a stone.

Great nature stories
These are wonderful sets and adventures. They capture stories of animals and fish that are amazing and one would never suspect. Gives you a tremendous respect for our planet and it diversity. Also explains how animals have adjusted to survive.

Educational great video
If you have young children or not, this is a great watch. Because it鈥檚 nature, there will be sad parts. Sad part鈥檚 because we are destroying our planet. Very educational.

Mostly good but too much run-time on polar bears and penguins.
I watched the entire thing in a 1-week period and it's mostly good but honestly feels like half the run-time covers polar bears and penguins. Enough polar bears and penguins already!

Los mejores documentales marinos del SXXI!!! 馃憤馃徏
Excelente colecci贸n para quienes nos encanta la vida y ecosistemas marinos. Estuve esperando por 18+ meses que BP II llegara a Latam... As铆 que esta opci贸n fue la forma de no esperar m谩s!El 煤nico comentario es que los DVD siguen regionaliz谩ndose (en este caso regi贸n 1, afortunadamente tengo un DVD Rec con esa regi贸n) y es una limitante... Deber铆a ser multiregion para lograr un mejor alcance.

Worth it for the content
Bought this for my oldest son as he鈥檚 been fascinated with wild life recently. He have both enjoyed the quality and content on the discs. Definitely worth a buy for those that like other BBC programs and sea life.
