Review from a trained musician.
I have played piano, violin, and cello for 30 years, going to college on a music scholarship. I now teach private lessons and wanted to find a quality student instrument to recommend to beginners. This violin not only looks beautiful but sounds very nice, better than several rentals my students tried. I love the sparkles in the finish. For the cost of one or two months renting a violin from an instrument shop students get their own violin, a decent wood bow, and a sturdy but lightweight case. Remember to buy a shoulder rest! I recommend a good rosin too as the tiny amount that came with the kit won't last long.

Good beginner violin
I got this for my eight year old daughter for her birthday. I play the violin and teach so I can tell the quality is alright but obviously not top notch. It’s great for starting out on. It took an hour to tune because of its newness and the pegs don’t stay very well but get better in time. The bow is very low quality. The strings break constantly but it’ll do for now. The case is so light. There is no room for the arm/shoulder rest that I bought her to put in. I am happy about the price of it because that is what it’s worth. It’ll work for someone who needs one for a couple years before investing in a nice one for a child.

FANTASTIC AND BEAUTIFUL VIOLIN KIT!!!
This is my very first violin. I have always wanted to play but could never afford one because I thought they were so super expensive! When I ordered this violin I was a little worried because of some of the reviews. But so far for me, I have not had any issues at all with Sebastian, which is what I named him. He came with rosin, a bow, 2 bridges, extra strings, the straps for the case and the case itself. I had no trouble putting in the bridge, I rosined the bow, and started learning open notes. I have had this for almost a week and not one string has broken. I have tuned him a couple times, but learned that while tuning, push down on the wooden pegs to make sure they don't turn. After tuning him he stayed tuned for a good while, till I had to loosen the strings to put on a fret sticker, which does help with learning. It's a very good, solid violin and sounds great! Especially for a beginner! The chin rest is comfortable and I have not had any of the paint come off on my chin or anything else. Also, when you first use your rosin, scratch the top of it with a nail file, and then us it. I am a musician again and it makes me so happy!

I LOVE this violin
I LOVE this violin, I use to play in school and ended up dropping it for other things. I wanted to pick back up and learn again but wasnt willing to drop the kind of cash on something that I might end up dropping again. This violin came across my feed and I was IN LOVE. Beautiful color (I got the black one) and the accesories are great.you do get what you pay for, so she doesnt hold her pitch for too terribly long if shes not played, but shes easy to tune and get right back into it. If you are looking to get back into practicing violin, buy this violin. If youre a seasoned professional, maybe buy a little higher quality from a music store, however I wasnt willing to drop 200+ on an instrument I wasnt sure I wanted to continue with, so Im so very happy that I bought this baby!

WONDERFUL SOUND AND RESONANCE
For what it cost, this is an excellent violin. The color is sparkly and really white. I was really concerned with my ability to set it up, but it was not difficult at all. I did go onto YouTube to see how it's done before attempting. I also purchased a tuner so that I could see what note I was hitting in order to tune it since I have no ear for notes at all. It played perfectly.I did take some suggestion and took out each of the four pegs and rubbed them on the rosin so that they stopped slipping. Now it hold just fine. It will take a couple of weeks to break in the strings, but so far it plays wonderfully. My daughter loves it and for a beginner I would highly recommend this violin to start with. It actually sounds much nicer than her school violin. I was really concerned after speaking to her teacher who was very skeptical about any instrument made in China. Figuring I could always return it if it was no good, I took the chance. I couldn't be happier.

Perfect for my 9 year old son
Very nice violin for the price. My 9 year old wanted to start violin and the only ones available to rent from the teacher were full sized and too big for him. This 3/4 is the perfect size and he is enjoying practice much more. We did also buy a shoulder rest which helps greatly with positioning. His teacher mentioned this is higher quality than some of the other student violins they have purchased in the past. Very happy!

Great childs learning instrument.
Bought for a 10 year old girl, fits great. Though I had a hell of a time tuning it because the tuning knobs refuse to keep tension. So I used the wax to coat the knobs, keeps tension and tune. The tuner works great.Keep in mind that this kit is for beginners and budget conscious folk so it may not perform to the level of a professional grade instrument but it has not caused any disappointment.
